I think it’s kind of a disservice to call this a kit car, I think the Shelby replicas coming out of South Africa, Cobras, Daytonas and GT40s are so close to the original cars that they are allowed to have sequential serial numbers from the original 60s cars (approved by Shelby himself) I believe that like 95% of the parts on the GT40s are directly interchangeable with the original cars.

Dean reminds me of old Mr Miyage from the first Karate Kid movie! (Asian American senior citizen with a back yard full of classic cars all needing TLC) All he needs is his own Daniel-son to do the refurbishing…looks like our favorite little lady is filling that role. Wax on wax off 😊
Prices for the Superformance GT40 starts at $153,000 for a rolling chassis, with complete cars (including engine and transaxle) typically ranging in price from $200,000 to $250,000 depending on options. Love it. First thing I'd do (as an amateur) is check the fuses. Then when I know I've got enough voltage running to the starter motor, go from there. You think/know you have voltage, but the starter isn't kicking in. You could also just apply voltage directly to the starter motor to see if the engine runs..... Then look for electrical problems. Good luck with it.

The fuck are you talking about, she literally said she wants to give his car back.. Hunter would have sold that car to the next buyer in a second. The point wasnt about being rich. It was Deans car ffs
Once the GT-40 is reliable and driving well its value will soar in comparison to the Daytona. I know the GT-40 will be better to drive with the mid-read engine 427. It is light in weight and it should handle speed appropriately!!!😀 Hopefully it doesn’t take too much TLC to revive it to stardom 🎉. Great video Amelia!!!
Emelia, that was an awesome trade. Both cars are dream cars, but that GT40 has a lot of potential. Plus, your new friend Dean seems like a great guy. Hope we see more of him. Maybe take him up on his challenge against your Ferrari?
You should do a joint build for Dean on one of his non-runners. That would be content gold, hell he doesn't even need to help just have him in the shop criticizing your work.

The GT40 was built here in my little home town of Port Elizabeth South Africa. Company is called Hi-tech Automotive. They also do Cobra's and a few others. Everything is hand built. Good quality workmanship.
I'm not completely sure what just happened here but I like how you have fun. "Oh yes, I just keep the GT40 under a tarp in my front yard". 'Of course, that's how i keep mine to, doesn't everyone?' I hope You receive a Award from RUclips. For the Content that you have provided for us Today.. It is No wonder you have been blessed In your endeavors. So keep it up and we'll keep watching.
As much as this seems like a good thing, I'm hesitant about values on kit cars. Does the GT40 have a legitimate vin to register, Dean said its never been registered? I'm always behind you Emelia and will strap in for the ride. My fingers are crossed that this deal doesn't have any hidden "oh crap" moments. There is so much different between the condition of the daytona(at purchase) and the gt40 as it sits. Daytona was in so much better condition, to me, than the gt40.
You are AMAZING. The way you handle yourself, but more importantly how you consider and treat others, is everything. That said, start a small production company with this cat as your first creator.
I would inspect the chassis/frame on the GT-40 to make sure the welds are done right, as well as the attachment points for the suspension and drivetrain. You don't want any surprises at 160 mph on a curvy mountain road.
I think that is a great deal BOTH ways. Dean gets his Daytona back that he can drive & Emilia gets a GT40 to play with. I essentially love how neither party was concerned with making a better deal money wise.

Because you are honest and fair with dean i see it as a fun trade and if he has been able to source such great project cars who knows what kind of fun connections and adventures a friend like that can help you with in the future.
It doesn't matter what you do or what decisions you make. We all love you! ❤
❤❤❤❤You've managed to get my dream car...... The GT40 and the 1967 Gt500 are my equivalent dream cars. I have been following your passion for years, but this one has truly amazed me. Thanks for the content and continue to be prosperous...💯
Seems like Dean is good at sourcing cars and parts and haggling without pissing people off. Makes him a handy friend when restoring. Assign him to locate some stuff and see how he does.
