I'm a brit living in the states,I use a FX Streamline in .22,with it been a FX it shoots JSB pellets well with the JSB Exact jumbo diabolo 15.89gr the best in my rifle,so with the Hades been same weight I wasn't suprized they shot as well. For me any accurate pellet makes the best hunting pellet,so any expansion is a bonus. Overall the JSB Hades gets a thumbs up. I've also used predator poly mags which work well but lose accuracy past 35 yards,Hades pellets stay accurate over longer distance in my FX Streamline.
They are awesome. They open up like mechanical broadheads. I was lucky enough to get my first tin from Pavel at Shot Show this year and that weekend I got back home I did squirrel duty. I've taken multiple prairie dogs from 20-60yds. They are a great hunting pellet. On headshots the quarry just stops all movement, not one twitch.
These have turned out to be my almost universal pellet in both .177 and .22 in all my guns. Really pleasantly surprised. Even my exceptionally fussy Theoben Fenman .22 shoot them better than anything I've tried before. No accuracy problems with these across the board. I've also performed a load of ballistic gel tests with them an compared against all manner of things they routinely do the most damage to the gel, especially in the first couple of inches which is ideal for small game.
I'm absolutely impressed! The best piece of lead I ever sent down my barrel! Gamo G-Magnum 1250 .22cal has devastating impact with it even at 70m (76yd)!
Tried them this evening for the first time, I had to see what all the hype was about! Amazingly accurate and consistent through my HW100S .22 I think it's a perfect head size for Hw100 barrels in .22 as they're advertised as 5.5mm The tightly choked HW barrels do prefer a smaller head size so these are just perfect.
Well, I took your advice and tried some Hades, here's what I found. First, a Walther Rotex RM8, I usually use the Air Arms Diablo Field in this gun, however, I found the Hades did a little better on vermin control (as in no follow up shot needed). Accuracy too was on par with the AA's. The other gun, an SMK SYN XS78 Tactical was a totally different animal. This gun hates the Hades with a vengeance, making the target look like it had been hit with pepper shot, where as the AA DF's were a very tight grouping. Both tests over a 35 yard target and both guns sub 12's (RM8 @11.6, the XS78 @ 11.4). Both guns .22.
Hi Andy. Quickly to say thank-you for your videos. Not only entertaining, but every informative. Yourself and Mrs AAR have been a wonderful inspiration to me. I have a 5 year old R10 Regulated. Spot on for 3/8 “ catapult ammo. At 25 meters. Regular viewer to your videos / merchandise. Please keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing your work in 2022.
New to the sport and firing a crown pcp, used Hades to zero my scope in and within 4 shots it was holeshooting through the same hole numerous times. Definetly MY pellet of choice , why choose anything else, you get's what ya pays for and the quality is spot on. 😉👍
I`ve been shooting these through my AA s510, FAC rated at 33ftlb and they shoot great, they are accurate and give me one shot kills, although at 33ftlb I tend to get that no matter what pellet I shoot ! I`m definately going to keep using them.
I love Hades pellets. I've used them now in BSA, AA and now my Hw100. Although I use them for pest control, the heavy impact isn't my priority, I keep using them because they are very accurate. I have heard several reports of them performing poorly in .177 however.
Love them ! Based on a previous video you made, I decided to try the Hades. .22 for my Remington Express XP. They are now my go-to pellet. Used for both plinking and rat pest control. 👍
Wonderful review here in the states a lot of people have been praising this pellet and I hope JSP is reading some of these comments I am waiting for the 357 caliber to be produced I'm hoping they will and thank you keep up the good work
I used these for the first time on Thursday night with my Walther RM8 which I haven’t shot for quite some time and they were excellent. Scoring a good 99 plus 5 dead centre on a C.T.S.A card.
I've been using them on squirrels and rabbits for about ten months or so and they are the only pellet I will use at the moment. The accuracy is astounding at long range and the stopping power is really amazing. Most of the game is DRT even at very long range. I absolutely love these pellets.
got them with my first air rifle, the game swarm gen3, when ill be ordering other types ill always include these ones. they are dead on straight on 40+ meters. love them
I use these in my mk2 fx impact in .177 format and have had great success on the bunnies and rats. Very accurate pellet and they do what they are supposed to.
