Regarding Ichigo’s hax defense, it’s a bit more nuanced. The most critical thing about Ichigo’s power that a lot of people forget/overlook is the fact that Ichigo doesn’t have much experience/mastery over his powers. Kubo has been putting this in our face since the beginning of the manga. Really, he’s just a young boy fighting battles with beings that are hundreds, thousands, if not several millennia old with some of them even existing since near the beginning of time. And keep in mind that since his involvement in TYBW, in just the span of like 2-3 days Ichigo discovers his true heritage, gets his full power unlocked and ran back to the battlefield to save all of reality. It’s not like he had time to properly train and really get used to his powers. So even though his current showing seems impressive, the truth is that Ichigo is very much a noob that doesn’t know how to truly utilize his power. He outright says it himself in his final fight against Yuha. This is why we don’t see him do things we know he SHOULD be doing like high speed regeneration after he got shot by Uryu. Or combining Blut Vene with Hierro (hell, he doesn’t use HIERRO at all), or use Blut arterie while attacking. Or combine shunpo, sonido and hirenkyaku to create near teleport like speed like Hikone did in CFYOW. Or reiatsu crush opponents and their abilities like Aizen does. You get the point right? What Ichigo lacks isn’t really “hax” defense. He simply lacks full mastery over all of his abilities so that he CAN negate other abilities.

I hope someone hammers home exactly how strong ichigo really is. People have this misconception that the base yhwach who fought squad zero is the same as the base yhwach who fought yamamoto. That's untrue. That base yhwach that ichigo overpowered is far beyond yamamoto In chapter 565: "god like you", before yhwach ascended to fight squad zero, jugram explains to Uryuu that everyone who's been given a piece of yhwach's soul will only serve to make him stronger upon their deaths. He explains that yhwach scattered pieces of his soul across the Sereitei during the first invasion and that everyone including shinigami and quincy who's died since the first invasion and the war started has only served to make yhwach more powerful. Who's died since the 1st invasion?: Yamamoto, driscoll, Jerome, bernice, loyd, Royd, bg9, Cang du, Mask de masculine, As nodt, Gremmy and every other fodder shinigami and quincy soldat. Yhwach absorbed all their power before facing squad zero. People ignore this for no reason which I cannot understand. That yhwach is far beyond the yhwach that fought yamamoto. People like to claim that Royd was too weak compared to yamamoto but that's not true. Yhwach believed that royd who had 70-80% of his base power at that time was strong enough to fight yamamoto and stall him and make him tire himself out using his bankai and he was correct. Yamamoto used all his bankai abilities against Royd. And yhwach stole Royd's power after his death, along with yamamoto's bankai and his power after his dwath going by jugram's statement , add Gremmy in with that along with other sternritter and that's the base yhwach we're talking about here. Yhwach does in fact take all the power, skill and experience he absorbs the power of the dead. I wonder why people think he doesn't lol. The fact that ichigo beat that base yhwach without even access to his Shikai's true abilities puts ichigo on a whole other level.
This! And to add, Yhwach did auswahlen as well while fighting Ichibei and base shikai Ichigo straight up no diffed him before Almighty was used. The only reason people don’t acknowledge Ichigo’s power is either ignorance or just flat out coping. The biggest coping is usually those who still think that Yamamoto would be relevant in power with the likes of Ichigo and empowered Yhwach.

Another thing to note, Ichigo was never trying to kill any of the Sternritters. The only person he was truly after was the main boss of the enemy, Yhwach. Which is very in character for Ichigo.
17:31 There is an ability that works like that. It’s called reiatsu negation. Kenpachi introduced it early in the series when ichigo could not cut him. Ichigo also showcased that as well by having a reiatsu so much higher than aizen that he could slap a full incantation black coffin and catch aizen’s sword.
Im glad they are fleshing out how powerful ichigo really is , his manga showings were always so-so . And while we're on the subject i hope people realize now Askin is NOT on ichigos level . Everytime the subject comes up i have to explain that ichigo was clearly not serious / going for the kill against askin and thats how he managed to drop ichigo in the manga . We've seen him fight now 3 times post royal training including against Ywach and he held back massively in each fight . Thats the only reason asking didnt get one shot. He has a good schrift but thats about it .
Even with the Askin situation in the manga, the clear implication was that Ichigo got surprise attacked by Askin somehow. The biggest thing supporting this is the fact that when Yoruichi came to rescue them from the poison, Ichigo just stood up as though nothing happened and didn’t need healing. Yoruichi then comments that she’s not surprised that he’s already up. The people who downplay Ichigo because of Askin never take the full context into consideration.

