Hey Mark, I had my VSC on and off lights on for more than 7 years now on my 01 GS300. I could not find any solution on any of the Lexus forums, finally glad to have found your videos and like your detailed research and resolution. I had the lights come on at 140K and now have have 201k. Can't thank you enough. I'm in the BayArea too. I guess i'll keep driving with these lights on :-(
Just doing whatever to help out people man! What have you done specifically to it? That way maybe someone with the same problem can chime in and help you out here!
@@RidewithMark I've just been cheap and haven't fixed it. I'll try your solution whenever I get a chance. for now the car runs perfect only the VSC on off lights are on.
@@GodEnergy888 I haven't fixed it.I'm still driving with these lights on for 85k miles and no issues. I have 215k miles on my 01 gs300 and it still drives great.
@@JohnBalasubramaniam well that's good too hear. Bought the car got some front end work done in it came on.. NO check engine light though. Wondering how too get them off
Hey man, I have a 2000 GS 300 and today on the free way the liner on top of my driver side front tire came off and destroyed the tread of my tire. I didn’t have a flat but the tread just got ripped off the tire, I put on a spare and got the tire placed shortly after but my VFC lights turned on when it happened and even after the tire got replaced the lights stayed on. Do you think it’s due to the tire being out of alignment or is my sensor just out of wack now. I’ve had the sensor replaced before but it was because it was just broken. What’s your opinion on what might be the problem? Also should I keep driving on it or just wait until I can fix the problem?
Hey Diego, so remember that the VSC is an important light. In a scenario like mine where "i knew that the light was there cause of a faulty sensor and it didn't affect my everyday driving" i would just keep driving. I have never been in your scenario so it's for me to say. There's a possibility that the tread of your tire touched the sensor and it got messed up. After putting on the spare, it somehow got touched? I would be sure to fix it. I don't think it's the tire just because i've had multiple instances when my tired got flat or the tread on my tire got messed up and the sensor would be totally fine. What caused the lights to pop up was turning my steering wheel all the way to the left/right. Maybe sensor out of whack now. Then again it's my opinion, it's all about trial and error. What i would do is check to see if the ohms of the sensor match up to 1.6-1.7. Cheapest and less time consuming strategy. Let me know how it goes man.
I was wondering if you can do this for my 2001 lexus gs300 as i am not capable of taking out these abs/vsc lights. If you can please give me a quote.. thank you…
Hi Mark, thank you so much for this video! Just wanted to give you and the group an update as to my situation after doing your paperclip trick! So I have VSC, ABS, and VSC OFF light on, VSC OFF is constant and can’t be toggled on or off, while the other lights come one and off after some time. After doing your trick and still parked the lights went away, I was even able to toggle VSC ON and OFF. As soon as I drove around the block, the VSC OFF light came back on and is locked can not be toggled on or off. Any idea what my issue is now?
Thank you for contributing Juzer!!! As long as if people here help each other out, then that's all that matters. That actually happen to me. Your best bet is to check your wheel speed sensor to see if it's messed up! Which might be the case! Watch the other videos, on how to do it! Be sure to test it before buying a wheel speed sensor!
hi guys, have a problem with Lexus gs 300 2 generation, issue is with abs vsc vsc off light on and something noising.all this happened when i tern engine on and all this light and noise last long about 10 minutes after everything working fine till next morning.is anyone know what this can be?
Do you think its the wheel bearing going bad causing this? My lights been on recently and now my wheel bearing has gone completely, i think the sensor failure isnt the sensor but the wheel bearing which sends in the input signal to sensor , i will be replacing it this weekend and will update you on how that goes
Sensor was covered in a rusted sludge and bearing was at the end of its life , vsc lights went off , jack your car up shake the tire for play, might be worth starting there
Mines was the wheel speed sensor. The thing with fixing cars is that it could be a load of problems that's why i made difference videos to go over what could possibly be wrong!
Hey Mark. I replaced the sensor on the drivers side, reset under the hood, and the ABS light went out. I reset under the dash the vsc/vsc off lights go off but then when I move the steering wheel they return. Any ideas?
Hey Damien, so before i give you "possible" solutions, are you sure it's just the driver side? What if it's the passengers side? Also, so you said, "when you move the steering wheel it returns" Does the light stay there or do you turn off your car and turn it back on to find it gone again?
MRC Garage the lights turned off after driving it and parking it! I knew it was the drivers after I checked continuity like you demonstrated. Now onto next issue which is the airbag light. Any suggestions?
So i did some quick research for you damien. The solutions that i'm seeing suggests that you might have to just reset the airbag code OR maybe the sensors for the airbag is faulty, squib circuit is faulty or cable malfunction. Never encountered that problem before though so i can't tell you what to do, unfortunately.
Maybe when the lexus will be my full on project car. It's my daily so i have to be wise on what parts to buy and fix up haha. Maybe within a year or two. Trying to fix up my honda and sell it for a car that i will not mess with. No problem glad to be of some help my dude!
Yo so I have a 1999 Gs 300 and no power is running thru it. I changed the batter and alternator and it was working fine but I’m pretty sure it short circuit of some sort. Any tips on approaching this situation?
Not too sure! Never experienced that so i don't want to give you advice i don't know.. Always check forums and ask facebook groups! I only show/teach things that i've personally experienced!
Never try to clear the lights as him.. .V danger on the computer board, please use a scaner to communiate with the computer board. Not a wire , further damage is awaiting
Listen to this guy. Like i said this is all DIY with knowledge i have learned through reading and experience. I'll be sure to be better equipped with tools that will do the job right
This VSC Malachi is a headache the car can do without as it doesn't ..it doesn't trigger limp mode....brakes work perfectly. ..rest is common sense....depending on your speed and experience and road conditions. .you will crash..VSC or no VSC. 😆...
I have a 99 GS300 and my VSC/ABS/CHECK ENGINE lights came on but vehicle will not rev nor move. Had to have it towed home. I replaced the TPS sensor with no luck. Any suggestions?
Not too sure man, that never happened to me. Don't want to give you any false information! Maybe it might be the VSC sensor since it sounds like a transmission problem.

You can try to clean the abs sensor , but it is not guarantee. May need a new sensor
