It cracks me up. There are extremely good emotional moments in this series and I love the awkward moments, but I think the blank space between each line is what really kills me in a good and bad way XD
I've never understood why there's such long-ass pauses in every bit of dialogue, and I love Kingdom Hearts. Three, in all fairness, did fix that issue a bit.
@@WhiteKnightPictures this was dubbed by early 2000s which most games from the time weren't. Other games from the early 2000s did not push technology (as weird as that sounds to say, kh was pushing technology, dont believe me, try playing kh2 and kh1 on a ps2) as kh did and thus did not suffer from the same problems.
For explanation, it's a mixture of bad translation and just the goofy character arc of Riku. He becomes adept at sensing darkness during CoM, but in translation, they made him LITERALLY smell it from how they word it.
I always laugh my ass off but I'll never understand why people dunk on the icecream scene so much. To me it doesn't feel cringe at all with the context. It's actually quite sad
The one game that Shirou Emiya hates "People die when they are killed" Exactly no one died when they were killed and if they die they somehow come back
It's trully one of those games where you HAD to have played it as a kid to enjoy it. A friend of mine loves it because he played the first two games when he was a kid, I never played as a kid and tried when I was 26 and I just couldn't get into it.
(i am 19) as a kid i always wanted to play them, but couldn't afford them. Back in November, i found a great deal with all of the games for ps4 and downloaded them. Currently i am waiting for my bff to come to our hometown and play with her KH3 (we played together all of the other games) and even tho i started at 18, i got OBSESSED! I find the lore SO interesting, the characters too, and i got merch and everything (and daydream a lot about the kh worlds) so, im not so sure if age is what causing some people to not like kh, more like the mentality.
It's true. I played KH1 and 2 over a decade ago. Returned to the series now in my mid-20s and I'm loving it. Yeah, it's the goofiest shit, but I don't care lol
How did I not realize how melodramatic KH is till watching this? Oh right, I was too hung up on every NPC repeating Sora, Donald, & Goofy every minute.
Always found the delivery bad, somehow that was a charm of it. The plot, their attempt of making things “serious” always failed to me. The one time Kingdom hearts actually hit hard for me is when Sora saved Aqua, that is the single scene that actually made me tear up. And I rarely ever cry to a video game. And by rarely I mean only two times. The first one was King Noctis’s death:- “walk tall my friends” “father, believe in me” “ It’s more than I can take” and finally “what can I say, you guys are the best”
I think kh3 had a hitting moment with Terra, during the end where he breaks free of heartless Xhenort. When he first speaks he sounds like he's struggling and hasn't talked in ages, and that's where Terra's voice actor who usually has bad delivers comes in pretty well because it actually sells me on the moment that this man is struggling to talk as funny as that sounds.
@@rorrim0 you know the Saitama “ok” face meme? That was exactly my reaction for Terra breaking free. It wasn’t close to Aqua freed from that realm she was trapped for who knows how long.
Also, will share my favorit KH moment as far as I've played. That means no spoilers for later games pls lol I was very invested in Roxas' narrative in Twilight Town and just felt terrible about how he was practicallybeing driven crazy as well as being gaslit and ignored by his "friends." It just almost had this psychological horror mystery to it. Helps that I waited to find put about Roxas' backstory. When Sora shed that single tear, I think something inside me broke. I didn't care about his friends, but _Roxas_ did. I started KH in adulthood, and I don't want to know how it would have hit me when I was younger and the only(former) friends I had treated me like Roxas' friends did, and sometimes worse lol
I've never played nor watched anything to do with kingdom hearts and so, know nothing about it but this made me laugh a lot, so I might just have to check the games out now

But when you take them out of context like this, they just get stupidly hilarious.
That's NUTS
You're not only wrong, but possibly insane. Even in context none of these scenes can be taken seriously by a sane person.
Maybe KH1 and 2, but anything after (and arguiably in between) sucks kinda ass in terms of storytelling and character development
@@kristophesiem5336 i strongly disagree.
@@blackjackgabbiani19No, they're kinda right. There's a few scenes in this video that would have me bummed out in context.
This is the exact reason why I need people to play the games
As a KH fan since the game first came out in the US, I can verify that the scenes in this video make about as much sense in context.
I forgot how funny Sora's line delivery "You're stupid!" was. XD
1:11 The way it just cuts after he takes off his coat is sending me for some reason! 😂
0:16 Mickey Laugh irl
Seifer really used the hard R when he said it too
My favourite one is "Mickey! It's Riku! They put bugs in him!"
As someone who has ZERO context for ANY of these scenes, I just laughed my ass off and want to play this series EVEN MORE
I forgot we used to call things "lame" in school. Man that early 2000s terminology really dates it.
The dissonance between the melodramatic lines and reactions and the shallowness of this mess of a story is pure comedy
It also works with how melodramatic some characters are, in contrast with characters reacting to its clear absurdity
Dubing in the early 2000s and load times.
@Tombolt13 the Xehanort Then why do no other games suffer from this, from that era?
@@WhiteKnightPictures this was dubbed by early 2000s which most games from the time weren't. Other games from the early 2000s did not push technology (as weird as that sounds to say, kh was pushing technology, dont believe me, try playing kh2 and kh1 on a ps2) as kh did and thus did not suffer from the same problems.