Also Throughout most of TYBW Ichigo isn't serious and hasn't had his defences up so that his reiatsu doesn't affect his comrades... ... During the start of his final battle against Yhwach we see how his reiatsu becomes a protective cage around him when he actually gets into proper combat form/ intent to fight... And that's when he actually stops actively suppressing himself... ... And even then this Ichigo is still inexperienced... He is only instinctively using blut vene... He still has to master all the aspects of his quincy and hollow side... He still has the highest potential in the entire series... Meaning he can grow further than anyone else...
I am scared of how strong full power Ichigo will be in the anime. So far he has only used his True Shikai and his Blut Vene on reflex. Now imagine him going Bankai, which is a 5-10 times power boost + Horn of Salvation which are his Hollow Powers, probably like a Hollow Mask on top. Absolutely crazy. Hopefully the anime expands his fight with Yhwach so we get to actually see him in action at full power for a longer time.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. Dangai ichigo beat aizen easily, Before he even using final getsuga tenshou. We're talking about aizen whose powerful enough to solo the entire gotei 13 except Yamamoto before becoming trascended being, He can even hurt captain level shinigami(when he try to kill gin after gin put a huge hole in his body) by simply getting near him and reap gin arms easily by using only a single arm. He did that before transforming monster aizen. Dangai ichigo beat that aizen while clearly still holding back his power. Comparing it to sternritter whose not even close to aizen is not convincing enough. Although, he has more better feats in the anime but I can still imagine dangai ichigo beat bambies without using his sword or doing the same thing of what aizen did to gin. Plus, i'm talking true shikai ichigo before horns of salvation or true bankai.

When we saw how powerful it is when he fought transcended being aizen. There seems to be be people think that true shikai ichigo is powerful than dangai ichigo. Somehow, true shikai is stronger than dangai ichigo. When it shows dangai ichigo has better feats when fought aizen than comparing true shikai ichigo fight against the bambies. The only possible way that bambies is better feat if somehow all of them is as strong as trascended being aizen. Plus, yamamoto is still the strongest shinigami. I'm already not considering aizen and ichigo because clearly they are beyond what we call shinigami at this point. The only person who can challenge this title is zaraki kenpachi.

Some people also disregard the facts that dangai Ichigo is infused with his zanpakto which isn't even heard as soul reapers believe that bankai is peak of zanpakto evolution.
Would love for Ichigo to get at least 2 new abilities with his true bankai or at least use the different soul types within him to create unique abilities only he can use. For example; let's say Ichigo's Fullbring side gets utilized. Because of ichigo's high reiatsu and the fullbringer's basic ability to manipulate the "soul" of matter in almost any inanimate object. • Ichigo can now make clones of himself. By injecting said objects with his reiatsu. It gives him complete control, and the only downside is how much reiatsu he decides to give the clone. • Ichigo can steal the life of any object he touches. With a rare case of him being able to steal the life of a living organism or possibly possess them if he wanted to for some time.

I always had a theory, true shikai Ichigo zanpaktous is his sealed zanpaktous, and his true bankai we saw in the manga at the end is his shikai, cause his shikai is always a big zanpaktou, maybe his true bankai is a katana like his old bankai, and I'm aware his old bankai was a fake one, maybe his true bankai is his quincy form from BBS, which combines his shinigami, hollow and quincy powers, maybe in that form he can conjure a katana similar to his old bankai, similar to how aizen can make his zanpaktou appear out of nowhere, maybe this is the form Kubo will reveal this form in the anime against yhwach in cour 4, well that's just my theory
Was that Uryu's holy form, though? He doesn't have a halo. I always felt it was the imcomplete form similar to what the royal guard activated when Yhwach brought them back.
I feel like it's incomplete. No Halo, no name and he didn't even say Sklaverai when he activated it. And for some reason his whole body was covered with Blut during the activation which I think never happened to the others.

Ichigo’s reiatsu is still mostly restricted here. When he faces Yhwach again, there will be a dialogue explaining how crazy his spiritual pressure increases at that point, so much so that even against what Yhwach refers to as overwhelming power, the power is still within Ichigo’s unrestricted level of power in just shikai. Yhwach saying “you’ve become strong” after already witnessing his power is almost calling Ichigo here weak in comparison.
Ichigo should have high speed regeneration that coupled with blut vene would make his defense crazy. He can also imbue his sword and swords with gt enhancing the strength, cutting power and force of his strikes. He should also have a mix of sonido, flash step and bringer light making just his base speed insane and as part hollow he should have hierro further boosting just his defense. Ichigo should have everything a quincy, shinigami and hollow has and should be capable of doing what they can do.

