We see a lot of tidy blue engines here. The good old AC4400CWs are still working hard and earning their keep. The angles are very good in this video, we can enjoy the trains on the rollercoaster. I like the huge Madison County water tower too, it's beautiful and well maintained. Great video as always. Thanks for the entertainment. :)
Thank You for sharing this video..the quality was great..enjoyed the angles of the grades..Q580 bouncing down the tracks was crazy but looked cool. Those locomotives have awesome power to be able to climb those grades, especially those long manifest.Have a great weekend and keep the fabulous videos coming!
In the past, they would sometimes 5-6 engines on such trains, which looked even more spectacular, but yes, it's indeed amazing how powerful these modern locomotives are. Cool you enjoyed this video, too!
Foreshortening makes these grades look particularly dramatic in such extreme zoom shots, but many a train has fallen victim to these hills. Stalling or knuckle-breaking have been regular incidents on this line throughout the years. Good you like the video!
2 things make your train watching videos the best on RUclips. Number one is obviously the high quality 4k video, and I also really like how you display the type of locomotives as so many look nearly identical its hard to tell the exact model as they fly by. Nice work as usual MB!
Thanks very much. I greatly appreciate your comment. I also like the 4k quality. It looks amazing, particularly on a large screen. Keep watching! There's cool stuff to come from Florida next.
Thanks for another great video ! Love the long distance shots where you can see how much the locomotives bounce around. Almost looked like they were running on jointed rail. Can.t wait for the Folkston video.
These hills are amazing. I have shot at these and other locations many, many times, but I can't get enough of watching these heavy trains working hard on those grades.
WOW MB, spoiler alert for me, I was watching your amazing new video ( i've always loved the roller coaster) on the big screen TV and reading comments on my laptop and everyone is talking about your upcoming Folkston video, can I just say yeahhhhhhhh, I love that place and I hope you did as well. Great video as always, your video perspective is so different (the up close and far away shots) and thats why i've always enjoyed your videos.
These shots are not easy to take, but I know, they look great. I'm happy how they came out. I spent a few hours in Folkston before and after my visit to Florida. Traffic levels aren't what they used to be, of course, but it's still interesting to watch trains there. Great you enjoy the videos here! Keep watching :)
Wow! Looks like CSX needs to send a MOWS crew down that other track @Hull Siding, and replace or straighten it. Lots of kicks, kinks, and deviations in it.
I'm actually not far from the Abbeville subdivision mainline. I live on the outskirts of Monroe, Georgia. Winder isn't far from me. If I'm not mistaken, those hills are close to Bogart, Georgia correct? The mainline tracks run parallel with U.S. highway 29. Be great to find a spot there to photograph with my Nikon D500 DSLR and Nikkor 200-500mm lens.
Unfortunately, there isn't really much going on at this time. The regular ones are Q580, Q581, Q582, and Q583, but I don't know their current schedule. I haven't railfanned the Abbeville Sub in a while. There are random coal, grain, and, occasionally, military trains as well, but their appearance is unpredictable.
It's cool to see the trains working the grades. The Q582 with the DPU would be an interesting drive - I am curious what they do with the power going up/down a grade. I bet it isn't as simple as just leaving the mid DPU at notch 8 :)
@@mbmars01 DJ's Trains will know the answer. And yes, I do award railfanning points on his channel too (when he post railfanning footage), despite him being a CSX engineer lol 😆 His channel is mostly focused on model railroading. ruclips.net/user/djstrains
18:20... Those engineers must feel some type of way doing all that bouncing...going up a hill...as they approach the end of the hole and reach a crossover. Has to seem intimidating.

You are the best at catching that coaster effect. Very enjoyable. Excellent video.

Excellent shot at 17:55 the way the train drops after the curve then climbs the grade.
Yeah, this looks spectacular. Thanks!

Great video.the train going up the grades are nice to see.thanks for uploading the video.
Cool, thanks! Just keep watching... :)
Love the video! It was cool seeing that switcher on the head end! 👍🏻🎥💯
Great! This switcher was indeed a special catch.
Nice catch on the Switcher, not everyday you see one on a road freight, let alone a non CSX switcher, good stuff man.
Absolutely! I'm glad I could catch this train.
amazing pictures.. funny how the locos and their crew jump.
Thanks! It really looks funny, but I don't think the crew enjoyed it much :)
Crazy piece of track! It makes for some fascinating sights though. Well done video, I really enjoyed it.
I'm happy you enjoyed it!
I love howie siding, the trains look so cool coming up hills
Absolutely. Howie is my favorite spot on this line.
Maybe one day you should
It depends
Please make it free also
If you make a ,ovie

You're very welcome! I like the long shots, too. They look amazing.
You should make a movie full of CSX And other trains. I'd really love a movie
Well, I prefer making videos :)
I know right?
It does indeed seem like a rollercoaster ride.wonderful video as usual.
It must be an interesting experience from inside the cab lol. Great you enjoy the video.
nice video looks like a great spot for train pictures over the hill
These hills are amazing. I have shot at these and other locations many, many times, but I can't get enough of watching these heavy trains working hard on those grades.
Just imagine a 2-8-0 consolidation on Howie siding switching and the trouble with start-ups and wheel slip, that would have been amazing to watch.
I know... I actually better don't want to imagine that lol
wow awesome filming and love the rolling hills, great video!!!
Thanks very much. Yes, shots of trains on these hills are amazing.
Coolest catches! Love the hills!
Good you like 'em!

Although there were large gaps without traffic, these visits to Folkston didn't disappoint.
I saw Q583 last Sunday, it was 10810 ft long with 2 units upfront and 2 DPUs. It's featured in my most recent video.
Nice. He looks different after working Palmer Yard on the Abbeville Sub.
Very good video of the CSX train buddy
Thanks very much. Great you like it!
great shots as always, 5star!!
Awesome, thank you!
That was a good train video. How long did it take you to edit this train video?
Thanks very much! The production of a typical video of 15-20 minutes length takes about 10 hours, which I stretch over 2-3 days. It's a lot of work...
@@mbmars01Your welcome and that is so cool and thank you for the information.

Awesome video! What kind of camera did you use for this?
Thanks! Not sure for this video, but lately I have used a Panasonic WXF1 camcorder.
Ok thanks

The highway follows the line from Lawrenceville to Carlton. There are plenty of spots for shooting those grades.
@@mbmars01 thanks for the reply, I'll definitely look into it when this weather clears up soon.

I almost think that the GE electronics and software controls the DPU with the engineer only monitoring it, but I might be wrong.

What is the train horn on the train @11:50 Bogart it is so run of the mill, or as AC says plain vanilla, love your videos I always have.

It's certainly a special experience. I have never seen it that bad, though. I guess the engine had a suspension problem.