I absolutely LOVE Dean! Hope hes in these vids more and he makes his own channel. Hes such a hoot
You are so fair to others, and very honest! Look out for yourself
Sage advice in a world that can be pretty tricky and cold.
Ohhh myyy goodnesss this made my heart so warm!!! 🥲 I def had the same feeling when I saw his smile and joy when driving it.
When I think about it, you did a good thing. You finished what he started and fell in love with the car all over again. Can’t wait till you get started on the yellow car. I know it will be something special. 👏👍
Good luck with it.
wow, only just over 1 minute into the video and I just gained SO MUCH respect for you and this decision. I was hoping that something like this or similar would happen. I'm PROUD of you and this decision and have restored a tiny bit of faith in humanity. good for you!
Dean is awesome. I'm glad you aren't doing him dirty and giving him the chance first. Stand up decision absolutely.
Dean is so natural and funny in front of the camera, he should start his own show
@HartfordEmelia-. People are talking!
Girl !!! I am so surprised
You are ALL heart. No Your heart is twice bigger than your body.
Just a heart beating strong.
Breaking even with Dean, because you felt him, and acknowledged his happiness.
Amazing. Thank you for you
You're so honest and fair, willing to do a trade and feeling bad taking the desk. Cuddos to you!
I just found your channel and because of your personality I'm going to subscribe.
Dean seems like a legit dude… knows his shit I’m sure he will help you out a lot… he seems like a solid dude to work with and have as a friend
Dean is hilarious. And the way you two go at each other and then start giggling afterwards is just perfect. Definitely have this guy on regularly just so you two can do the verbal volley and get me laughing my ass off, lol. 🤣🤣🤣
Emelia, you are awesome. Your positive energy and the positivity you bring to others is contagious, I hope. Sometimes the world sucks. Sometimes life is harder than it needs to be. You bring a ray of sunshine. The way you interact with other humans needs to be taught to all. Keep up the good fight, and if you ever don't feel all perky and uplifting, we will understand,we will listen and support you.
Gday Emelia,
In my books you are a dead set legend! This guy has the dream but for whatever reason (none of my business) he can’t seem to get there. You come along with a win-win for you both and change his life for the better.
Much love (and respect) from Oz! ❤️
Tried to get my dad to consider getting a 40 back in 66,they were priced at5x the mustang fast back. He pondered it for5 seconds a long time for a brilliant engine mechanic. He built the 2 biggest John Deers hooked together no front axles were needed as they balance the front perfectly. The predecessor of what you see on the Manitoba prairies today .
Can’t hate dude. You’re living your dream and you just made a dream come true for someone else as well. We need to see both these cars cruising together when the GT is sorted out. Honestly it just seems like you guys both got lucky meeting up.
Cant wait to see this build come together, what an amazing person you are, so happy for dean to get his dream car back, and i just know what ever you do with the gt40 will be sick!
I love you Emilia. The fact that you went back to who you bought it from. Tear to my eye.
I am so glad Emelia got the GT40, we need more of these out on the roads! This project is going to be awesome! Gratz Emelia great purchase!
Bravo on finishing the build and taking Dean back the Daytona.
Take him up on racing you on the track!
Can't wait to see how it runs!! Good luck!
I love the way Emelia talks to people. She's sharp, always knows what to say that's right. Can't wait to see the next project done.
This is going to be great content. I can't wait to see where this takes you.
Great to see some Hard up garage cars. He even drives the gumball 3000 in a kit car Lamborghini. You should ask Sam’s opinion. He is restoring a mk II ford gt40.
This is my favorite older car! Beautiful what you did with it. I wish i could work so i could get my own! It 1000% shouldve been bumblebee.
Dean’s a proper character. And what a collection of cars he has hidden under all them sheets.GT40s,Lolas,Datsuns etc. Can’t wait to see the next video when you and Sandy get the spanners on the GT and get it running and driving.
looking foward too this projekt :D this is so awsome too see you start from scratch on this channel years ago and now u have so many cars and ur projekts just gets cooler and cooler :D
And Now a GT40! A frickin GT40! (even if it's a kit) If you trade That back to him... well I just couldn't live with That Emelia! 😢 😊
You might as well just marry Dean at this point. Hunter had a smile on his face too. But I guess Dean is not as rich as Hunter that’s why she felt bad.
