Just look at it as a temporary spot to store your money. You can always sell the GT40 to recuperate some funds. Lastly, that Aventador could be your steppingstone to my dream car the Ferrari F40.

They are not that great cars to drive, definitely not drivers cars, and thus you rather quickly get them out of your system. She made the right call by not jumping the gun. As someone who has the means to "just" buy cars, and have done so, I think you made the right call. Sometimes you end up not really appreciating what you just bought if you get everything all at once. There will be other cars down the line. Enjoy your R34 and feel good about the fact that you can paint your Ferrari, build your Mopar on the NASCAR chassis and just have some fun. If you bought that Aventador, there's a real chance that you might start to feel squeezed a bit during those builds, and that will not be fun.

Life just works that way. I owned and was in the middle of restoring a 1966 impala years ago but had to move and lost my shop. Been keeping and hauling the frame, body and all the parts around for years, waiting for the day I would have the cash to build a shop and get it done. Then I finally gave up on having a shop to finish my impala since 1988. Sold it in 2014 and sure enough a year and half later, as life works, found a new house on the market with a dream 30x40 garage. Now I have the shop and my impala is gone. Long story short , if it’s a sweet deal, it’s your dream, take the financial stress now and be happy in the long run.
One thing I’ve always noticed is that if I push for something I couldn’t afford, it made me grind that much harder so that I could. Never settle! Keep pushing and life is too damn short to not get what you want!

Buy it. It should easily make you money. Compare payments and maintenance to appreciation and see where you would be in 1 year, 3 years, 5 years. May be tough up front, but it becomes a gold mine down the road.

You've earned it 1000x over. Remember all the time you spent getting started working on your 240? How proud would that Emelia would be of you today? As a fellow car enthusiast, I can 100% say you won't regret it. I recently pulled the trigger on another set of wheels that much like your Aventador, was a good deal, and will likely only go up in value due to the new offerings from the manufacturer missing what made them special. If I end up making money on it, great. If I don't, then every single mile on the road will be well worth the dollars lost. Same goes for this deal you have on the LP (except alot more dollars I'll admit) I do massively respect your financial responsibility in checking financials first, but if you can swing it and still have money for bills, payroll, and a rainy day, then do it. The car will likely pay for itself when ROI through content and sale (if you ever sell it) is considered. Either way, we all love where you have come from and where you end up going. I have always wanted just a simple hot rod but had to get my now ex through breast cancer at 30, then her father who died of lung cancer at 54. Now I have lost a kidney to cancer, and they watch other spots. My point is that I will never own my dream car, so I live vicariously through people like you. Life just works that way. I owned and was in the middle of restoring a 1966 impala years ago but had to move and lost my shop. Been keeping and hauling the frame, body and all the parts around for years, waiting for the day I would have the cash to build a shop and get it done. Then I finally gave up on having a shop to finish my impala since 1988. Sold it in 2014 and sure enough a year and half later, as life works, found a new house on the market with a dream 30x40 garage. Now I have the shop and my impala is gone. Long story short , if it’s a sweet deal, it’s your dream, take the financial stress now and be happy in the long run.
One thing I’ve always noticed is that if I push for something I couldn’t afford, it made me grind that much harder so that I could. Never settle! Keep pushing and life is too damn short to not get what you want!
I have a 13 no cap. I am in the Chicago area. I am being offered well north of their asking price of 330. It is an investment for sure. If you can make the stretch I’d do it. I’m holding onto mine. I think 4 to 6 years and it’ll top out. I’ll be a mover then. Good luck.

Buy it. It should easily make you money. Compare payments and maintenance to appreciation and see where you would be in 1 year, 3 years, 5 years. May be tough up front, but it becomes a gold mine down the road.

Emelia, you know better than anyone else how much you've been dreaming of owning an Aventador. $280k is a pretty good price for any LP700-4 car. Don't do it for us, do it for yourself.
You've earned it 1000x over. Remember all the time you spent getting started working on your 240? How proud would that Emelia would be of you today? As a fellow car enthusiast, I can 100% say you won't regret it. I recently pulled the trigger on another set of wheels that much like your Aventador, was a good deal, and will likely only go up in value due to the new offerings from the manufacturer missing what made them special. If I end up making money on it, great. If I don't, then every single mile on the road will be well worth the dollars lost. Same goes for this deal you have on the LP (except alot more dollars I'll admit)
I do massively respect your financial responsibility in checking financials first, but if you can swing it and still have money for bills, payroll, and a rainy day, then do it.
The car will likely pay for itself when ROI through content and sale (if you ever sell it) is considered. Either way, we all love where you have come from and where you end up going. Aventador or not.
