As soon as I saw the curve I knew EXACTLY where this was! I used to overlook
Bedford Basin and would see the trains coming and going many times over the years.
And you are right. The VIA train is usually going much faster on that stretch.
It would be cleared all the way into the station. Great sequence! Cheers, Michael

VIA usually doenst run the F40s tail to tail. Great catch

Thanks. Back-to-back F40s used to be a rarity, but they have been standard on the Ocean since the service restarted in 2021, as they can no longer turn the consist around in Halifax (the loop track they previously used was removed by the port). So the F40s have to be set up this was so that they can run them around the train in Halifax for the return trip.

Thanks! Bit of luck involved here. I had noticed on the TSI tracker earlier in the day that they weren't too far behind schedule, and then later on I was heading home from the Larry Uteck area and thought to check to see where they were - turns out they were just coming through Mill Cove, so I had just enough time to get parked and up the hill before they came around the curve.

Beautiful shot. Norman Rockwell would be jealous.
Gotta say though you mentioned it was luck well I'd say it's like fishing 🎣. You got yourself a nice meaty haddock.
If only there were a dome of some sort to compliment the consist in this winter wonderland.

Amazing visual Tim, any chance I'd be able to use this clip in one of my upcoming travel vlogs on Via and credit you appropriately? Thanks man.

@@trav4oilers I am taking it with my wife and kids on July 16 from Montreal to Halifax. I can't wait for this trip. After watching your trips on The Canadian, I started to put these on my bucket list and check them off! Take care and I will keep my eyes out for that video.

Très belle vidéo. D'un point vue sécuritaire ça me choque de savoir que des wagons sont stockés sur une voie ferrée principale. C'est un gros risque d'accident.
