There are days when I sit and watch Puddles for hours. This song is one of my favorites. He is phenomenal.

This may just be the most perfectly crafted performance of a song I've ever heard. Painfully slow, yet meticulously timed, with a voice to compete with Freddie Mercury. I would love to have all the Paste performances released as an EP on Bandcamp or something.

I'd easily trade everything I own for his voice. Mine isn't bad, but his is absolutely beautiful. I'd happily be poor and homeless if I had that voice. He has the ability to move people at a moment's notice with that voice.

How can anyone not comment on the man's expressive nature? I read the comments, not that many really, and NO ONE mentions how Puddles, Mike if you will, lays his soul out for all to see on his face while singing this song. It's half the beauty of this video entirely. I mean if you were deaf, you could probably feel the soul of the song and the man singing it.

So much Bowie in his voice at times, at other times he's an amazing opera singer. Not even my kind of music but I love it. So strange that a guy singing is unique, but it is.

This is so great. It sounds so good on a high-fi. I love all the little noises -- almost Talk Talk/Spirit of Eden level of perfection.
I can only imagine people dislike this solely to say they are dissenters. Vocally this stands up to Tom Jones' version of this song, which is saying a lot.

From the time I was a little kid I wanted to be a country music singer, 3 years of banjo lessons, 2 years of clarinet lessons, teaching myself how to play saxophone, 3 years of jazz guitar lessons, and 2 years of singing in a smokey bar on Saturdays, but I got a degree in Economics with a minor in business management because it was "safe". Don't be me, if I could do it all over again, I'd go for broke.
What a gift it must be to be able to deliver an amazing performance each time this song is sung. It has the potential to be different message every time. Its up to the maestro what story and at what depth it will be told this time... wow
We only get one or two of talented people like this per generation. Imagine if he had broken out 30 years ago.

It's a good choice because it fits in with his seeming trend to only do sad, loenely or mournful songs on AGT.
I really wish he had sang it.
The real issue with his AGT auditions was he was only showcasing his amazing voice, not the intoxicating charm that is "Puddles Pity Party".
Which means that his character was lost in translation. People didn't "get" Puddles.
If he wanted to do voice only, he should've entered as himself, Mike Geier.
If he had sang this song, and done the LIVE in-song schtick he does for this song on Mel B or Heidi, or even Howie, I seriously doubt that he would've been blackballed by Simon.

To even cover a Tom Jones song and even more, to have a voice that even Tom would bow to is beyond any of today's attempt at true talent. Puddles you never, ever cease to bring me to my knee's with tears of beauty and amazement like know one else! And certainly no one in a clown suit. That truly does add to the incredible factor like nothing or no one else...doesn't it!?
