Do you do 2-3 sections like this and connect them or use 1 long ribbon altogether? The one i see at Hobby Lobby is only 5 yards so they arent long enough. Thank you for this!!

I use one long ribbon. You can tape them together before starting or during if that is the only length you can get. I think that would be helpful.

Would this work well with satin or other ribbons that are not gift ribbon?

Double faced satin is softer and more flexible. Single faced satin would work better.

It should be stiff fabric ribbon. If it's not, you could starch it. You would need to lay it flat, spray it with starch, let it dry, and possibly do it again. It might be worth it to try to find stiff ribbon to begin with. Thanks for watching. :)