I was wondering last week why Ichigo's final true Shikai still has a blade even....like Aizen said himself to Ichigo that he fused with his zanpakuto and became one with it like Ichigo had at the time with his post Dangai training form (albeit not fully) and fully through FGT. His zanpakuto disappears and now he can use it's abilities still like Yhwach falling under Kyoka Suigetsu without having to show any zanpakuto release specifically. If Kubo is making changes to the original story from the manga in the anime, could Ichigo's next stage be to fuse with his sword then? That'd be amazing to see Ichigo throwing hands like back in SS arc if only at times. I also like how the extremely strong characters like the Soul King's Left arm (so the SK himself then as well maybe ?), the Yhwach who absorbed both the SK's remains and reiryoku, and (ehehe) R2 Ulquiorra have black reiatsu. Hell arc Ulquiorra and Ukitake return is what keeps me hopeful for hell arc lul.
I wanna see Ichigo learn and use more techniques from all the different race that are part of his makeup; Kido, Quincy spells, Heilig Pfeil, sonido, cero, bala. And I make consciously use them and not a 1 off uses due to his emotional state or Zangetsu taking over.
My question is, why do we distinguish a difference between Quincy and human? Isn’t all quinces human just with the blood of yuwach, and like bounts are humans who have spiriritual pressures strong enough to see hollows and manifest powers based on thier spiritual powers? So if that’s the case quinces and fullbringers are the same human species they just meet different requirements that distinguish who they are?
Fun fact (also a spoiler) when ichigo and orihime approach SK yhwach he says ichigo's SP is so strong and potent that its taking a physical form and acting like a shield, and that's in his true shikai form, pretty much saying that ichigo only goes full power in the 3rd fight against yhwach.
i would actually place him slightly above even Osho. he performed about as well against Yuhabaha as Osho did, the difference is in Zanpakuto. Ichimonji essentially acts as a ""nerf" "gun"". by which i mean, he 𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒔 anyone and anything he splashes with his Ink. so, pretty much the entire fight, Yuhabaha was nerfed. whereas against Ichigo, all that ink had faded away. he was at full power. even his sword was at full power, since the ink on it had also faded. although he mostly just used his Reishi broadsword in that fight. still. also, you kept driving the point home that Ichigo was not trying in his fight against Uryu. this is true. however, it's worth mentioning that Uryu also wasn't trying... to kill Ichigo. mainly, i think he was testing Ichigo. testing his strength and resolve. that's why he said "i will show you, my resolve".
I would argue that Yhwach that fought Ichibe is WAY stronger than Yhwach that killed Yamamoto because he stole the powers of the quincy from below. I really doubt that he used this opportunity to merely restore his power when everyone else got a significant power up. We can see that the power up was significant because Uryu goes from being easily beatedn by Senjumaru's Shikai to putting up a fight inside her already deployed Bankai before using his incomplete holy form or schrift.
All is left for ichigo is to get a proper combat knowledge that is. Man only know how to do one move that sometimes annoying. He has a very huge potential to be wasting it on one move.
I think you’re underestimating Uryu. 1. Uryu isn’t fighting Ichigo with full force, if you read the manga then you should know why he’s holding back on Ichigo. 2. Uryu didn’t use Antithesis which is powerful enough to negate the Almighty. TS Ichigo is equal to Ichibei. They both defeated pre-Almighty Yhwach. Uryu, Lillle Barro, Gerard, and Jugram are more powerful than Ichigo in TS form. Bankai Ichigo is somewhere between near Jugram with Almighty. Because Bankai Ichigo still would’ve lost to SK Yhwach. Aizen nor Ichigo are near that level of power.
True Shikai Ichigo is stronger than Dangai Ichigo. Since White Tensa let off the brakes for the Aizen fight, Ichigo has awakened his Fullbring which merged with his Shinigami and Hollow powers and got a true Shinigami's Zanpakuto rather than the bootleg-ass aarancar-adjacent sword he had most of the series. He's basically awoken to two new dimensions of his power between his bout with Aizen and his final fight with Yhwach as well as had his soul imprint on an asauchi and manifest its own abilities properly. Ergo the amount of spirit energy he has is dramatically higher and his SP has at least doubled. Not to mention he can now utilize quincy and fullbringer powers as well as the new abilities his true zanpakuto grants.
according to me ture shikai ichigo raw power wise is stronger than shikai ichibe and bankai senjumaru and yhwach and if he went full power he would beat all members of shut staffel by just speed blitzing them lol

