For all of Lukathars greatness as a player.
Listen to him in any interview and dare you to find a more humble and gracious guy that has achieved as much as he has not just in Toto but a major player as a Studio Musician that’s played on tons of records.
I was there and I think journey should have opened for toto. I enjoyed them more.
Ya. Nothing against Journey but I definitely went for Toto! Saw the same tour last year up in Chicago. Drove down from the Chicago area for this. With a late night driving back I ducked out early.
I just love Toto! I was at the Moline concert the next night and I couldn’t agree with you more. I watched Journey for a half hour and went home.
I wish a tour with both bands like headliner..
Journey maybe are less famous in Europe but for me are the Top.
Toto are great musicians, but Journey made classic rock songs since 1974 ...

Steve is the MAN, will always be the MAN, and is absolutely one of the top guitar players, musicians and song writer of the last couple generations! That's just pure facts. If you listen to radio that plays late 70's and 80's music, you will hear Steve on most of all the top hits. Talent beyond Talent!!!!
This is the shake up the band needed after years of different members. Such energy and technically amazing, giving the songs new life.

My hair has turned grey. But seeing Luke with the old grey locks all of a sudden doesn't make me feel so old.

@Lance37a that's exactly why he stopped coloring it. He talked about it on an interview I saw not too long ago

@@gz639 Disagree. The spirit is still there. As Luke concluded recently about that question, in so many words, "Toto in the end is the MUSIC and the SONGS." As long as Luke is there the spirit is still there.
@@gz639 I understand where you are coming from. But.. in this particular case, Lukather and Williams have been 2 of the biggest driving forces since Toto's inception. Lukather has certainly been lead vocalist on as many songs as any other singer in Toto. I would argue that Toto is Lukather's band now, despite having had 3 Porcaro's in it. Obviously, if Jeff were still alive, it would still be Jeff's band. But let's face it, Lukather (and Williams to some extent) have kept ToTo alive. Throughout the awful lawsuits, change in the music scene, Paich's health issues, Kimball's health issues, etc, you have to hand it to Lukather, he is doing his best with what he has to work with and man they are still kicking ass!
I loved the show that I saw in Moline! The only thing I would have changed was taking A Little Help from my Friends out and putting Pamela, Stop Loving You or Till the End. First off A Little Help from my friends, isn’t there song and I wanted to hear a song that Joseph Williams actually sang. Otherwise, absolutely love the concert…my favorite band…love them!
toto is 10x what journey thinks they are.
Right. And also is journey absolutely nothing without Steven Perry. Since he left I left MY JOURNEY😂

Lots of musicians lose their fire as they age-resting on their laurels to the point of having their distinct style disappear.
Not Lukather. The cat still smokes and tears up the fretboard with the fervor of a 20-year old. Humble (and funny) as hell, too.
Great vid! I was there but upper level. Loved that show. Journey was pretty good once the singer got his vocal pitch under control

@@Lance37a ummm. No he does not. However the songs have a definite specific sound due to the popularity and very legendary parts conceived by Jeff Porcaro, each drummer that sat in that immortal drum seat had their own personality yet stayed true to the original. Sput could NEVER sound exactly like Simon, and Simon could NEVER play the way Sput plays.
I've seen recent videos of both Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson where they seem to have lost some of their dexterity and fluidity. Neither is true of Lukather - he still plays like he did 30 years ago.
Who is singing lead on Africa? Sounds like Paich!

He just stopped dying it.. as we age we get to a point where it's not about that stuff anymore.. It's about just living and being happy with yourself as a person and who cares what people think.. It's a great place to be. 🙂

Thanks to the horrible management at Boardwalk Hall Atlantic City i only saw their last 4 songs. I was devastated. I went for Toto not Journey. The little I saw was incredibly. They need to take the Beatles song out of the set. Didn't care for that.
