- I did it! i finally got a kindle i was really trying to persuade myself but turns out to be my favorite thing i own!!

I recently bought a kindle as well bc I want to get back into the habit of reading more and I’ve been binge reading the fine print. It’s so good!! The thing with a kindle it is so convenient to continue reading bc you tap to the next page and it is so easy to pass time while a physical is more complicated and work to switch the page and physically save your spot where you last read, idk at least that’s how I feel about it. Love my kindle
i love mine too it's so simple like u said and i love seeing how much percentage i have left without feeling discouraged by all the pages i gotta read!
I rent all the books I want on Libby to read on my kindle and then buy the physical copies so I’m not buying the books twice 😭😭

I'm old school and love an actual book, but the Kindle will absolutely be my go-to just for convenience with space, etc.
that's exactly what i use mine for! usually it's the book bc i love it but every now and then a little change is nice so love it at night!
I also impulsively bought the Kindle paperwhite a few days ago. Not regretting it so far. I'm able to read without getting distracted checking social media, etc like I did while reading in my phone. Though I wish it did allow for continuous scrolling like on the phone app.
same here! but other than that i rly enjoy the kindle a lot more and i'm more focus on it idk why but it's something that allows me to focus easier

I had the same feeling about e-Readers forever! My mind started to change when I started borrowing ebooks from my library. Now that I have finally caved...I have two different eReaders. I have a Kobo, and a Kindle. I'm not sure how I ever read ebooks without them. And the decorating! It's so great! Mine is covered in stickers now lol.
Totally hear you. The struggle is real when you are torn between two good books! I love book content, I'd definitely watch it.

I've found that brightness 18, warmth 8, and all default settings besides font size 4 and the left-justify are perfect for me. The brightness and warmth can change from time to time, but only marginally.
EDIT: Also! As for buying books after reading them on a Kindle, donate them to a library. It's just an idea, but one I'm gonna start doing. Get some nice, comfy paperbacks for an entire set or single book I really enjoyed and share it with others. That, and supporting libraries is CRUCIAL to society as we know it, I would argue.
i love using my library, and i've donated before i do if i don't wanna keep books and its s lot of fun! my setting usually adjust but im glad u figured your normal!

Do you use a protection shield? I heard that the new kindle models are quite sensitive for scratches (more thant earlier generations).
i do not and so far haven't had an issue with scratches! i would just be careful if u drop, but other than that it's fine!
You need kindle unlimited. It’s literally cheaper than one book kindle or physical version.
i was thinking about it and i don't read enough kindle books to get kindle unlimited if he wasting more a month! i do wanna try the free trial tho so we'll see!! xox

How did you link your Goodreads account even though it’s your Dad’s Amazon account? Similar situation. I use my mom’s Amazon account but have my own Goodreads.
i honestly couldn't figure it out i tried going in through goodreads bc there's a section were u can link ur kindle but i'd have to delete his goodreads and it wouldn't let me so i'll figure it out hopefully soon!
The best way is to have your parent add you to the amazon "household" using your email address. Then reregister the device to your name and then you can add your goodreads account.

they are by a good bit i think majority are like $5-7! and if u have kindle unlimited some can be free

I dont know why Kindle thinks that yellow screens are comforting to your eyes.
it helps with blue light apparently but i don't use it honestly lol

well the warm light is a setting so normally it's a white screen but u can change it to dark mode or warm mode