Until recently I avoided trying the Hades due to bad past experiences with gimmick pellets. I was wrong, the Hades are fantastic at dispatching quarry and more important they are consistently accurate. My only gripe is with long range shots. While still accurate they tend to lose their punch due to speed loss. The Hades have quickly become my new favorite pellet. Wish I had tried them sooner.
Great review Andy! As i am sure you are now aware, they are available in 177 at 10.34 grains now. So just to give the feedback that you asked for i use them in my Gamo Phox and they are really accurate! So much so that they givebetter results than some target pellets! Keep the reviews coming!!
Enjoy the video and don’t forget to checkout www.vector-air.co.uk and www.aar-OnAir.com for all the great AAR merchandise available. Follow us on facebook.com/andyairgunreviews
Yup. Andy's liking of these was kinda expected. The Hades pellet has popped up many times in several social medias - and with a very positive image and impact (lol). Sadly, there is not (yet) anything in it for me - since still have no .22cal airguns. Still awaiting for the Sig Sauer MCX Virtus .22 PCP to come on the market. While awaiting - I do hope these will be produced in .177cal at some point also.
Well thanks for that. After watching this I sent off and order a got a tin of the Hades today. At 40m & 50m they grouped just as well as the Metal-Mags I normally shoot out of my Octane Elite. Soup cans at 40m were interesting. The Metal-Mag pierced a hole in the front and then ripped out the back, the Hades smashed a gapping entry hole and left a much smaller exit... so I think both will kill rabbits but the Hades will knock them down hard too. Cheers and thanks for the recommedation.
Just ordered H and N Barracuda that has similar look. It is a heavier pellet and reported to have harder lead for higher velocity air guns and may not perform for expansion on lower velocity set ups. I will know possibly tomorrow about accuracy and may get to test on pesty groundhogs digging under my garage. Already shot several with a springer and Hatsan Flash QE. Used Crosman HP premiers out of springer at 730 fps. JSB Jumbo Exacts at 930 fps out of Flash.
I only use 3 different types of pellet ,JSB 8.4grain ,H&N FTT and H&N FTTG .. great results from all my pistol/rifles ....But if i was a .22 guy and not a .177 I would certainly try a tin of these Hades pellets....
Hi Andy ... Great channel ... Tried to get some of these Hades .22 before Christmas, and you guessed it, couldn't. These pellets have flown off the shelves faster than, well, sh** off a shovel "Well that's not that fast" I hear you say, but seriously, it seems that demand is out-stripping supply ... ! Well you see if you can locate some … !
Hi Andy, Love your videos and am very much subscribed. I am a late adopter of the Hades (got a bit fed up with all the noise on the internet re airgunning, but have recently re-engaged!). I think you make a great point about Hades or any other ‘funny shaped head pellet’. Some, and Hades in my experience, certainly work out to about 30 yards. Thereafter, its a lottery and a dome head might be best. For my part I value accuracy over anything BC, deformation or weight. In fact, I have a vague feeling that the best pellet for hunting might be the lightest that remains accurate and is of constituents that will deform at any power. I mean that light pellets may hit harder in the sense they more deform more. Maybe that is the Hades? (also maybe a video on that whole subject would be good, particularly for sub 12ftlbs shooting. Accuracy vs weight vs deformation etc. Disbunk the myths. At the end of the day we all want the most humane kill, but in my experience there is a big difference at 30 and 50 yards between a squirrel and for example, a rat. Anyway, I shoot squirrels on a fixed feeder at 28 yards, time after time. The hades in a Daystate Huntsman FAC at or about 18ftlbs is as accurate as its previous most accurate pellet (Weihrauch) and more impactful, it seems. Hades in .177 at 18 ftlbs seems the way to go (provided you only shoot out to 30 yards).
