'Training Superman Flight' Featurette
Superman reappears after a long absence, but is challenged by an old foe who uses Kryptonian technology for world domination. - Кино
There is something about Brandon that just screams 'heart of gold' which is exactly what superman is. Love this actor.
I'm with ya 100% he did a great job you could almost imagine his supes being Christopher Reeves
@@jeremyjeconner5422 agreed,i mean look at crisis on infinite earths, just sayin' 🙂
Brandon so awesome after reeve he das te second anda not easy forma hin but Brandon do ir easy cause he admire mucho todo reeve and excepto kevin the rest of actors have all my respect bad director and scripts come on rouht deserves another chance the best for everyting blessings brandon cause you done it a job awesome just you could me to thikng in reeve andaba mad me cry but.you had your own stile thanks so much blessings
@@jeremyjeconner5422 ironic considering that’s who he’s meant to be
but i dont think he could pull off the menacing totalitarian superman that lost louis lane .. Henry Cavil seems to be able to project an angrier superman like he has been put under a spell and we all know superman has a blindspot where magik is concerned
I think the wire flying looks much better than digital flying . It looks more natural and believable to me.
air does not have the same resistance as water. therefore, it would not look natural to copy the movements that were in the water for movement in the air
Wire flying for the hovering and slower flying scenes and digital flying for high speed ones
Superman Returns still has one of the best Superman's flying scene ever.
It IS the best, and really hasn't been duplicated since.
It also has one of the best "yeah, I didn't feel that" scenes in the pistol shot to the eyeball. Way to see the crowbar to the head scene in STM and raise.
Absolutely and without forgetting the marvelous sound that go along the superman's flying, so satisfying.
This moment from the film looks so damn awesome, the sudden stop and body positioning... ruclips.net/video/XFSoqRHw8C8/видео.html
True
Fun fact: The way Superman flies by putting one arm down to turn/arms to the side when going faster was invented by christopher reeve.
Oh really? I'll be damn.
got to say..Brandon is so tall here in comparison to other crews and frankly he looks majestic 🌻
Superman is officially 6 ft 4 in, so yeah.
all this definitely paid off, superman returns has the most beautiful flight movement ever made
Daniele Messina totally reason my brother
But it still had a lot of CGI though.
@@AerysTMD yes but the practical flying movements make it noticibly more real, unlike the new DCEU henry cavill supermans flightscene which was all CGI and looked unreal
Just_a_Person _123 it was a freakin' CGI, of course it looked unreal...what do you expect? Unless you have something from future that can help the filming industry to make something "real". Like flying cars or jet boots or the real ironman suit.
@@crimsoncomet3756 i just meant the dceu man of steel used a much more noticable amount of cgi then the superman returns flying scenes
It amazing how much Routh resembled Chris Reeves. The one thing Reeves had over Routh's Superman is when Reeves was flying he actually looked like he was in control of what he was doing.
There are some shots in the movie where he is sooooo dead on it's uncanny. I didn't realise he was so buff either. I think the suit kind of muted his sculpting, as I never felt he was terribly big in the suit, but in this featurette he looks a lot bigger.
knytrydr73 that's because Reeved was into hang-gliding do he was used to being in that kind of situation, being strapped and suspended while using his body to maneuver
Damon Davis correction. Henry doesnt look like Reeves.
Not to sound like a dick, but people love to put an s on Christopher's name. It was Reeve, not Reeves. Maybe you're confusing him with TV'S superman George Reeves. The only time an s should be at the end is with an apostrophe, if you want to make his name possessive. Like Reeve's movies or Reeve's foundation.
knytrydr73 plus reeves is just plain amazing
Superman Returns, while it has its issues, is highly underrated
I liked the swimming effect of his flying, but I also like Cavill's raw power especially with the take offs.
I remember cavil raw take off. There is one scene when he told louis to step back farther. But later in one scene where they land on the field and he heard his mom in danger he raw take off even when louis just only a hug distance. so much for raw take off lol.
