It’s just great to see the members out there and still enjoying their craft. Once a musician, always a musician! People are moaning about line ups and missing people from the past. Well, that happens. People die, they retire and get too old and sick to get out and perform like they did 30 years ago. But for me, I take what is offered today, and that is good stuff; and I’m happy for them all.
I love em too --- agree -- under-rated. But this show --- you say they "still" sound amazing. Dude -- it's a cover band surrounding the main guy -- SL. So there is no "still" for the same band -- it's not. I love Steve -- but this is not your father's Oldsmobile. As for Joseph -- respect....but he never will be as good as Bobby Kimball. I suspect there are other reasons that Bobby is still not touring with Steve -- certainly not a case of Bobby's lost voice. He still has it. Ok---- back to work.
Luke was the younster in the bad. He's a road warrior with his health holding up. The other guys (Paich, Kimball) are older and just can't tour anymore. Some others can, but do not want to (Porcaro, Phillips).
Thank you so much. You can feel their enthusiasm. Wish I was there. Their vocals are amazing and your sound quality is fantastic. Joseph's voice is so young. Xavier and Warren singing the opening for Orphan - spot on. Luke sounds better than ever. Great video.
Just not the same with out Jeff, Mike, Steve Porcaro, we all went to jr. High school and high school together San Fernando valley’s Grant high class of 1972 Steve graduated 75. Jeff was a good friend to me miss him terribly….. still keep in touch with Steve Porcaro from time to time , he is a busy guy. RIP Mike / Joe Porcaro.
I don’t t know, I think they’re definitely doing the best they can, losing two Porcaro brothers over the years is certainly a tragedy no doubt, but Luke keeps the memory alive as best he can. Cool that you were a good friend of Jeff’s, he was an amazing talent, his memory ( and that of Mike ) live on in the fantastic recordings.
Glad to see the whole band, in some form, still playing. Im mostly interested in Steve's playing. But Simon (Phillips) is not in this anymore, i still don't realize why. I'm mostly after the deep dark Hard Rock that was done in the early 1990's. Nostalgia may bring some of it back! I sure do hope so. But i appreciate this pop side of Toto as Well, for sure. But by facts of event organizing, Simons drumkit is "too big". Sure replacing musicians is the fact of today, but the most important is To record music (whoever may know what music is).
They have played in their hometown of LA a few times over the last few years. As for sessions they do very little of that now, playing live is the way to make money these days.
Solid concert, as always. The Guys still can pull it off, despite only 2 core members. Not too keen about the drum sound here, though. Sounds like a V Drum set, especially the snare drum.
Capturing a concert requires skills that you don't have and equipment that you don't have either. The title of your video is misleading to get views, it's ridiculous. You would have done better to watch the concert with your eyes instead of framing with your smartphone. Such a waste !
