Laurien you are doing amazing, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed sometimes, especially when there’s so much going on! There’s lots of changes happening in your lives and things will get easier in time. You’ve got a great attitude through it all and you all love each other a lot, it will be ok!
You are right about sticking to a routine with the children. I think it is harder when you have the children at different schools as the routine has to change and sometimes change is hard. You always seem to cope very well with having 6 children and I really enjoy your videos, they are very natural xx
I think it’s totally understandable that you feel overwhelmed Laurien, you have a very busy life with a lot of people depending on you. It will improve. I think when you can move and get more living space it will help so much. Definitely having time just to shower & do your hair makes me feel better too and I’m not as busy as you. It's frustrating feeling frustrated/overwhelmed 😂 Just be patient as it will all fall into place, that's what I tell myself anyway! Take the pressure off yourself as you are not superwoman and take comfort than most of us feel the exact same. I think the start of Yr 7 is the biggest transition imo. It does get easier as my eldest has settled this year in Yr 8 really well. Last year tested me to the limit! Sending love as you are doing amazing xx

I'm exactly the same with Archie being at secondary. I want him to be independent but it's hard to leave them completely to it if you know they're going to forget stuff! You are such a great mum ❤❤

You’re bound to be overwhelmed with all your lovely family. Now Cosmo is at Secondary school he must organise himself re homework. When he gets in change out of uniform then see whether he can start homework before tea if he doesn’t have much can always finish off after tea. Then make sure he’s got his bag ready for school next day including any sports kit when needed. If he forgets anything and has detention he won’t do it again. It’s difficult when you have lack of space and he has younger siblings around. Don’t worry yourself,do what you can and try to find 5 mins to yourself to relax before starting again. As the children get older and you have much bigger home life will get much easier. Love you lots xx💕💕

I know you feel overwhelmed and this will end soon but if you need to let something go let it go if the house gets a little messy have the older ones help you pick up stuff but just take your time take it easy make it easy for you if you have to stop and you do a grocery haul for an hour or so come back to it do that

Just an idea for Cosmo but what about a checklist by his bed for the obvious things he needs for that day. A wiper board so it can be altered. Also take him on a date just you and him or your husband and him, getting older and change to secondary is difficult, maybe a bit of one and one time will help him adjust. You are all a super family btw. ❤
Enjoy them being while you can they soon grow up ii have 8 and when they grow up you miss that company, it may seem hard you are doing a great job, and what you put in now you will be bringing up a lovely family and it's worth it, no one is superwoman, we all do our best

Secondary school is another level laurien, my daughter is in yr 9 she doesnt worry to much about homework as she does some everynight as soon as she gets in from school. my son is currently in year 6. so next year i know im going to be really stressed as he has additional needs. I find schools dont understand. Older children need their own space to do their homework etc. I totally get you its hard actually having to think for everyone else in the household. Also older children need to take on more dependance to do things alone & take responsibilitys. Cant cosmo go to school by himself then that would take some of the load of you.
Yes they do need their space he usually does it when all the little ones are in bed so it means bedtime has to be very strict to routine. He has just started walking to school this week! He actually asked to and enjoyed it yesterday bringing some conkers back to show everyone haha. I hope your son settles OK and the school do help when he starts next year xx

The fact you no longer want to live in the house you initially put an offer in, shows it really wasn’t the house for you. I do believe things happen for a reason and when the time is right the right house will come along. 🙂 As for feeling overwhelmed? That’s completely normal considering your current circumstances. You’re decorating your home to put on the market, I know I’d feel unsettled in your shoes as you’re sort of in limbo until you find the property you want to buy. You’ve then got to sell this one and get everything finalised…then there’s the move. They say the 2 most stressful events in one’s life is organising a wedding and moving house and you’ve already done one of those so you’ll be fine. Trust me it’s normal to be overwhelmed in your situation. 😘 It will all click into place eventually. Xx

