Toto is one of bands I never get tired listening to all these years later. Luke shows again why he's one of the best guitarists and musicians in the biz.
Sorry, but this is not Toto. It's only a "Toto Coverband with the original Guitarist". The other guys are very good musicians, but they all play the stuff of Paich, Porcaro etc. It's a great difference, if a writer, composer plays his own songs, or someone other plays "my songs". That's why it will never be Toto there on stage. Any new songs? No, only the old Toto Songs. Toto is history.
@@totofan962 Hey come on Steve Lukather is keeping Toto’s legacy going I understand your frustration and lack of support for Steve in continuing to do good for Toto music and beyond, But there are genuine reasons why Steve is the only original member left, Mike and Jeff Porcaro have passed, Bobby Kimball fell out with Steve and now Bobby is not well, David Paich can’t commit to long tours due to health issues although he does guest on the odd show, Steve Porcaro has taken sides with one of his brothers wife’s over allegations of non paid royalties, But we still have the amazing Joseph Williams who has known the band since a teenager even though he didn’t join Toto until 1986…Whether we ever get any new Toto music remains to be seen…But TOTO are NOT history they are very much keeping the music alive in its current incarnation.
@@RogerMelodicMusic That's why Luke disbanded Toto back in 2007. At the time he said: It's not Toto anymore, there are only strangers around me on stage. The fact that he brought them together again in 2010 is a different story.
@@totofan962 ok yes true but times change and he missed playing live and obviously the income generated from it, also it cost him a lot of money fighting Mrs Porcaro in court to which he lost the case against her.
@@totofan962 what a miserable git. Hate to break it to you by 2 porcaros are dead. Paich is unable medically to tour although hes still involved in this line up. Kimball has dementia (plus lost his voice about 20 years ago). Steve Porcaro also doesn't tour anymore. Other than resurrecting the dead what other line up you expecting?

Agreed. They sound great here! And even though Luke said it was their first showbin 3 months. I guess a break amoff the road, and maybe some practice, really helped.

Just saw them... they were they highlight in my opinion... I bought my tickets for TOTO, and my merch purchased displays the same sentiment... the group, although primarily session* musicians, REALLY put their all in that performance... GREAT show!!!!
Seen them 5 times since 1995 . Twice in the last 2 years. ...Have all the albums. No Porcoros left now. But so many great musicians. Minefields and Falling in Between will never be equalled - ever. . No more Simon Phillips, but Sput is awesome. I miss Bobby Kimball vocals...NO ONE Will EVER replace him. no one in the current band can even come close.
Best musicians and band of all times. Totally underestimated in the USA. Bummed that they are touring with Journey. I want to see them as a headliner not to warm up Journey. I had tickets for them when they canceled to tour with Journey.
Luke looks so different with his all natural hairdo.
They're doing headliners... 5 additional songs plus keyboard and drum solos.
@@Calbear94 Thanks Calbear94. They aren't in all areas. So I don't have a show near me. I am hoping they will do more. I am so sad with so many greats leaving our Earth. I also love Steely Dan. Both are my mainstays. Did you get to see them as headliners last year?
Ps I did get to go to their sound check..met all of them. Was awesome...this is when Paich was touring with them. The next time I got to meet Xavier...super nice and talented dude too.
Totally agree. Saw this tour in Columbia and Greensboro because of Toto and boy did they deliver! Luke and the band are on fire! Journey was extremely bland afterwards. They weren't able to evoke audience reactions like Toto did when playing Africa, Hold the Line, or Rosanna. Plus how fucking cool is this rendition of Georgy Porgy?! Best band of all time.
I have great seats for the Bakersfield show in April. I can't wait! Thanks for this teaser. Did Toto get a full set? I would have preferred Toto to be the headline, but my wife loves Journey, so it's going to be an amazing show for both of us. I love Journey too, but I love Toto more ;)

I think a co-headliner with Chicago would be a great match, especially since members from each band has appeared on each other’s albums, I’m surprised this hasn’t happened.
They need to find an opening act that will diversify their audience.

The intricacies of his playing get a bit lost in the recording quality but Luke is funky as hell in Georgy Porgy. I really love it when he plays like this. I saw them live last year and they're killing it!
