This is amazing work !! Please make a video dedicated to the skirt, it really needs its own moment! I would be amazing to know how to add pockets to the dress as well. Thank you for sharing your knowledge !
Hey idk if you did this already but i noticed you had measurements on the panels , can you make a video on how you grade your patterns up if necessary 🙂❤️ thanksss
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have checked out Fabric Wholesale Direct and i think it is going to be my new source of fabric. This tutorial was SO helpful and thanks for making it.
Hey! So I have a size 6 and a size 16 dress forms if my clients measurements are similar to one of my dress forms I will pad out the dress form to their measurements. But 9 times out of 10 I will draft them a custom dress block and start from there.
Mom that Sews thanks for the clarification. I have had to pad all my dress forms as the measurements are never the same in certain places. I just thought there was some other trick, lol 😂. Pls never stop making videos, I’m learning a lot about draping. I get excited when I get a notification for new videos. All the best in your endeavours 😘
You are extremely talented. Do you have courses/tutorials to purchase for people who are beginners? Because I'm watching you work and still totally lost lol.
Question. For the bodice, if it’s bigger than the mannequin how would I make it bigger to fit the client? Just adjust the sides or do I make the middle front bigger as well?
I know this was made a year ago but if you have any pointers or a video of draping it would be extremely helpful. I’m self taught and only sew small items like scrunchies and baby clothes. I would like to one day make a wedding dress
Yes I would bone the center front, princess seams, the side of the bust area and the side seam as well as add push up cups for extra support. You can add this to your mockup to make sure it works.
Hi Amanda - I love what you're doing, and its a beautiful dress already! I'm working on my own wedding dress right now and have been wondering (I'm doing a similar shape of neckline), what is the purpose of the CF mesh? Does it keep the shape from gaping at all, or is it purely for some extra coverage for modesty? I'm not sure if I need one (I'm a b cup so its not too much cleavage naturally). But I am worried about gaping. Anyway thank you SO MUCH for sharing your process!
Hi, I thought I would jump in as i’m not sure Amanda would see this after so long. The mesh is to help with gaping and to add support. If you don’t think you need it I would do a toile (definitely do one anyway!) and check the fit and how the bodice moves with out the mesh insert, you will find you will probably still need one to stop it pulling to the side
@@rikkibattle5272 Thank you Rikki! This is what I suspected. I have been toiling without one and I wasn't sure if the gaping/pulling were fit adjustments needed or if I was missing something, like this mesh. Confirmed! Thanks.
I want to ask you on how to draping the whole bodies corset with v neck line like that without princess line and without center front line ..answer please
I’m just a quilter. Don’t make clothes but I have so enjoyed watching your videos. It’s teaching me the mechanics of sewing.

élise omg I would love mine to have pockets! I wish I knew how to sew like this!!
Okay I’m in Philadelphia but I’m willing to travel.

Just wanted to say, thank you ! I really enjoyed and liked the thorough teaching of this . . . very helpful !
Great video. Can you possibly describe how to install a button/loop closure OVER an invisible zipper? Thanks!
Wow this is gorgeous. You go, Momma!!

Thank you for shearing how to cut a beautiful dress
Love your videos! Do you use the same dress form(s) for all sizes? How do you adjust for custom fit?

This dress is so gorgeous!
This is such a good diy!
This is amazing work really great...
Side note:
(I'm making a ball gown but I can't get the petticoat in, if you have any tips I really need them)
You may need to add another panel to the back to widen the skirt
Question. For the bodice, if it’s bigger than the mannequin how would I make it bigger to fit the client? Just adjust the sides or do I make the middle front bigger as well?
Lovely 💕💕hope your baby feels better
Thank you!
Hi,it's very beautiful gown 👌👌 well done
Thank you!
How much fabric did you end up using?
I also order from FWD, love them

I would suggest purchasing a pattern and altering it. I will have some great basic silhouette patterns launching soon.
Thank you so much for the advice I will be looking out for it.
Fue un placer disfrutar su video muchas bendiciones y k Dios le de mucha más sabiduría y talento 💗
Hey Kenya here.... if the person had a bigger/fuller bust, would you recommend extra boning???
Yes I would bone the center front, princess seams, the side of the bust area and the side seam as well as add push up cups for extra support. You can add this to your mockup to make sure it works.
Welcome back!
Hey Patrice thank you!
Hi!! How would this skirt actually be attached to corset bodice? 🙏🏼
Blessed Good Evening
What happened to part 3 of your wedding dress? Still like the video

I want to ask you on how to draping the whole bodies corset with v neck line like that without princess line and without center front line ..answer please
How many yard of fabric did you need for this project?
What weight interfacing did you use ?
Maybe flatten the sides and distribute all the extra to the back as a mock bustle
That’s a good idea.
Very lovely😍😍😘
Thank you.

Mom that Sews i’m trying to make a wedding dress out of my old prom dress.. do you think it’s possible for a beginner
Yes but it will be a lot of work, sometimes it’s easier just to just get new fabrics
I see project runway in your future
Good
I would have love this video if you cut on pattern paper
She is talking so fast that I cant hear the website what is it
I think its not clear about the skirt
🌷🌷🌹🌹🌹🌹
hey please i know it's your right to sell your experience
but the skirt please just the skirt :'(
😂😂 I gotcha
I guess I'm disappointed with most of the do-it-yourself videos because all their mannequins are skinny and don't support the curvy community
Just get a curvy mannequin! And do the same process
Where is the part 2?