Just wanted to say you’ve got this ❤ I love watching your videos… when I catch a moments rest. It’s so so hard, I can relate so much to how overwhelming it is raising many children, with everything always mounting up it feels almost impossible to catch up with it all..after all we are outnumbered 😅 breastfeeding too I find takes up a lot of energy and time away from other tasks. The washing, my goodness never ends it’s ridiculous. Some days I just want to take a day where there’s not so much going on all at once. If you ever need someone to talk to we’re here ✨ Hero is scrumptious and you looking lovely ☺️ Never knew how strong we had to be till now. So much love 🥰 we make it work. Trying to balance it all we get through the days good and bad. Things happen for a reason. You say you no longer want to move to where you were going to move to, so although it was disappointing the sale fell through maybe for now it’s a good thing. You’ve a lot of plates spinning in the air at the moment. Get Christmas out of the way first, then focus on selling up. It will get easier when baby is less demanding. As he’s six months, he no doubt ready for weaning. So a bit of baby food will satisfy his hunger and he might sleep better. Every baby is different as you’ll be more wary than most mums. Are there other mums or dads that can help with the older kids? Like taking them to school. Ask for help, there’s nothing wrong with that. You’re living on top of each other at the moment. It’s enough to stress any parents out. I actually admire you, I only had two babies. And that could be overwhelming sometimes. I had breast cancer when I was 34. I was stubborn and didn’t ask for help, my husband was amazing. In hindsight I wish I’d asked for help with some things. Admitting you’re overwhelmed is part of the process of getting some help. Just so you can have a bit of time for yourself. A tired out mum will find things difficult. So make sure you look after yourself as well as you look after everyone else. ❤❤❤❤ You’re doing great, remember that. Ever read the poem Babies Don’t Keep? Look it up. 😉 Xxxx

I am exactly where you are! I get so worked up with everything I have to do but it all works out in the end. My 4 month sleeps for 40 mins on her own but I’m letting her nap on me and leave the house. She’s my last baby and I don’t want to regret anything. The dishwasher can wait 😂
It does always work out you're right. So true, that's what I get torn with..getting something done or just sitting with them. I always end up staying snuggling him but I just love ut so much 💓

Before you know it your children will be all grown up, so many of us wish the time away, can’t wait till they sleep through the night, can’t wait till they sit up, crawl, walk, I get the having a shower and doing your hair, but honestly the kids don’t notice how we look, but I understand it makes us feel better in ourselves, we had a big Victorian house when mine were little, lots of space but I found they all retreated to their own rooms, then when they were older our house turned into the meeting and getting ready for a night out house, oh boy was that interesting, there would be that much steam in the bathroom and smells of aftershaves and deodorants there was little or no oxygen in there, I’ve even walked in my sons room to find his friend stood in his boxers ironing his gear for the night out 🤣
I've got 5 children and we have been wanting to move but our location is just so good for schools etc ..we are considering trying to extend our house instead..we ideally need another bedroom and maybe a conservatory to give us more space but it's so hard to decide what's best to do !
It is so hard isn't it. An extension is definitely ideal we just wouldn't get the value back on our home so it wouldn't be worth it but you definitely should if you like your home and area!
I think the best idea for you, was to have a shower, pop on your jeans and do your hair. The rest will slowly fall into place..which you already know..in just 5 years, you will have your new home, you will have two children in highschool, one ready for highschool and the other 3 school age... ..🤯 🤗😄 Just a side note, the amount of homework children are expected to do at such a young age, is unrealistic, it's too much pressure on the whole family, especially mums. I understand it's preparing children for future study, but it needs to be balanced, to allow the children to transition into their first year of high school..in my opinion.XX

Secondary school is another level laurien, my daughter is in yr 9 she doesnt worry to much about homework as she does some everynight as soon as she gets in from school. my son is currently in year 6. so next year i know im going to be really stressed as he has additional needs. I find schools dont understand. Older children need their own space to do their homework etc. I totally get you its hard actually having to think for everyone else in the household. Also older children need to take on more dependance to do things alone & take responsibilitys. Cant cosmo go to school by himself then that would take some of the load of you.
Yes they do need their space he usually does it when all the little ones are in bed so it means bedtime has to be very strict to routine. He has just started walking to school this week! He actually asked to and enjoyed it yesterday bringing some conkers back to show everyone haha.
I hope your son settles OK and the school do help when he starts next year xx

The fact you no longer want to live in the house you initially put an offer in, shows it really wasn’t the house for you. I do believe things happen for a reason and when the time is right the right house will come along. 🙂
As for feeling overwhelmed? That’s completely normal considering your current circumstances. You’re decorating your home to put on the market, I know I’d feel unsettled in your shoes as you’re sort of in limbo until you find the property you want to buy. You’ve then got to sell this one and get everything finalised…then there’s the move. They say the 2 most stressful events in one’s life is organising a wedding and moving house and you’ve already done one of those so you’ll be fine. Trust me it’s normal to be overwhelmed in your situation. 😘