Because that’s how Ichigo is. He’s kinda Anime’s version of Spider-Man if you will. With Ichigo, killing intent only comes if he witnesses the event directly. We’ve seen this in the series with Ulquiorra (yes Zangetsu was in control but he IS Ichigo, as per the blade is me). The other situation was when Tsukushima brainwashed all his friends. It messed with Ichigo so much that he outright wanted to kill him. In fact, it was the first and only time in the entire series that he stated to want to kill someone. So even though Yhwach is responsible for his mother’s death, Ichigo won’t feel that level of animosity against him beyond the responsibility of having to stop him. Now, say Ywhwach were to kill Orihime in front of Ichigo, well then Yhwach will be manhandled even worse than Ulquiorra was.

Well, Ichigo is a unique case and with him it’s a bit different (and admittedly somewhat vague too). He is in base but is in a constant shikai state. When he wakes up White Zangetsu, he transforms into HOS but is still in shikai. That said, one could say that waking up the zanpakutou spirit IS going into shikai mode…

This video is not from a western youtuber, I'm not from the west myself. And our fanbase has different opinions. The video gave examples that when Ichigo fully realized himself and his powers and went through Irazusando training he should tear everyone down because he's Soul King level. Ichigo just took pity on the Bambi Squad and merely ripped off Candice's arm with his Getsuga. Also the fact that he humiliatingly lost to Yhwach in the second round, even though the anime literally showed that Ichigo's True Shikai is stronger than base Yhwach , with him destroying Yhwach's absolute defense Sankt Zwinger with his Getsuga as you said. And only with Almighty turned on did Yhwach become stronger than True Shikai, which is logical. So I don’t understand this take at all. They make it clear that Ichigo won against the base Yhwach. Then Almighty won against Ichigo. Then he gave an example that it was strange that Ichigo killed the Soul King and how he did it. Considering that Ichigo was the only one who could kill him and Yhwach saw the outcome of this future and what Ichigo would do. I didn't understand this take also. In Ichigo's new battle against Ishida, he said that Ichigo should have speedblitzed him and that's it. And the fact that he didn’t fight seriously and didn’t dare to harm him didn’t bother him. And keep in mind that since his involvement in TYBW, in just the span of like 2-3 days Ichigo discovers his true heritage, gets his full power unlocked and ran back to the battlefield to save all of reality. It’s not like he had time to properly train and really get used to his powers.
So even though his current showing seems impressive, the truth is that Ichigo is very much a noob that doesn’t know how to truly utilize his power. He outright says it himself in his final fight against Yuha.
This is why we don’t see him do things we know he SHOULD be doing like high speed regeneration after he got shot by Uryu. Or combining Blut Vene with Hierro (hell, he doesn’t use HIERRO at all), or use Blut arterie while attacking. Or combine shunpo, sonido and hirenkyaku to create near teleport like speed like Hikone did in CFYOW. Or reiatsu crush opponents and their abilities like Aizen does.
You get the point right? What Ichigo lacks isn’t really “hax” defense. He simply lacks full mastery over all of his abilities so that he CAN negate other abilities.