I don't understand why everyone keeps calling them "diablo" when it clearly says "diabolo"? I'm sure most of us know that diablo means devil in Spanish, but diabolo is actually a two headed top that juggles use to use in their act and diabolo actually refers to the shape of the pellet. Phonetically it's pronounced. (Di-buh-low) I know it's useless info and everyone will still call it diablo but thought I'd mention it.
I hear you on this,..but the mispronunciation of a lot of words drives me crazy too,..but that's possibly what the kids were taught in school,..." say it like it sounds " Hardly anybody bothers to understand what's written in front of them these days. " carbeen vs carbine "....Loopold vs LEO pold' etc. etc.
I received some of these as a pellet pack tester for my BSA R10 se and although the range I use is just 25m I was getting a ten shot group that could be covered by a new 5p peice and were on a par with the AA Diabolo Field 5.52 16gr that I normally use, I may get some more.
Nice review! Everyone is raving about these - if they're out in .177, ones a*se shall be purchasing some! In the same in respect of pellets. I've tried so many but I always come back to Diabolos! Brilliant video - thank you for this. It was a great help!! 👍😄
I use them exclusively for all my small game hunting and for the annoying ground hog in the neighbors barns where I live in the u.s.a. but for birds of any kind I use the polymag shorts. All in .22 caliber
Have just found your RUclips channel. Very impressed with your breadth of knowledge AND your rifles! I have only this morning dispatched my first fairly large Oregon, USA rat with one Hades pellet with iron sights at 10 yards. Diana 34 was my weapon of choice and I, too, had excellent accuracy when sighting in. Glad to have found you, will be checking in from here forward!
Thanks for the great review as usual, well I got the 0.177 version and fired them ASG CP Z 09, and Gamo PT 85, yet to try them from my Gamo Roadster, pretty tight group and quite a lot of damage are my first impression. I will further comment when I fire ‘em from my rifle
I've been slinging out of my .22 hatsan gladius and they don't mess about on any quarry I've shot with them, just got some .177 for my Hw110 so hoping for same out come!! All the best Dean
Acquired an AA S410f TDR recently, it loves these the Hades (.22). Interestingly, I also got the .177 version of the Hades to try in my various CO2 pistols and some like them, some don't. The blowback CO2 pistols don't seem to like the .177 pellets at all whereas the Umarex Colt 1911 A1 and the Beretta M92FS love them.
Use with an un-modified Crosman 2250XL in .22 4x32 scope zeroed in at 12.5m (41 feet) Hades dealt with vermin out to 25m. Out performs JSB Exact - jumbo express / jumbo / RS, Air arms diabolo field, CrosmanUltra magnum/premier/destroyer, Bisley magnum / pest control, Rifle premium flat and pro shot precision for accuracy and hitting power. Sub 12 lbs - no they wont open up very much but still open up more than anything else out there
I can never understand why people shoot pellets into clays of different types and assume that they represent anything other than shooting into clay. There is a reason why ballistic research organisations use gel made to extremely tight tolerances and that is that, after literally decades of trying everything under the sun, it has been found that only the correct gels come near to representing soft tissue.
So far in my Dreamline I have only been able to try these and the 18.13 grain. At 30 yards the Hades have a pinch better accuracy, they also load smoother which I believe is why.
Oh an I ordered a pack of 9 different pellets to see which it likes best and I'll let you on what I think of the 'Hades'. I'm going to mark each target with the pellets I used on the target and hope to find a great one that will score well.
I have a Benjamin Trail NP XL MAGNUM 22 cal and the JSB Hades are the most accurate in my particular barrel, hands down. I've tested 25 different pellets.
Lovely pellets in all my Brococks,(ranger thru to pathfinder) very accurate and deadly very pleased just hard to get hold of unless your will to pay silly prices ,👍
Tried these in my 32fpe evanix performed really well but with my sub 12fpe it seemed that there was not enough energy to deform them in any significant way so I say on balance my usual jsb jumbos will still be my preferred round in my non fac rifles.I must say I enjoyed revisiting this post after having had the opportunity to do my own research keep up the good work fond regards
I did a load of ballistic gel tests in both .177 and .22 with these at sub 12 ft-lbs and whilst they did not deform much they did open up slightly and they routinely did the most damage in the first few inches of gel compared to just about anything else and I've tried a lot. Only the H&N Terminator matched the damage done. I am seriously impressed with these and no accuracy problems at all either.