Cavill sucks in every way
Wish they'd put this much effort into script.
Gireesh Dashhare Exactly!!!! The would have been gold. It lacked a story.
I came here just to post that.
Gireesh Dashhare exactly! I would like to know what happened to lan from sm3
Routh is more like Reeve, too bad the story lacked strength.
Brandon did an awesome job as Clark, wow...so mich like Reeve it was chilling. Henry was a great superman, bt Brandon was a way better Clark
Watching this just underscores the fact that having a good screenplay is the most important part of the filmmaking process.
Brendon was the perfect successor. Perfect superman, wish he got more credit and more movies.
I loved Brandon Routh as superman he actually looks like a superman and you can't tell Clark and superman are the same people. he looks so different as Clark and acts so clumsy and superman hair was perfect unlike Henry Cavil he looks the same as superman and Clark. only wish the movie had a better script
Erm Clark and Kal El are the same person lol
@@obsidian8180 can you prove this?
Christopher Reeve or Henry Cavill or Brandon Rooth choose one
Anybody see Nicholas Cage in Superman suit?.. Check it out... 😎😎😎
@@newbornxox3976let's wait for his cameo in the Flash movie...
Say what you want about Superman Returns
But the film influenced my life and helped me become an all-time Superman fan
That and Man of Steel too.
And Think about it Bryan Singer the director of X-Men directed Superman now that's a crossover I liked to see
I like him as Superman!
Brandon deserved soooooo much more, and more sequels. My fav of all time will always be Christopher Reeves (for classics), and Tom Welling (for series/young Supes), but Brandon brought back that Christopher Reeves magic with his mannerism, looks and just everything that makes Superman , Superman!🐱🏍
Is why they need to quit playing n bring him back instead of tryna make superman look like a video game
If ONLY they would also do a Multiverse of Superman crossover event movie like how they're bringing in Keaton for Batman in Flash movie. Would be nice if Brandon's met (Much nicer guy, comic book like portrayal) vs Cavil's (grittier, less comic book) to compare notes of Life, Love and Living as Superman.
he did not deserve to be put in a movie trying to continue the story of donner superman, and then his suit is just wasted and maroon. fuck this movie was trash
He was a good superman in a bad movie
In very very very bad movie.
Yep.
Relax hotshot.
It was a somber, melancholy, slow paced film for those who can appreciate it for what it is. As opposed to people who are accustomed to being entertained by blaring noise and spectacle; MOS.
*Just because it wasn't what you wanted it to be, doesn't mean it's overall "bad", whatever that means.*
I do NOT like Man of Steel, but I'd never call it "bad", just wasn't for me; It's a decent sci-fi movie, great music, cool concepts with poor executions, all with A character that went by "Superman", A Superman.
But it was not a good Superman film nor a good representation of the character vs Superman Returns where we deal with the fact that Supes abandoned Lois & The World to go chase after a Dead Krypton out in space, my biggest issue with this movie. (Being the reason he left.)
Yet, when he does come back there are consequences to his absence, and his Dad doesn't tell him "you can save them all" then he proceeds to kill thousands via a fist fight. None of that.
He saves lives, not at the expense of lives, and almost killed himself lifting a trillion ton+ Island, made of KRYPTONITE, incredible. My Superman.
I can appreciate that about this movie, thus in spite of it's own problems, still imo better.
L K
It was a decent movie, it just doesn't feel like superman, in my personal opinion personally
@@pbmultiverse543 personal opinion personally...
Returns is my favorite Superman movie. Wish they continued with Routh in the rol.
So underrated.
petergrifindor no henry is better
Pre Retcon Beyonder my opinion. No, MY opinion! noooo MY OPINION IS CORRECT!! Just shutup and do something else..
totally agree Routh is way better..Cavill sucks
Agree. Cavill is good, but Routh was better.
the gay cirque de soliel coach guy probably got mad that routh did not like him in the gay sense
They should bring him back as Superman!