He explains that yhwach scattered pieces of his soul across the Sereitei during the first invasion and that everyone including shinigami and quincy who's died since the first invasion and the war started has only served to make yhwach more powerful. People ignore this for no reason which I cannot understand. That yhwach is far beyond the yhwach that fought yamamoto.
People like to claim that Royd was too weak compared to yamamoto but that's not true. Yhwach believed that royd who had 70-80% of his base power at that time was strong enough to fight yamamoto and stall him and make him tire himself out using his bankai and he was correct. Yamamoto used all his bankai abilities against Royd. Another thing to note, Ichigo was never trying to kill any of the Sternritters. The only person he was truly after was the main boss of the enemy, Yhwach. Which is very in character for Ichigo.
17:31 There is an ability that works like that. It’s called reiatsu negation. Kenpachi introduced it early in the series when ichigo could not cut him. Ichigo also showcased that as well by having a reiatsu so much higher than aizen that he could slap a full incantation black coffin and catch aizen’s sword.
Im glad they are fleshing out how powerful ichigo really is , his manga showings were always so-so . And while we're on the subject i hope people realize now Askin is NOT on ichigos level . Everytime the subject comes up i have to explain that ichigo was clearly not serious / going for the kill against askin and thats how he managed to drop ichigo in the manga . We've seen him fight now 3 times post royal training including against Ywach and he held back massively in each fight . Thats the only reason asking didnt get one shot. He has a good schrift but thats about it .
Even with the Askin situation in the manga, the clear implication was that Ichigo got surprise attacked by Askin somehow. The biggest thing supporting this is the fact that when Yoruichi came to rescue them from the poison, Ichigo just stood up as though nothing happened and didn’t need healing. Yoruichi then comments that she’s not surprised that he’s already up. The people who downplay Ichigo because of Askin never take the full context into consideration.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. Dangai ichigo beat aizen easily, Before he even using final getsuga tenshou. We're talking about aizen whose powerful enough to solo the entire gotei 13 except Yamamoto before becoming trascended being, He can even hurt captain level shinigami(when he try to kill gin after gin put a huge hole in his body) by simply getting near him and reap gin arms easily by using only a single arm. He did that before transforming monster aizen. Dangai ichigo beat that aizen while clearly still holding back his power. Comparing it to sternritter whose not even close to aizen is not convincing enough.
Although, he has more better feats in the anime but I can still imagine dangai ichigo beat bambies without using his sword or doing the same thing of what aizen did to gin.

Would love for Ichigo to get at least 2 new abilities with his true bankai or at least use the different soul types within him to create unique abilities only he can use.
For example; let's say Ichigo's Fullbring side gets utilized. Because of ichigo's high reiatsu and the fullbringer's basic ability to manipulate the "soul" of matter in almost any inanimate object.
• Ichigo can now make clones of himself. By injecting said objects with his reiatsu. It gives him complete control, and the only downside is how much reiatsu he decides to give the clone.
• Ichigo can steal the life of any object he touches. With a rare case of him being able to steal the life of a living organism or possibly possess them if he wanted to for some time.

I always had a theory, true shikai Ichigo zanpaktous is his sealed zanpaktous, and his true bankai we saw in the manga at the end is his shikai, cause his shikai is always a big zanpaktou, maybe his true bankai is a katana like his old bankai, and I'm aware his old bankai was a fake one, maybe his true bankai is his quincy form from BBS, which combines his shinigami, hollow and quincy powers, maybe in that form he can conjure a katana similar to his old bankai, similar to how aizen can make his zanpaktou appear out of nowhere, maybe this is the form Kubo will reveal this form in the anime against yhwach in cour 4, well that's just my theory

Ichigo’s reiatsu is still mostly restricted here. When he faces Yhwach again, there will be a dialogue explaining how crazy his spiritual pressure increases at that point, so much so that even against what Yhwach refers to as overwhelming power, the power is still within Ichigo’s unrestricted level of power in just shikai. Yhwach saying “you’ve become strong” after already witnessing his power is almost calling Ichigo here weak in comparison.
Ichigo should have high speed regeneration that coupled with blut vene would make his defense crazy. He can also imbue his sword and swords with gt enhancing the strength, cutting power and force of his strikes. He should also have a mix of sonido, flash step and bringer light making just his base speed insane and as part hollow he should have hierro further boosting just his defense. Ichigo should have everything a quincy, shinigami and hollow has and should be capable of doing what they can do.
This is an off topic comment but a random question I lack the answer to.

I was wondering last week why Ichigo's final true Shikai still has a blade even....like Aizen said himself to Ichigo that he fused with his zanpakuto and became one with it like Ichigo had at the time with his post Dangai training form (albeit not fully) and fully through FGT. His zanpakuto disappears and now he can use it's abilities still like Yhwach falling under Kyoka Suigetsu without having to show any zanpakuto release specifically. If Kubo is making changes to the original story from the manga in the anime, could Ichigo's next stage be to fuse with his sword then? That'd be amazing to see Ichigo throwing hands like back in SS arc if only at times.
I also like how the extremely strong characters like the Soul King's Left arm (so the SK himself then as well maybe ?), the Yhwach who absorbed both the SK's remains and reiryoku, and (ehehe) R2 Ulquiorra have black reiatsu. Hell arc Ulquiorra and Ukitake return is what keeps me hopeful for hell arc lul.
I wanna see Ichigo learn and use more techniques from all the different race that are part of his makeup; Kido, Quincy spells, Heilig Pfeil, sonido, cero, bala. And I make consciously use them and not a 1 off uses due to his emotional state or Zangetsu taking over.