I really liked Ted Holdover's video on this, but your video was amazing too. This makes me want to get a 0.22 air rifle, but with my weapons wanted list being so long, we'll see.
It would be so much more relevant to test expanding pellets on live quarry! If not live then perhaps freshly killed. Squirrel's would be ideal? Every test I've watched has no realistic result's as nothing compares to the real thing! Just saying!! No intention of malice, always enjoy your vid's 😃
Hello Andy. Got the time to get back into air rifle shooting again, after 40 years! Found and subbed your channel. Excellent content throughout. Quick three asks Andy please.... Will these pellets fit correctly for length in .22 HW100 mags? Have you used them through .22 sub 12ft lb HW100? Were you suitably impressed with their performance in HW100 12ft lb, to the extent of endorsing their use in this respective package?. Thank you. Regards, Tim.
Just got back in from a session testing the hades pellets in my rapid Mk1 22 sub 12ftlbs and i also used the exacts in the same weight but after putting 60 throught the gun at different ranges (25-50 yards) i to am happy enough to feed the Rapid them from now on. I also bagged a bunny at 46 yards for the pot and noticed that it was not a through hole and it dropped without a twitch. so good on ya jsb and roll on hades.
Excellent video! I have a Benjamin Sheridan 392P. I just ordered the Jumbo Extract Heavy 18.13 gram for hunting. I was thinking I should have purchased the 15.89g. Which would you recommend for this gun? I will definitely try the Hades pellets.
Andy I had the same experience with the JSB Hades in .25 I am on my 2nd Seneca eagle claw .25 (the first malfunctioned and quit cocking and firing) well before itquit functioning the first shot pretty accurate with JSB exacts 25.39s. When my replacement Eagle claw came Which by the way had a much more beautiful grained stock than the first returned 1 had. ) but the 2nd shot nothing accurate at all after testing maybe 20 different .25 pellets and both cast and swaged slugs Itried the exacts and heavy JSB's no luck with anything an Im sitting here thinking this eagle claw is a dud 2 at least in the accuracy dept. When low an behold some new JSB Hades .25s arrived in the mail. Wow is all I can say. The Hades is certainly this very pellet picky rifles magic pellet. 25 yard they are all either stacked on top of each other in tight groups or many hole in hole! The gun likes nothing but these Hades pellets and I can attest to their extreme accuracy. They are absolutely amazing and a top notch. No body believes H&N Grizzly slugs can be accurate either but I have another rifle a hatsan at44 long QE and it loves those grizzlys and it shoots them amazing even at distances of 100+ meters I have taken many varmints and pests an game! I cant tell yet what gun shoots best at distance as Ive only shot the eagle claw and hades combo at 25 yards an only targets but my at44 long QE and H&N Grizzly combo which is my go to gun for years and can knock a fly off a Squirrels ass at 60 yards may have met its match tho I dont expect the Skirted Diabolo style Hades to shoot as flat or retain the energy at distance the H&N Grizzly does with it's lower balistic coefficient!
They are the only heavier pellet that increased the power in my TX200 as well. Every other heavier than 8 grain pellet has always reduced energy levels but this one increased it despite the extra weight. It had always been the other way around, lighter and faster pellets increase FPE in my springers, heavier ones decrease energy. Interesting! They seem to be an efficient design. No accuracy problems either and in both .177 and .22 so these have become my standard do everything ammo for all my guns. They simply work well in everything. Even my exceptionally fussy .22 Theoben Fenman shoots well with these, getting sub 1 inch groups at 40 yards, something that rifle never managed before. PCP rifle groups are half that size with these which is also excellent.
They work just great in my AA S410, with my normal diabolo's they go straight through a squirrels head like a knife through butter but these are more like a sledgehammer on a brick wall, dead stays dead with these!
Ought to stick that playdoh in the back of the pellet trap covered in denim, the Hades need to be tested out to 50 yards im sure the group will open up but by how much?