With the new director of course.
And a new Lex Luthor. . . . Of couse.
bro dc is bringing in multiverse of course if he aggresses at some point they might bring him one again on screen
@@sidnkm YES!! Hey, Bro, imagine if he appears as a cameo in The Flash movie!!
I really love this guy as a superman 🤩
He has the best Hair out of all of the Supermen ! God bless Brandon Routh and his Hair!
Really brandon rougth is smart and good personality actor.
That looked like so much fun 😂
I think the scene of Superman rescuing the airplane before it crashed into the stadium was the best scene yet from ANY of the Superman movies! I miss the bright red & blue costumes ~ it made Superman look like a good-guy, not dark and evil.
Well, MoS' didn't look evil... but the lighting was depressing...
Todd P. Boa tarde Bud Spencer como é que tá as coisas por aí Manda um abraço para o seu parceiro do filme 😎👍👍👍
I think the flight scene and oil rig scene in MoS showed superman's powers better than any in film as of yet, but that plane rescue scene was great.
Greatest Superman sequence imo is the first flight in MoS
Yea but the bright and colourful setting wouldn't have fit the realistic theme of the movie. Remember superman isn't meant to look as comical in man of steel. The movie was trying to show you what superman would look like if he was real and show you what it would really be like having an alien flying around
I liked this movie alot, which is why I scrambled to buy it once it was available in stores.
I felt Brandon Routh did a good job emulating Christopher Reeves' Clark Kent/Superman.
Certain aspects weren't great, but I was hoping for a sequel.
Why did people not like Brandon? I liked the guy playing the character. Chris Reeve is my favorite actor still to this day, and i approved Brandon as a replacement. I dont really care much for Cavill.
Henry hasnt done much though, i mean Brandon didnt either but he nailed Clark. Its so much pressure to know you are getting the roll of superman, a roll not many actors will ever get the chance to do. But, Man of Steel doesnt really play on the Clark Kent: reporter much. I dunno, i think Henry does a good job given he hasnt done much before that. But i think Henry was an awesome superman and Brandon was an awesome Clark. I think Henry will develop more as Justice League starts to form. Im willing to wait and see how he comes around. Even though there has already been two movies, they still have a lot more to do as long as things keep moving forward
Yeah he's better than Cavill for sure but both are cursed with terrible movies.
Cavill is just lame as Superman, guys who like to see shit destroyed and explosions are the ones who like Cavil's Superman, guys like me who care about the actual character being shown on screen, don't.
@@LianCasablacks actually I liked Man of Steel because they humanized the character making him feel more real and believable while finding a new, fresh way to retell his story. They took the time to make his growth and character arc feel natural so we can see him rise from an ordinary guy, to a guy who finds his place and accepts who he is. But good job generalizing an entire fanbase simply because you couldnt understand why they like something you dont
Brandon was fine. The problem was the whole film was just a pale imitation of Donner's film. It didnt offer anything new, it felt like it was just trying to copy Reeves and hope that people would be driven by nostalgia to see the film. Its not terrible, but it is weak. With a better script and director the film couldve been better
Routh's hair is perfect. (Cavill is getting too bald for playing Superman... 😂)
I still have his poster calendar in my room..
I love Brandon very much..

Richard Donner was a genius back in '78 making us believe a man could fly if Christopher Reeve only had this back then what Brandon is doing would've been 🔥🔥
Brandon Routh moved almost like Christopher Reeve, but sounded like him when he spoke.
I liked Rouths posture than Cavills.....
Manofsteel 87 yo pass the weed bro
trha2222 Wha???
@trha2222 Probably because Cavill can't act and is used to being on the thick side.
Not sure what youre talkig about. Routh looked really stiff in his flight sequences. Cavill's flight sequences properly grasped the power of Superman without looking uncomfortable. His flight felt a lot more natural and believable
You don't like henry cavill
He is solid superman.needs another chance
He was by far the best Superman since Reeve .
