You had mentioned here you should probably get black glasses for the next blind. That's what I'm planning on doing. The black Glencairns aren't cheap, though. I looked around to see if I could find anything cheaper but no luck. One possible alternative to the standard Glencairn Whisky Glass is the Glencairn Blue Copita Stemmed Nosing Glass. It's designed for blind tastings but in the copita glass style. Price is about the same as the standard Glencairn but would give you a different look from the standard Glens everyone else is using.
I like Full Proof and Bonded. As a matter of fact I put equal parts of each in a 6L charred oak barrel which was put in my garage from May through August and from September to December 1 was in my basement. Came out pretty decent.
So I actually was "following along at home" and then your notes on full proof made me think of something. Have you guys put BM full proof against a Smith Bowman b3 cask strength? Try it. It honestly has the same notes, just slightly elevated. I just tried and was surprised (though I shouldn't have been since it was the same distillary). Great video!
Single barrel is my control pour before tasting other pours. Full proof is my favorite. Small batch is meh. Haven’t purchased Top Floor due to poor reviews. Bonded is not good enough to compete with other Bonded choices.
Really? I really like the bonded, I think it doesn't compete with like a Heaven Hill bonded, but it's $20. It definitely beats out something like Beam Bonded for around the same price. I haven't been able to buy a small batch, full proof or top floor yet but bonded has been solid for me. If it wasn't allocated here I'd always keep a bottle.
For best results in blinds you shouldn't be guessing what they are as you go along. Should have the glasses be letters instead of numbers so you don't have the confusion of "#1 is #4, #2 is #3."
I was using letters, but Kat did her own thing with numbers. I ended up following her lead to not further confuse things. Going forward, it will always be letters and ranks
@@BondingOverBourbon, When I do blinds I also use letters and put a small piece of paper with each letter behind each glass to keep track of which glass is which letter. You could use those "adhesive dots" or "sticky dots" and put them right on the table behind each glass with letters *A, B, C* et cetera.
Single Barrel for me
It's such a banger
I have only tried 2 of them. I need to do a blind also. Thanks again for sharing
Which ones have you tried so far?
@ Full Proof and Bonded
Full proof is always a go to when I put bangers in blinds just for shock factor.
😂😂😂
Also, the white stripes t-shirt is so awesome!
🤘
Awesome video. I need to get more into the Benchmarks.
They're very solid for the pricepoint
@ I hear good things about them. Especially for the price
Full Proof
Top Floor

We actually just picked up about 8 of the black glencairn glasses and did a blind with them on our last live
@@BondingOverBourbon,
I heard the black Glens are thicker than the standard Glens. Did you happen to notice any difference in thickness?

Sounds like a fun experiment. I might have to follow your lead.

Interesting! We'll have to give it a try. Thanks for following along with our flight!
Are you coming down on Saturday for Ayra’s Oak Creek raffle I hope to see you there
Not sure we can make this one. If things change I'll reach out to you.
