I love this video. Thank you for showing your mistakes, this allows us to learn not to make them. And it teaches us not to be discouraged by the mistakes we make.
I just found your channel and I want to say, it's so great and informative!! I am considering sewing my own wedding dress, I have sewing experience in the past, but because it's such an important gown, the task is quite stressfull... but watching your videos makes me more confident! with all this information I know I'll be alright! Thank you and please keep your fingers crossed for me! All the best for you and your family!
Thank you for sharing this You just made me feel good about myself cause when I make mistakes I feel like maybe I'm not even called to be a designer It gets me really depressed But now from your video I am confident that failing is always part of winning
I don't think you should scrap it. It may not be exactly how you wanted but it is still beautiful and you can make it into something a bit different than the original plan, and then just make another one that way.
Can you do a video how you do your custom pricing and the factors of it....thanks Amanda!!!! Xo I feel like this would be a great vid for your channel. ✌🏼
Great video, and beautiful dress! I also love seeing little kiddos in there. My two year old daughter loves being next to me when I sew too and it’s so precious. ❤️
great that you show the issues one may encounter . Just seeing that might help many to figure out how to do it differently, to avoid some things they don't like. I don't think i will ever attempt such elaborate dress but I love to watch your beautiful pieces anyway :)
Please tell me that you do workshops! I’m trying to make my wedding dress and I am running into straight deadends. It doesn’t look professional and it’s not really (?) what I dreamt of when I started?
Everything you make is so beautiful. And so many good tips! I was wondering when you pinned your lace, how did you get the pin to not go in to your mannequin fabric- if that makes sense. I have one of those cheaper styrofoam mannequins but I don't think that makes much of a difference, it's just that every time I try to pin things on to other fabrics that are tightly fitting on to the mannequin, somehow most of the pins catch some of the mannequins fabric do my garment is basically stuck to my mannequin. If you have any tips I would appreciate it!
@@MomthatSews OMG... thank you so much!!! I was just looking at this one the other day because my cousin wants me to make her wedding dress and it has that color under the lace of the dress she sent me... It would be my first wedding dress and I am so nervous!!!
@@MomthatSews Thank you!🥰😊❤ Better believe I'm going to be watching many of your videos... this one is kind of close to what she wants just a little different.
If I were to use the flat pattern method .... because my dress form is to small for me.... would I the just cut the overly the same size as the sewn champagne fabric. .... I bought some beaded fabric yesterday and I am exited to make a dress for my mom

Take away the appliqués in front, can’t really see the raw edge in back, maybe a drape of tulle at the back.... hell idk I’m trying to save the dress life here 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I loved this video! I’m a dance costume designer (check me out my videos at my Rhinestone Queen Costumes channel). I am stepping outside my comfort zone and making a wedding dress with non-stretch fabric with a lace overlay. Your video was soooo helpful!!! Thank you!!
Not only is this a beautiful dress, but seeing your babies getting in on the action is so precious. Tiniest and cutest tailor I ever saw!
Thank you! My son is something else
This would not be a fail for most sewists! Especially the casual ones! You are doing a great job!
Thank you for showing seamstresses how to iron as you go. It makes the finished garment look so good. You are going places!

You can also add a bling binding to the edge 💕

You are so extremely talented, Amanda! You may need an industrial machine.
Yes! Currently saving for one.
This is still a great tutorial! I love your transparency!

Great video, what type of fabric is the champagne color fabric? Is it Satin stretch
Yes. Casa collection stretch satin in shifting sand from joanns
Maybe instead of folding the raw edge in once fold it in twice as if you’re gonna hem and then the edge will be concealed.
Hi Amanda. I know I'm super late on this... but where did you get the fabric under the lace? The dress is beautiful!
Joanns crepe back satin in shifting sand
@@MomthatSews OMG... thank you so much!!! I was just looking at this one the other day because my cousin wants me to make her wedding dress and it has that color under the lace of the dress she sent me... It would be my first wedding dress and I am so nervous!!!

@@MomthatSews one more thing if you don't mind... where do you get your bra cups?
You’re so talented! This gown is beautiful!♥️
For the overlay piece and I have darts in the overlay piece as well as the under champagne fabric? Thanks so much
The overlay has no seams but the side seam and the champagne fabric has princess seams
Mom that Sews yes ..... but can’t I do it with seams.... is my question
Oh sorry. Yes you can but you will see the seaming so it’s personal preference. You could also do appliqué seams
If I were to use the flat pattern method .... because my dress form is to small for me.... would I the just cut the overly the same size as the sewn champagne fabric. .... I bought some beaded fabric yesterday and I am exited to make a dress for my mom
Yeap you could cut it out as a pattern piece
Love it! What sewing machine do you have?
I have the brother se 425
It's a wenderful job. Keep going
What type of fabric is the Champagne?
It is the casa collection stretch satin from Joanns
Gorgeous!!!
Can i buy this pattern from you
Please tell me how much is this sewing machine
Around $450
I love your teachings but don't seem to follow, Please how do I get tutorials for your patten drafting. Thanks.
Some of my videos are more of a thought process than tutorial.
@@MomthatSews
