The Ages Overdrive is a massively versatile overdrive machine standing at the ready for any amp and pickup combination that is thrown at it. This is an overdrive with innovative features that can stand on its own and stack well with other drives. The Ages offers five gain states.
The five-position rotary knob offers the following gain states:
I. Low-gain mode with symmetric silicon soft clipping. Compressed and smooth.
II. Low-gain mode with symmetric LED soft clipping. Pushed, open, and sparkly.
III. High-gain mode with symmetric silicon soft clipping. Increased saturation and tight.
IV. High-gain mode with symmetric LED soft clipping. Saturated, punchy and big.
V. High-gain mode with symmetric silicon hard clipping. Heavy compression, thick and chewy.
Think of each position as a different “flavor” of the pedal. Fine-tune each of these gain states with the dry knob for a near infinite supply of gain options.
Gear be damned, your playing is enough reason to be here.
Yep. I no longer have gigs or a budget for gear, but I still enjoy everything Mike does!
I agree with that. I absolutely don't care the gear demoed I'm here for the playing! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much!
John Horne I really appreciate it!
Jamie Fifthring Thank you!
Mike Hermans & RJ Ronquillo need to form a band,...The Pedal Pushers! So smooth. So groove. So good! Thank you, Mike!
I second this. Also Tom Bukovac!
This one sounds great! And it sounds like it plays well under the fingers!
I for one am happy to see another OD... all fuzzed out.
My board is in serious danger of becoming all Walrus at this point. Looks like I found the pedal to replace my OCD.
same.
You make my favorite reviews dude
Great arrangement (as always) Mike!
Jaketone Thanks!
I always especially love your Beatles and Radiohead arrangements.
Jonathan Gasper Thank you! 2 of my all time favorite songwriters
@@popintothechemist mine too.
Fantastic arrangement for 'come together'. I'd pay for the tab..... Really creative. I think yer making the pedal sound good, rather than the other way around....
Great sounding pedal with even better playing!
I love this Beatles' song. And I like Aerosmith's version too. Great playing, Mike.
Thanks! I like Aerosmith’s version as well
Another awesome review from you! You do really love Beatles! Go for an hour Beatles Marathon 😊😁
Nice, I haven't played with a pedal in a while. Just some gain and tone... Think I'll check one of these out.
Thanks 😊
I never considered Walrus Audio during my OD search but I randomly purchased the Plumes and Westwood and they are both killer. I might have to get this one as well!
Plumes and Westwood are EQD pedals
I love boss pedals so much I got a flint!
Can you please do a stand alone bass demo of this. They’ve released a clean blend overdrive and not a solo bass demo in sight :( I really want to pull the trigger on it but would like to hear it first
Thinking of replacing my Super Phat Mod with this one... Seems much more versatile.
una maravilla... crece mi adiccion a los overdrivers... Mike!!!! ;D
I hear hints of jim campilongo and I like it.
He’s a huge recent influence. Saw him live in Boston about a week before this Covid mess hit.
@@popintothechemist You're nailing it, man! Love your playing!
Is this TS based? What do you think the origin or inspiration could be?
Pedals not my jam, but damn Mike your playing sure is! Do you have any work recorded with a band or yourself I could pick up?
Im a bit late here but .. I just got this pedal recently, love it a lot but ... i play into a medium gained amp, and push it with the ages, it's brilliant in every mode, but the dry mix is barely if at all noticeable ?? is it that subtle ?? nice playing btw 👍
Does it cleans up well by touch dynamics or rolling back the volume?
Walrus Gumboot!
Does this pedal work with clean amps like the Fender Twin ?.. What are you playing through on this demo ?
Super clean Two Rock SP50. Yes- will work great with clean amps
I just picked up the Plumes this week and this comes out ... :(
I don't think there's double the price worth of variation in it from the plumes to invest the extra money. (I own the plumes too).
Haven’t tried the Plumes... this one is extremely versatile and has more tonal variations from what I’ve heard
Gotta love the Beatles
Does anyone know if this pushes an amp similar to how a OD-808 does?
This or the morning glory?
I have the same question!
I found this video, maybe you have already seen it. The gain boost of the Morning Glory isn't used...

Just saw this. I had the MG. I love jhs but didn’t like the MG. This is totally different. Has 5 stages of gain from low to high. MG barely had any gain it was more of a klon clone. Different beasts. This I like and kept.
@@jklmopqtstuvwxyz5349 I actually changed my Utube name and have the morning glory v4 but with the moonshine. The combo pedal and to me it sounds better for some reason. I like it a lot so disregard my other post. I may have had one of the first versions of the MG and I just didn’t think it had any gain. V4 does imo.
A-picky-picky-picky!!
Playing is great obviously.... this pedal is an absolute screamer....