The fuck are you talking about, she literally said she wants to give his car back.. Hunter would have sold that car to the next buyer in a second. The point wasnt about being rich. It was Deans car ffs
Well bought, that is the car to own from the 1960's Dean was right on with all claims. GT 40 with its LeMans heritage. Love your channel, and you ❤
Once the GT-40 is reliable and driving well its value will soar in comparison to the Daytona.
He is funny
The usual used car stuff
Like a barn find...
Blaming the car f or sitting s o long.
"Ran when parked" lol a then fiddling with the dead car battery
Can’t hate your decisions, you do you!❤
The GT40 was built here in my little home town of Port Elizabeth South Africa. Company is called Hi-tech Automotive. They also do Cobra's and a few others. Everything is hand built. Good quality workmanship.
I'm not completely sure what just happened here but I like how you have fun. "Oh yes, I just keep the GT40 under a tarp in my front yard". 'Of course, that's how i keep mine to, doesn't everyone?'
So is there a series of videos of the restoration of the GT40?
Thank You Ken Miles, Carol Shelby, Ford.
Dean is an interesting guy! We need a tour of his cars!
Dean is great, love his attitude. Loved the Daytona, sad to see it go, but that gt40 is sick!
You are an awesome honorable woman Emilia!! Rarity now days. Love your videos
Hes such a character, love his energy, would b great to see Emelia and him doing mote content!👌👊🦾🦾🙏🙏🙏🦾
Dean is quite the character. He is overestimating the value of a CAV GT40, but everyone tends to think what they have is worth more than it is.
I'm sooooo glad this is what you chose to do AWESOME decision this is going to be EPIC 🏁💨💨💨
This was too awesome of you! You really made his day trading his baby back to him!
I hope You receive a Award from RUclips. For the Content that you have provided for us Today.. It is No wonder you have been blessed In your endeavors. So keep it up and we'll keep watching.
HOW IS THIS MAN NOT STARTING RUclips TO SUPPORT HIS BUILD!!! HE IS SPENDING ON MORGAGE ON ALL THESE GEM CLASSICS HOLY BEDEZZEL!
Emelia, I love how you pay it forward!! You can truly see how Dean has a passion for these cars !! Amazing!!
I think you made the right decision. We like Dean. This is going to be an epic build. Can’t wait to see this build.
😊
As much as this seems like a good thing, I'm hesitant about values on kit cars. Does the GT40 have a legitimate vin to register, Dean said its never been registered? I'm always behind you Emelia and will strap in for the ride. My fingers are crossed that this deal doesn't have any hidden "oh crap" moments. There is so much different between the condition of the daytona(at purchase) and the gt40 as it sits. Daytona was in so much better condition, to me, than the gt40.
This is now Dean's channel. Also, I respect the hell out of you lady. Always making wise choices.
Thats my MAN,,,,it just needs to be cleande up,,POSITIVE attitude right oFF the bat...LOVE SANDy
1st dibs always goes back to the guy you got the car from. And he was willing to match the existing offer. 👍
I think Dean is shady as hell.
You are AMAZING. The way you handle yourself, but more importantly how you consider and treat others, is everything.
That said, start a small production company with this cat as your first creator.
Emelia is the real deal, one of my favorite channels. What else does dean have hidden in the yard? 😂 Emelia will end up building all Deans cars.
I would inspect the chassis/frame on the GT-40 to make sure the welds are done right, as well as the attachment points for the suspension and drivetrain. You don't want any surprises at 160 mph on a curvy mountain road.
Maaaaan the Daytona story was so sick tho, and it was badass as hell. Deans a good dude, needa keep him around or bring him onboard!!!
I think that is a great deal BOTH ways. Dean gets his Daytona back that he can drive & Emilia gets a GT40 to play with. I essentially love how neither party was concerned with making a better deal money wise.