Would you be able to shoot the 50 cal 35 and 45 caliber air rifle in UK and tell me what the difference is between them that would be something I'd be interested to see
Wow pretty impressive mate. Hopefully il get to try them in 177 soon. I have a question please!, you’re gun stands is the cheaper and good? As half price of the deben one?? Thanks 🙏
Hi, The Deben is easier and more accurate to adjust, but has the side movement issue ( easily spins from left to right) so I adapted mine, putting an adjuster wheel on it to make it more precise. The cheaper one does not have any side movement at all, a better butt grip, but is pretty poor on the elevation adjustment. In other words, they both have their strengths and weaknesses and I have needed to adapt both.

I am a break barrel guy here in the US. Love the Hades in all of them, especially in my magnums

Hope they come out with .25 an .177 ok and .30 as well . JSB are you listening!!!
I’ve never seen bullets so up close, this is actually very informative for someone who doesn’t know anything about this stuff I’ve learned a lot!
They shoot really well in my 1983 HW80 in .22 and also in my .177 Zbroia Hortitsia and Pax Phoenix. Very impressed with them!

(Di-buh-low)
I know it's useless info and everyone will still call it diablo but thought I'd mention it.
I hear you on this,..but the mispronunciation of a lot of words drives me crazy too,..but that's possibly what the kids were taught in school,..." say it like it sounds "
Hardly anybody bothers to understand what's written in front of them these days. " carbeen vs carbine "....Loopold vs LEO pold' etc. etc.
Hahaha im on the same page with you, i constantly correct my shooting buddy on this !
I use these on rabbits and rats.
They're one of the most accurate pellets I've tried out.
My Gamo varmint swarm springer loves em.
I received some of these as a pellet pack tester for my BSA R10 se and although the range I use is just 25m I was getting a ten shot group that could be covered by a new 5p peice and were on a par with the AA Diabolo Field 5.52 16gr that I normally use, I may get some more.
Hades are awesome, your review is 100% accurate, keep up the great job. Tom Long Island NY USA
Nice review! Everyone is raving about these - if they're out in .177, ones a*se shall be purchasing some!
In the same in respect of pellets. I've tried so many but I always come back to Diabolos!
Brilliant video - thank you for this. It was a great help!! 👍😄
Nuclear tipped lol 😆 I'm shooting these in my Benjamin 342 with 8 pumps and open sights. Very happy with them. Kills beer cans every shot at 30yds !
I've put more than 1500 Hades through my 10J FX Dreamline and is currently my standard pellet.
Glad to have found you, will be checking in from here forward!
welcome on board. Andy
Thanks for the great review as usual, well I got the 0.177 version and fired them ASG CP Z 09, and Gamo PT 85, yet to try them from my Gamo Roadster, pretty tight group and quite a lot of damage are my first impression. I will further comment when I fire ‘em from my rifle
i am using these , happy with it ! greetings from belgium
Them Stratton's are Lazer accurate in my hw100 , gold star se, and my 510r TDR,
I will be ordering the hades to compare.
Thanks for this review.
Hades are brilliant!
Use with an un-modified Crosman 2250XL in .22
4x32 scope zeroed in at 12.5m (41 feet)
Hades dealt with vermin out to 25m.
Andy looks ready to boil over!
I'm a Barracuda Hunter Extreme fan, but I'm very tempted to try the Hades to see if any of my rifles like them.
Paul i tried these and never looked back, use them for rats 🐀.
So far in my Dreamline I have only been able to try these and the 18.13 grain. At 30 yards the Hades have a pinch better accuracy, they also load smoother which I believe is why.
Hi Andy I do like yoy reviews they are very informative and I have three rifles and they suit them all
Well I think it is scientific cos real world tests count in my book and your experience is on the money, atb Dave
I stack pellets and slugs like I stack silver bullion...monthly. Hades pellets are 🔥 My talonp 25 cal love em!!
Oh an I ordered a pack of 9 different pellets to see which it likes best and I'll let you on what I think of the 'Hades'. I'm going to mark each target with the pellets I used on the target and hope to find a great one that will score well.