No it didnt. I'd say 3 is the worst with the flow of dialouge
I like how from the beginning of the video he couldn't take anything seriously and he was just breaking down.
God the writing in this is amazing.
every so often i come back to the original video and it STILL makes me laugh
"Kairi's inside of me!?"
1:15 Riku... WHAT
why did he have to smell his hand at the same time as saying that?!
For explanation, it's a mixture of bad translation and just the goofy character arc of Riku. He becomes adept at sensing darkness during CoM, but in translation, they made him LITERALLY smell it from how they word it.
More like why I can't introduce myself to KH.
“Say fellas, did someone mention the door to darkness?” Micky mouse
"I knew when I met you. You and Kairi smell the same" - Joe Biden
Oh my God.🤣🤣
I always laugh my ass off but I'll never understand why people dunk on the icecream scene so much. To me it doesn't feel cringe at all with the context. It's actually quite sad
The one game that Shirou Emiya hates
"People die when they are killed"
Exactly no one died when they were killed and if they die they somehow come back
Same vibes as "Get into the airplane" [Guile SF III cartoon]
This is comedy gold , its impossible to not smile while watching this LULE
@@dbak9268some people just wont like the absurdity. Its either you love the stupidity or you hate it
It's true. I played KH1 and 2 over a decade ago. Returned to the series now in my mid-20s and I'm loving it. Yeah, it's the goofiest shit, but I don't care lol
Reminder that Mickey is saying "they'll pay for this" in response to Goofy's tragic and untimely death moments earlier.
I’m kinda in the middle. I know it’s silly, but everyone else is being serious so I’m kinda drawn in
How did I not realize how melodramatic KH is till watching this? Oh right, I was too hung up on every NPC repeating Sora, Donald, & Goofy every minute.
Something that all KH fans can agree that is how memeable this series is
Always found the delivery bad, somehow that was a charm of it. The plot, their attempt of making things “serious” always failed to me.
The one time Kingdom hearts actually hit hard for me is when Sora saved Aqua, that is the single scene that actually made me tear up. And I rarely ever cry to a video game. And by rarely I mean only two times.
The first one was King Noctis’s death:-
“walk tall my friends”
“father, believe in me”
“ It’s more than I can take” and finally
“what can I say, you guys are the best”
I think kh3 had a hitting moment with Terra, during the end where he breaks free of heartless Xhenort. When he first speaks he sounds like he's struggling and hasn't talked in ages, and that's where Terra's voice actor who usually has bad delivers comes in pretty well because it actually sells me on the moment that this man is struggling to talk as funny as that sounds.
@@rorrim0 you know the Saitama “ok” face meme? That was exactly my reaction for Terra breaking free. It wasn’t close to Aqua freed from that realm she was trapped for who knows how long.
Same, I could never ask for a redub. You just can't replace Haley as Sora.
Also, will share my favorit KH moment as far as I've played. That means no spoilers for later games pls lol
I was very invested in Roxas' narrative in Twilight Town and just felt terrible about how he was practicallybeing driven crazy as well as being gaslit and ignored by his "friends." It just almost had this psychological horror mystery to it.
Also, King Noctis is very special to me as while I'm not the biggest fan of FFXV, I really loved Kingsglaive.
This is why I love Kingdom Hearts
Mickey Mouse being that epic is something else XD
I came here to watch a kingdom hearts video but the nameless heroes "Hey you!" got me having gothic flashbacks
If anything this would make people want to play it more
This is the game that permanently emotionally damaged me with a smile followed by a single teardrop and yet 90% of it is this-
2 minutes of straight relatability
What's funny is that pretty much everything makes sense in context but the context is very hard to comprehend
When you put the streamer “HAHA” 20x
Mickey: They'll pay for this
lmao
“Guys it’s a good game I SWEAR”
"I'm me" he says
I've never played nor watched anything to do with kingdom hearts and so, know nothing about it but this made me laugh a lot, so I might just have to check the games out now
The ending of KH1 still kinda gets me, even in my late 20s.
Although I am a bit of a manchild though lol
0:44 i loved this. Lmao
Me when someone mentions the Door to Darkness
You know what kingdom hearts is? Earnest. I can't say that about a lot of games, to be honest.
What have done Noumura ... somebody kill me 💀
For me my fav square enix game is drakengard/nier and I definitely can't get my friends into it due to Yoko taro insanity 🤣
Personally I never found an issue introducing (or rather, inflicting) Taro's insanity on my friends
The issues usually came from convincing them to stick through more than one playthrough
Why would anyone think that this video would be better with a laughing head in the corner?
The man lost it 🤣
When original script in japanese but you translate it to english moment :
I love how Roxas is sick of everyone’s overdramatic bullshit
its hilarious because it all makes sense to me
I didn’t know KH is a comedy
I fucking love kingdom hearts 😩 its so cringe but so good
Show them Zettaflare and they’ll realize it’s worth it.
Yup; The no context and the splicing of cutscenes will do this...
The scene with Mickey showing up ominously with the door of Darkness is just funny by default
The new jehova witnesses sure looks edgy
Ven?? that wasnt Roxas LOLOL This game dude LOL