Aww Laurien, your a wonderful Mum, your bound to feel overwhelmed with the house falling through and gorgeous Hero not sleeping very well is he teething by any chance that could be why he is feeling poorly just a thought. If your little ones have a nap in the day you could try and have a nap too I know you have probably got a million things to do in that time but getting plenty of rest makes you feel so much better. Just wanted to say you’ve got this ❤ I love watching your videos… when I catch a moments rest. It’s so so hard, I can relate so much to how overwhelming it is raising many children, with everything always mounting up it feels almost impossible to catch up with it all..after all we are outnumbered 😅 breastfeeding too I find takes up a lot of energy and time away from other tasks. The washing, my goodness never ends it’s ridiculous. Some days I just want to take a day where there’s not so much going on all at once. If you ever need someone to talk to we’re here ✨ Hero is scrumptious and you looking lovely ☺️ Never knew how strong we had to be till now. So much love 🥰 we make it work. Trying to balance it all we get through the days good and bad. It will get easier when baby is less demanding. As he’s six months, he no doubt ready for weaning. So a bit of baby food will satisfy his hunger and he might sleep better. Every baby is different as you’ll be more wary than most mums.
Are there other mums or dads that can help with the older kids? Like taking them to school. Ask for help, there’s nothing wrong with that.
You’re living on top of each other at the moment. It’s enough to stress any parents out.
I actually admire you, I only had two babies. And that could be overwhelming sometimes.
I had breast cancer when I was 34. I was stubborn and didn’t ask for help, my husband was amazing. In hindsight I wish I’d asked for help with some things.
Admitting you’re overwhelmed is part of the process of getting some help. Just so you can have a bit of time for yourself.
A tired out mum will find things difficult. So make sure you look after yourself as well as you look after everyone else. ❤❤❤❤

They are beautifully dressed, clean, well fed. Sweetheart, you’re doing a great job. But you need to look after yourself too. I bet if you did ask for help you’ll be told you should have asked sooner. A play date for the older kids, an after school club. Just something to take the load off you a little. I think you are expecting a lot from yourself. When your routine had to change it obviously put a strain on you. But I hope that in time it will fet easier. Cosmo will start to manage his life with encouragement. He probably feels a bit overwhelmed at the moment. Your children all seem to be pretty well behaved and confident. I am exactly where you are! I get so worked up with everything I have to do but it all works out in the end. My 4 month sleeps for 40 mins on her own but I’m letting her nap on me and leave the house. She’s my last baby and I don’t want to regret anything. The dishwasher can wait 😂

Before you know it your children will be all grown up, so many of us wish the time away, can’t wait till they sleep through the night, can’t wait till they sit up, crawl, walk, I get the having a shower and doing your hair, but honestly the kids don’t notice how we look, but I understand it makes us feel better in ourselves, we had a big Victorian house when mine were little, lots of space but I found they all retreated to their own rooms, then when they were older our house turned into the meeting and getting ready for a night out house, oh boy was that interesting, there would be that much steam in the bathroom and smells of aftershaves and deodorants there was little or no oxygen in there, I’ve even walked in my sons room to find his friend stood in his boxers ironing his gear for the night out 🤣

I've got 5 children and we have been wanting to move but our location is just so good for schools etc ..we are considering trying to extend our house instead..we ideally need another bedroom and maybe a conservatory to give us more space but it's so hard to decide what's best to do !
It is so hard isn't it. An extension is definitely ideal we just wouldn't get the value back on our home so it wouldn't be worth it but you definitely should if you like your home and area!

I think the best idea for you, was to have a shower, pop on your jeans and do your hair.
The rest will slowly fall into place..which you already know..in just 5 years, you will have your new home, you will have two children in highschool, one ready for highschool and the other 3 school age... ..🤯 🤗😄
Just a side note, the amount of homework children are expected to do at such a young age, is unrealistic, it's too much pressure on the whole family, especially mums.
I understand it's preparing children for future study, but it needs to be balanced, to allow the children to transition into their first year of high school..in my opinion.XX

@@OrdinaryEnglishMum I had wonderful trainee nurses help at nurseries I worked at. They couldn't find home placements. A win win for a mum like you with babies/toddlers/ school aged , an extra pair of hands and it helps them with their nursing course.

@@OrdinaryEnglishMum yep , they do six week blocks of home visits. They are brilliant and not only you get help but they learn too. DBS checked as well 🙏🙏 sometimes they'll wash up , help with baby or hang washing out. Learn newborn or baby routines . Xxx