This is still a cool process to watch none the less, just wish the movie had turned out not as boring
Hes a big man. Perfect fit for Superman.
You know what is beautiful? Every Superman afterwards was influenced by Christopher Reeve.
It turned out beautifully. Brandon was perfect. Looking every bit the Superman he was obviously born to play.
Serious props to Terry Notary for helping these actors develop the character's personality through their movements. Loved what he contributed in the Tolkien movies.
Routh was just magnificent at his role...
Random in his prime was the perfect Superman. Tall, majestic, pure-hearted...my god was it wasted on that film. Love the dude
He could still nail it!
I had so much fun watching behind the scenes ☺
Indeed A great Movie
Looking back, Superman Returns was an amazing movie with great actors. The story though.... was not terrible just a little weak. But still better than what we have now
Kalyn & Robert I agree!! I think it’s just times have changed over the years unfortunately... I think that a lot people want way more action and faster paced movies than the older styled ones were like.. This film did remind me of the Christopher Reeve ones and I personally like Superman Returns better than the Man of Steel.
that movie was terrible, and the acting sucked. what are you talking about?
You Trynna say that this crap is better than Man of Steel
The casting was good (with the exception of Lois IMO) but the screenplay was terrible. The plot was okay but very poorly executed when the camera's were rolling. Not to mention the fact that Superman has a child(out of wedlock), which he never has in the comics and that he wasn't around for and didn't know about. Quite a divergence from the Superman fans knew and loved
And that isn't even to mention the fact that they tried to make it a romance while simultaneously depicting him as a creepy stalker/peeper in the most uneventful and action-less Superman film ever.
Routh and Spacey were it's saving grace. I didn't think Routh would have played the role well at all, but he proved me wrong. He was nearly perfect, especially for the fans of the original films. It's too bad we will never get to see Routh play in a real Superman film, for Superman fans, and not another film portrayed as a romance that's supposed to be an action/thriller.
Great breakdown of the work. 2:34 reminds me of his flying scene as he was using his heat vision to incinerate falling glass in order to protect the crowds during the chaos in Metropolis. Loved this movie.
i liked this movie....
Great work. My fav superman movie
thanks man
great actor but sadly that movie ruin his movie acting career
To be honest it helped his acting career. He was a nobody before Superman, at least now he has the gig of the Atom on Arrow and then Legends
Craig N that's more of a downgrade. He's more of a c-list character
He played superman again during crisis on infinite earths
Shu nah he's working fairly regularly
nope, not at all
Este señor merece interpretar a superman a lo grande, con todo lo que es superman.
I remembered when they announced the new superman, I just wondered why he was replaced. His face just looks like the iconic superman. Cavill did set the bar higher probably with the right director and script and a break from the superman looks. Hope he gets another marvel or dc hero break. It's been a while.
Never seen this before. This is amazing background footage.
Absolutely fabulous
This guy was also a great Superman!!!!
Bradon Routh is so perfect , He should be up there with all the great actors , Tom Cruise is not as good looking as him but was lucky to last for so long and made hundred thousands dollars
This is so cool!
I miss Brian S movies... I wish he had the funds/support to create one more Superman film with poor Ruth, dude totally got burned. 😕
Brandon was awesome as Superman the only problem was the story line of the movie also the script and the villain too... Poor Brandon being put at the wrong movie that make him so weak as Superman...🙌🙏🙌
He was the perfect superman in the wrong movie you can actually feel like this could be all star superman
This is so good
The shooting movies behind scene is full of hard working respect for it
This is more incredible than the movie itself. 🤔
Geeezz,...my ultimate crush...the best superman among all the superman characters.... With or without costume.he really looks like a real superman...effortless...
At the end he did those take off and landings so well and gracefully, even though you can see the harness and wires, it looks like superman!
