Michael, love the channel and your enthusiasms. My Muon Pro streaming system (filter and cable) sits between a network switch (which receives the Roon and NAS inputs) and a digital network bridge. The bridge then feeds into my DAC (through an AES / EBU cable) and then into the amp (through RCA cable). I previously used the ENO streaming system in the same position. I’m delighted with the step-up. I hope my next swap-out will be to replace the current USB cable for either the ENO IV USB or Muon 2 USB. And next year, I hope to replace my current switch with the Network Acoustics Tempus. Component synergy works for me. Happy ears to all your viewers.

I also got the Muon Pro streaming system which is amazing. And also went for the Tempus switch which brought another boost to all connected components.

Not sure if this is of interest, I just put a ubiquiti network in my new house and it has an sfp (optical Ethernet output) and I’m going to run it into my Hifi rose RS130’s optical Ethernet input. I’m also a big fan of optical not carrying electricity, so it offers protection.

I have a Telegartner Optical Bridge in my system now.

I have the NA Enyo streaming system and have been happy with it, I wish I could afford the Moen but what i have will have to do. I am saving for a tube preamp first.

Great review. How would you compare this against the Waversa lan ?

I haven't tried them back to back in the same system.

To your comment around would you have all of those switches between the playout devices and the source of digital, if using the Network Acoustics (NA)?. For some of us yes. From my playout server running Foobar - the network goes via Belden Catsnake cable up to a NetGear GS108Ev3, from there into an optical Switch, across 10 foot of multimode optical fiber into a converter where it then goes over Chord Company Clearway Ethernet into an English Electric 8 port audio switch. From there via the Network Acoustics ENO cable out to the new Network Acoustics Eno2 and over another Network Acoustics cable to my HoloAudio Red streamer. Network Acoustics make fine cables- I have their ENO USB IV between my Holo Red and the Chord MScaler and then the Network Acoustics Dual BNC between the Chord MScaler and Dave DAC and all along the chain they bring air to the audio and greater darkness to the background, better instrument separation and placement and greater dynamics. Both the Muon and the ENO ranges for the network filters and their cables are well worth a look at - not to mention the NA team are super friendly and helpful

      Hello!
I agree. I do as well. I was trying to help make it relatable for people that aren't as obsessive as you and I are. :)

I used to be a LaScala DAC owner and while it's great for Pop and jazz, I found it to be lacking with complex music. For instance, with complex classical or orchestral music (movie soundtrack for instance), the DAC did not seem to fully separate instruments to its optimal level. I'm sure you love the warmth and sound-stage of the La Scala but the separateness and nuance were lacking to me. I went for a more expensive solution Grimmaudio Mu2 but it replaced the Innuos Zenith Mrk II , the La Scala DAC, the cables needed (power cable and USB cable) and the pre-amplifier. I invite you to check it out and test it, would love to hear your take on it.

I agree with you which is why I went on an adventure of trying different NOS tubes in the unit. The right NOS tube makes it far superior (IMO) to the stock tubes. But to be fair and honest, no current production tube is really any good unless you are talking about tubes such as ELROG or such.

I heard a substantial difference between USB cables even when I thought there was no way, so I don't doubt this is working for you, but... wow. I consider myself an audiophile with a Levinson amp and a pair of Nautilus 801's, but I can't play in this league. I'm just going to exit the chat, now and go back to my wifi streamer.

Hi Thom - sounds like you have nice stuff! IT doesn't matter what anyone else has - so long as you like what you have then it's a great system!

Wouldn’t my Silent Angel switch box have a filter in it already.

Different brand and units employ different methods and features. Typically though adding an additional filter such as this will result in an even further improvement in sound quality.

That’s far from enough! What Michael does with a daisy chain mix of a few inexpensive Ethernet switches is verified to be very cost effective in improving sound quality.
In my case you would think that a Taiko Extreme Router and Switch with DC Distributor and a Plixir Statement linear power supply, an over 15K rig, is as good as it gets… but truth is, it sounds even better if in daisy chain with an Innuous Phoenix Net, a Sotom with linear power supply and a passive filter similar to the Muon, in my case a Waversa Reference Plus.
That’s a ton of junk let alone the many Ethernet cables needed just to bring Ethernet to the streamer but it does make for a big improvement in resolution and soundstage.

@@GreekAudioGeekThanks, I would consider it but at close to $3,000 here it is too pricey for what it is. I will look into a more cost effective option to daisy chain with my Silent Angel switch box. The little switch box cost $800 which was silly money for what it is. I certainly hope it has a half decent filter in it.

Greeting from the nation left off your list …Canada 🍁
Sounds like a very non specific application ..in that I mean you don’t need a sophisticated switching system at your home …as it’s almost a plug and play device.

Hello Canada! Yes - very easy to use and it literally plug and play.

If you just get the Grimm MU 1 and DAC Of your choice or buy the Grimm MU 2 . The Grimm MU 2 has its own FPGA DAC . If you already have a DAC & Streamer that device is a MUST. Thank you 😊