i would actually place him slightly above even Osho. he performed about as well against Yuhabaha as Osho did, the difference is in Zanpakuto. Ichimonji essentially acts as a ""nerf" "gun"". by which i mean, he 𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒔 anyone and anything he splashes with his Ink. so, pretty much the entire fight, Yuhabaha was nerfed. whereas against Ichigo, all that ink had faded away. he was at full power. even his sword was at full power, since the ink on it had also faded. although he mostly just used his Reishi broadsword in that fight. still.
also, you kept driving the point home that Ichigo was not trying in his fight against Uryu. this is true. however, it's worth mentioning that Uryu also wasn't trying... to kill Ichigo. mainly, i think he was testing Ichigo. testing his strength and resolve. that's why he said "i will show you, my resolve".

I would argue that Yhwach that fought Ichibe is WAY stronger than Yhwach that killed Yamamoto because he stole the powers of the quincy from below. I really doubt that he used this opportunity to merely restore his power when everyone else got a significant power up. We can see that the power up was significant because Uryu goes from being easily beatedn by Senjumaru's Shikai to putting up a fight inside her already deployed Bankai before using his incomplete holy form or schrift.

I think you’re underestimating Uryu. 1. Uryu isn’t fighting Ichigo with full force, if you read the manga then you should know why he’s holding back on Ichigo. 2. Uryu didn’t use Antithesis which is powerful enough to negate the Almighty. TS Ichigo is equal to Ichibei. They both defeated pre-Almighty Yhwach. Uryu, Lillle Barro, Gerard, and Jugram are more powerful than Ichigo in TS form. Bankai Ichigo is somewhere between near Jugram with Almighty. Because Bankai Ichigo still would’ve lost to SK Yhwach. Aizen nor Ichigo are near that level of power.

Since White Tensa let off the brakes for the Aizen fight, Ichigo has awakened his Fullbring which merged with his Shinigami and Hollow powers and got a true Shinigami's Zanpakuto rather than the bootleg-ass aarancar-adjacent sword he had most of the series.
He's basically awoken to two new dimensions of his power between his bout with Aizen and his final fight with Yhwach as well as had his soul imprint on an asauchi and manifest its own abilities properly. Ergo the amount of spirit energy he has is dramatically higher and his SP has at least doubled. Not to mention he can now utilize quincy and fullbringer powers as well as the new abilities his true zanpakuto grants.

Because that’s how Ichigo is. He’s kinda Anime’s version of Spider-Man if you will. With Ichigo, killing intent only comes if he witnesses the event directly. We’ve seen this in the series with Ulquiorra (yes Zangetsu was in control but he IS Ichigo, as per the blade is me).
The other situation was when Tsukushima brainwashed all his friends. It messed with Ichigo so much that he outright wanted to kill him. In fact, it was the first and only time in the entire series that he stated to want to kill someone.
So even though Yhwach is responsible for his mother’s death, Ichigo won’t feel that level of animosity against him beyond the responsibility of having to stop him. Now, say Ywhwach were to kill Orihime in front of Ichigo, well then Yhwach will be manhandled even worse than Ulquiorra was.

Well, Ichigo is a unique case and with him it’s a bit different (and admittedly somewhat vague too). He is in base but is in a constant shikai state. When he wakes up White Zangetsu, he transforms into HOS but is still in shikai.
That said, one could say that waking up the zanpakutou spirit IS going into shikai mode…

And only with Almighty turned on did Yhwach become stronger than True Shikai, which is logical. So I don’t understand this take at all. They make it clear that Ichigo won against the base Yhwach. Then Almighty won against Ichigo. Then he gave an example that it was strange that Ichigo killed the Soul King and how he did it. Considering that Ichigo was the only one who could kill him and Yhwach saw the outcome of this future and what Ichigo would do. I didn't understand this take also. In Ichigo's new battle against Ishida, he said that Ichigo should have speedblitzed him and that's it. And the fact that he didn’t fight seriously and didn’t dare to harm him didn’t bother him. This was a strange decision for him and he said that this battle in the anime brought out more problem for Ichigo's character that was already in the manga. Then there was an example, in his opinion, of a shameful moment with Aksin where Ichigo turns into a carpet. Well, of course, the final battle with Yhwach, where he did nothing at all and did not contribute to this victory in his opinion.
