Damo you are an inspiration to so many musicians. I spent 3 years at music college and your channel has taught me 10 times more in a few days! Thank you so much!
the only bad thing about the ^hold^ music is that you may get a customer that is angry at the company and your music instantly becomes part of the company that they are now hating....lots of good ideas, thanks!
Great ideas! You have some new ones I haven’t heard yet! I’m getting excited. My EP comes out next month. I know you’re not a huge fan but I didn’t find you until after I recorded it so I’m just doing what I can with the information I have. 😆 thank you for all that you do!
Hello. I am a very recent subscriber. In fact I started to hear about a week, while working. instead of music I hear damien. I am the vocalist and composer of Times of trouble, a Portuguese band. I take care of all social networks, I make video clips, everything 😅. I found it curious, although this vídeo is from 2018 (i Just saw) the idea for music in the gym had already come to me and is on my to do list.
I have been watching your videos for the past 3 or 4 months. I subscribed and have watched most, if not all of your videos. I love it! Well I started my FB page about 4 months ago and I'm now at 4300 Likes on my page and a lot of that has been thanks to your advice. But as I am doing well at promoting my page, I'm struggling promoting my music on Spotify. What would be the best way to promote my song for more plays? Thank you again for your time and thank you for doing what you do! It's made such a difference in my life man. Peace and love from this small town man from Indiana, USA!!
Another fantastic video Damo! I have a Skype with you on Thursday which I'm really looking forward to. Your name and advice gets mentioned at least once during band meetings/practice and even just sat round one of the lads houses when we're drinking coffee lol. Keep up the great work
As I often say, I have been following your content here on RUclips and find your information quite invaluable on several music-related topics. As a musician & singer/songwriter it has helped me in numerous ways. Thank you ever so much Damian. Keep Up The Good Work!
SUPERLATIVE work as ALWAYS Damo 🙏💓 I'm so consistently impressed by your content! You really inspire my imagination regarding the potentials of marketing and how creative it can get. I feel as though your teachings are assisting me to think from a wider angle. You've inspired me to create a new Facebook group to align with like-minded and local musicians! I'm about to start it right now ^-^ I'm so excited!
I actually googled "Agoraphobic Nosebleed" because you mentioned them. I didn't listen as I'm not into that kind of music, but still that did get my attention.
Thank you for the great information, I know you touched base on DJ's, I am a HardTechno Producer and I also DJ. I am always looking for unique sounds to incorporate into my mixes. Also, I wanted to give you another Idea, I do a Podcast show once a week and I did it for nine months. This gets a bit much at times, so , I actually took some load off by starting once a month to feature guest spots. It gives me time off to do other things, its also a wonderful way that I have met some amazing folks and They get the chance to feature a hour of their stuff. I have one of the hardest likeable genres. . . So, have to work extra hard finding my niche. Thank you Damian for schooling me good. I appreciate this stuff.
Thanks a lot for all the great videos! I’ve been just listing to them as I work every day for the past week or so. I’ve been looking to start pushing some of my own music out but unfortunately I don’t have an actual band so I’m doing all of the writing and recording of all the instruments myself. This obviously doesn’t translate very well to gigs. Is there any way I could get a moment of your time for some advice?
Hello Damien. Thank you for your videos - honestly, super useful content! In this video you're talking about sharing your non-licensed music, but I always thought that it's musician's duty to register with PRS and PPL ASAP. And.. what then, does it mean all these independent coffee shops etc. won't be able to play my music? And in case you don't register with PRS, but send your music to different Sync Companies, will they be considering your music without PRS code? Thank you!
I really enjoy your approach! Really good information. You are the Zlavoj Zizek of the music industry. Meaning you have a Hegelian approach to this, meaning you seek to combine truths and find new solutions, going away from the "old way of doing things". You are philosophically correct my friend!
Just bought the book Damo; some great ideas here. Hoping for some great tips from the book following your closing comment on the Facebook algorithm. Peace.
Thank you so so much. I am currently working on a new book specifically for musicians to be released in the next 2 months along with a free course on releasing music on youtube. Thankyou so much!
Thanks for the motivation,, and a swift kick in the ass, the information and tools are all thats needed some times,, keeping this vid on file for my reference. P.S I believe the more people you help the more successful you become,, Zig Ziggler
I've got a song for you and yeah I love your channel and everything you do for it 😃 You ain't using any background music though. Maybe one day 😆😆 Happy Valentines!
It's all about being a bit cheeky sometimes and instead of thinking "They'll never say yes" just thinking "Who gives a shit if they say no, there's just as much chance of a yes!" and asking. We have NEVER been approached by bands. I just add new bands I like to the list.
Awesome tips, I've got my notepad out now. I'm still confused about this PRS stuff though. How can my song be properly published on Spotify/Shazam without ASCAP/Soundexchange/PRS coming after the gym/shop/netradio for licensing fees? Do I reserve separate Creative Commons (or unlicensed) songs for vloggers? Is there a difference between license/copyright/publish?
@@DamianKeyes On the ball dude. Just happened across your channel, thanks for your insights. Gary Vee has rubbed off on you too. Go where the attention is, and you can't avoid music being pumped out everywhere in 2019. Rock on Damo, I'll be listening!!
Very true but it’s easy to remove the vocals and if you can get on vlog channels you can then either target the audience with along side so they have heard the song or just use the story on your socials.. still a good productive win 😊😊
I've been Subbed since before you had 50k subs. Congrats on your channel. If you want intro, outro music please send me your email here. God bless you bro. Thanks for all your advice
@@DamianKeyes I would love if you did. Thank you for considering it :) I want to get somewhat far with my band. Right now we do covers at teen centers so lol we could use all the assistance we can get.
If you're in a metal band or rock band, contact pro wrestling promoters/shows. They always play heavy music
That's a good tip, thanks, man!
Hey, that's why I bought one of those WWF mix tapes years ago.
Damo you are an inspiration to so many musicians. I spent 3 years at music college and your channel has taught me 10 times more in a few days!

Likewise. Was only at music college for a year. Didn’t learn anything!
Having a right old binge on your vids today dude. Great stuff as usual! Boom
Great tips , dude!! Im going to try busking with my band soon!

Very good Damian, only just started following you, good advice Sir

Nice videos
A few sound like they will take hours to do but have little effect
I think that our band Ghost by Nature will fit your channel just perfect. Will you be up for playing our music?
Nice bass
❤
How do you get your music to be recognized by Shazam?
Miguel Amar distrokid has an option for this but it costs extra
Lmao 14:37 I'ma learn that lick
Did you slap it?
You better believe I did! 😜
Guys, if you're into rock music, take a look at this band: ruclips.net/video/J1Y_7go4nmo/видео.html
Vloggers prefer instrumentals though rather than songs. Who wants to talk over singing?

Petrol Stations... AKA GAS Stations for those of us that don't speak UK. LOL
I don't feel like this will work for a metal band to be honest. More specifically a classic type metal band. So far liking the ideas though.
Now we are talking my language... What about if I made a specific video for metal. It's the genre I know the best :)
@@DamianKeyes I would love if you did. Thank you for considering it :) I want to get somewhat far with my band. Right now we do covers at teen centers so lol we could use all the assistance we can get.
+XpertMarksman 77 I think it's even harder for more specific genres like necrophobic nose bleed black metal
FACEBOOK SUCKS ...