An underrated movie, and interpretation of the character. I loved it because Superman Returns was about Superman the person, not the seeming destruction porn superhero films have become.
this was cool
to bad the movie was trash
Even those training was seen like, really he was flying
Still think it was a good film
brandon routh put so much effort into the movie, sadly it didn't pay off as expected
Cool Video 👍😎.
Superman Returns is Great 🙄
This superman is freakin' handsome
Man Brandon Routh is huge, look how tall the guy is
Wow!!!!
Lot of work!!!!
I like this superman movie and hero
Wow 👍
I have always said this but he really was not only a great Superman but a great Clark. Not t since C. Reeves and Dean Cain has there been and equal of the characters. And Brandon is just amazing. People can Bash this movie but I loved it.
This sooooo cool especially when he in the pool 🏊
He even sounds like Christopher Reeves. wth? This guy should be Superman, always.
Superman returns had the best flying effects
👏👏👏 bravo Brandon!!
Roth was good.. director script sucked
directer maded xmen , remember warner bother
I collected superman returns because of brandon routh is a special perfect superman figure and perfect clark kent. Aside from the not too good movie directing.
**Routh**
Dean Cain & Brandon route my best favorite actors of Superman & I love DC comics ever;-)
I feel so bad for BR, he really put efforts in those movies
Brandon is a great Superman!
Ele é lindo ❤❤
Brandon was an outstanding superman. Wish he was still in the role.
Yeah, that sucked at least he is Atom in "DC's Legends Of Tomorrow" and reprised his Superman role in "Crisis On Infinite Earths."
I liked the film! 🙏
And now he's atom fantastic
I absolutely love Brandon Routh !!!!!🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🥰🥰🥰🥰
Flying scenes in this movie are Wayyyy !! better than MoS , period!!
este superman tava mais para supermocorongo isso sim puta filme brabo
"He's not this hulking, musclebound, flexing guy" uum, yeah, yeah he is, read a comic, Superman is jacked and always has been.
They were talking about his flying style, the hulking, musclebound, flexing guy, that means that he wasn’t rough on the way of flying. He was gentle and had a elegant posture when flying
Llyd ap Dicter he has never been portrayed as the most muscular superhero, nor one of the most muscular superheroes, he has always been up there with the others (maybe slightly bigger if you want).
He is huge and shredded just because the standard for a strong body changed throughout the decades. They raised the muscularity of every superhero because the most powerful guys on the planet couldn't be smaller than every elite bodybuilder.
But superman is not defined by his size like others. What the guy said was perfectly accurate.
Brandon Routh is jacked, but he's not Lou Ferrigno level.
No. Superman is not the Hulk.
While you're 100% correct, and I thought the exact same thing when that guy said that, I think he was referring to people who have played Superman. Henry Cavill is the first comic book accurate utterly ripped man of steel. Even Reeves wasn't that jacked.
Amazing that Christopher Reeve did this all by himself
Ver y good CHRISTOPHER REEVE IS SUPERMAN.. FOREVER!!
People say this movie is bad but I really enjoyed it🤷🏾♂️
I met Brandon Routh at a con in June 2017, he was a really nice, charming guy. But I'm getting mileage out of this for the rest of my life; I'm 6'2" and I was maybe a hair taller than he was. When we pose for a picture, he not rudely but firmly puts his arm around my shoulder and pushes me down so I look about two inches shorter than he is in the picture.
A magia do cinema
Now i know why its look so realistic... 😯😯
I would love to see him back as Superman if Cavill is not available. Idk why they didn’t make Cavill’s sequel, a big missed opportunity.
Superman Returns showed the best flying effect of the super, even surpassing what was shown in more recent films if the effects team that worked on Super Men Returns worked on all the character's flights the DC films would have a result much better.
El mejor actor y pelicula despues de Cristofer R. Deseo que vuelva me encanto la pelicula y el actor un 10 felicitaciones. Un gran saludos desde Chile.
Terry Notary has blown up in the mo-cap business these days!