Your intro music is so bassy bro👌 I watch it in the car n the subs goes nuts
I have a Benjamin Trail NP XL MAGNUM 22 cal and the JSB Hades are the most accurate in my particular barrel, hands down. I've tested 25 different pellets.
Lovely pellets in all my Brococks,(ranger thru to pathfinder) very accurate and deadly very pleased just hard to get hold of unless your will to pay silly prices ,👍
Hi Andy another cracking review. May i ask what pellets you use for your Fac Huntsman Regal please?
Dj Ed G i guess its gonna be the hades from now on, right Andy?
Have them in 177. Very good 😎
I have just ordered some. Will give them a try.
Impressive! I've just ordered a tin of 500 to put through my Umarex 850 M2. Will let you know how I get on.
@RS I'd like to know the outlet/supplier of your Hades ? Can't seem to locate any at all, gratefully PW 😢👍
@@paulward2668 Hi Phil, I got they from the-wolf-man on ebay uk
@@RichardSetford thanks4 your quick reply Richard, much obliged 💪✌
Just a quick update. Fantastic pellets. Suited my gun to a tee. Just ordered another 1k.
I always use hades pellets. Very consistent and accurate. Bit expensive though.
Brilliant pellets. My HW110 loves them my RM8 loves them my BSA R10TH doesn't BISLEY only. shame.. Love your stuff Mr AAR. bIg kiss from us all X
I really liked Ted Holdover's video on this, but your video was amazing too. This makes me want to get a 0.22 air rifle, but with my weapons wanted list being so long, we'll see.
Hades every time for me guys. Not found nothing better tbh.
I have a tin for the at44 and haven't come around to testing them yet. Seems I need to open the tin soon!
Have to wait and see if a .177 version materializes! 😣😣😣😣😣😣😣👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It did :)
Been hoping for a while .177 of these come out soon to try
It would be so much more relevant to test expanding pellets on live quarry! If not live then perhaps freshly killed. Squirrel's would be ideal? Every test I've watched has no realistic result's as nothing compares to the real thing!
Just saying!! No intention of malice, always enjoy your vid's 😃
Started sorting pellets and was surprised to find a wide variation in weight with these pellets.
I also bagged a bunny at 46 yards for the pot and noticed that it was not a through hole and it dropped without a twitch. so good on ya jsb and roll on hades.
the hades is probably one of the scariest hunting round i have seen as it rip through everything without over penetrating
Yes, Cherub face! I prefer the Hornet or Metalmag.
dont forget us .20 folk either
tom thompson Do you find it difficult to find what you need in .20, I certainly do now for .177 !
I love them and they work in several different gun extremely well all FAC
They work fine in my AA TX200 but tend to increase the Foot pound up very close to 12FP or potentially over 12FP
I tried some in my cheap smk victory at 30 yards.. better grouping all round.
Im gonna test them one of theese days with my new diana airking 54 .22.
Andy could you please do a review for 0.177 Apolo predator and H&N Power shot from a Co2 pistol.
Would you be able to shoot the 50 cal 35 and 45 caliber air rifle in UK and tell me what the difference is between them that would be something I'd be interested to see
my reign loves them
GOOD SHOW I AGREE
They are really good I like use them in my .22
Hi Andy, have you tested the JSB Knock Out slugs in .22 yet?
Do you think these PELLETS will do Ok in my Crossman Quest Nite Ops 22 Cal pellet Rifle
Best grouping pellet out of my sub 12 springer (Winchester 55-RS) great for k o king the squirrels out the trees !!
I wonder how they would perform through a p10 shorty
Wow pretty impressive mate. Hopefully il get to try them in 177 soon. I have a question please!, you’re gun stands is the cheaper and good? As half price of the deben one?? Thanks 🙏
Hi,
The Deben is easier and more accurate to adjust, but has the side movement issue ( easily spins from left to right) so I adapted mine, putting an adjuster wheel on it to make it more precise. The cheaper one does not have any side movement at all, a better butt grip, but is pretty poor on the elevation adjustment.
In other words, they both have their strengths and weaknesses and I have needed to adapt both.
