Putting a pop socket on your kindle is a game changer and makes it easier to hold when reading! Kindle normally shows the page # if you click the time left (it changes to show page #, time left in chapter and time left in book). You can also see page # when you’re in the book by clicking towards the top and a top and bottom “border” will pop up. The top should show like your settings and the bottom will show what page you’re on.

my work around thing for the page numbers is just a little math (its easy i promise ahaha) basically just look on goodreads how many pages the book is (like the physical copy not the ebook copy) and then times that by the percentage that you are in the book, and it'll give you a rough page number! like say its a 300 page book and you are 20% through, you'd get page 60! i like to track my reading daily by how many pages i read that day so this is helpful because i pretty much only read 🏴☠books lolz

I graduated uni in May last year and you can (hopefully) expect your current student plan subscriptions to stick around for 6 months to a year before they cut u off for being a graduate! I think it took about 8 months before I stopped being able to sign up for student plans or get student discounts! Kinda varies from place to place (I'm US Based) I think my amazon prime account still believes im a student and charges me the student rate a year later

The only reason I got both is that Kindle doesn't let me borrow library books in Canada, but Kobo does lol. But also, I read a lot of ARC ebooks, and it's easier to put those on my Kindle. Love how you decorated it! I put stickers all over both my readers as well as a pop socket on each. I didn't get a clear case though, and might end up regretting that...But I did make some book sleeves which I'm using for a little added protection in my bag.
use calibre on your computer and transfer the doc to azw3 format, you do have to connect your kindle to your computer for this but you get page numbers. I use it for bonus scenes and extra scenes from author websites

You can look at your settings and it will tell you the model you have. Select all settings < devices options < device info Then at the top it shouldn’t say kindle (what type and generation). Hope that helps and you can customize it 👏🏻

Fun fact- someone did the rough maths and 8gb kindle- giving roughly 4gb (its more like 6) would hold roughly 8000 ebook. I looked into it trying to work out which size I needed lol 😂 sooooo… you should be ok with the 16gb (roughly 12 after kindle’s system stuff) Edit- also not me just started re watching VD as I’m looking up kindle videos 😅😅
The page numbers can show on kindle you have to change it to that. I think while you are reading you have to tap the bottom left corner and keep tapping until it shows page number.
For your kindle, I use to have the case you had until I realized I had scratches on my screen due to constantly carrying my kindle with me in various places. I would highly recommend getting a screen protector if you are going to stick with that case.
That's a good point. I love the cute clear cases with the pictures inside, but there's never a cover. I would much rather have a black case with a cover if it means I keep my screen pristine. Plus I just stick stickers on the top!

I'm thinking about buying my first e-reader, but I don't plan on $$$ books so much as 🏴☠️ them. I usually purchase my books and then read them as e-books when it's night or when I don't feel like holding the book, so I don't see a need to double spend on the same book. I had thought about a kobo, but then decided to settle on a kindle paperwhite because I was interested in the kobo libra which seems to no longer be available in BW, only in the colour variant. But now watching you say that a kindle doesn't display page numbers on a 🏴☠️ is making me hesitate. Even my phone shows page numbers on 🏴☠️ books and I like tracking my reading on storygraph. I suppose I can always grab my physical copy and search for the page I left off of on the kindle, but that seems like too much work just to track on an app when a kobo will still track my pages. Ugh.
I’m sure you the brightness and warmth should at the top of you kindle where the arrow is if you swipe it down and your Bluetooth should be there if not should be in you settings atless

hii, I edit the epubs on Calibre, you can change the cover and spacing and even convert to other formats if you'd want to. All my covers show on kindle after I transfer them :)
libgen is the best imo. my favorite used to be zlib, but that got taken down :/ i hear that they're still on telegraph though so maybe you can try that?
Honestly I *do* condone pirating books. Pretty avidly, too. In my opinion, if you can't afford books, you should be allowed to pirate them. I'm in the middle of saving up for college stuff, and can't afford to pay for e-books or hardcovers that I want to read. I feel like it's fair in my situation. If I really like a book and I can afford it then I'll buy it after I've read it, but that's few and far between. My main plan is to keep a list of the pirated books I've read, so that when I'm financially stable I can buy them all in the future. Y'know. When I can afford them.
Kindle is way way better than kobo in terms of usability and actually getting the book on the device. The only issue is the on off button being on the bottom so when you're reading it on a hard surface or in the bath on a bath rack, it switches off.

I'm thinking about buying my first e-reader, but I don't plan on $$$ books so much as 🏴☠️ them. I usually purchase my books and then read them as e-books when it's night or when I don't feel like holding the book, so I don't see a need to double spend on the same book. I had thought about a kobo, but then decided to settle on a kindle paperwhite because I was interested in the kobo libra which seems to no longer be available in BW, only in the colour variant. But now watching you say that a kindle doesn't display page numbers on a 🏴☠️ is making me hesitate. Even my phone shows page numbers on 🏴☠️ books and I like tracking my reading on storygraph. I suppose I can always grab my physical copy and search for the page I left off of on the kindle, but that seems like too much work just to track on an app when a kobo will still track my pages. Ugh.

hii, I edit the epubs on Calibre, you can change the cover and spacing and even convert to other formats if you'd want to. All my covers show on kindle after I transfer them :)

Honestly I *do* condone pirating books. Pretty avidly, too. In my opinion, if you can't afford books, you should be allowed to pirate them. I'm in the middle of saving up for college stuff, and can't afford to pay for e-books or hardcovers that I want to read. I feel like it's fair in my situation. If I really like a book and I can afford it then I'll buy it after I've read it, but that's few and far between.
My main plan is to keep a list of the pirated books I've read, so that when I'm financially stable I can buy them all in the future. Y'know. When I can afford them.

Kindle is way way better than kobo in terms of usability and actually getting the book on the device. The only issue is the on off button being on the bottom so when you're reading it on a hard surface or in the bath on a bath rack, it switches off.
RUclips is like an echo chamber. I tried a kindle and it's just no way comparable to the experience of a physical book
Definitely true i like ereaders because I ruin physical books taking them places
