i had that problem with misfire #3 injector and a hole lot of stuff traction control acting up definit key issue wish you posted a lot sooner thanks for posting it it will help a lot of C6 owner's
Use a plumbers copper fitting brush instead of the sandpaper on the socket, it will clean easier

Thank you! I occasionally have to put the car in Accessory Mode to unlock the transmision shifter. Regardless, it’s always good to keep connections clean and snugly reassembled.

Good video, very informative.
Once you clean it up and put it back together - seal it with a sealant or epoxy. We did that on all the exposed grounds for airline aircraft during overhaul and they never corroded again. OR at least coat with dielectric grease.

Hi Kevin, I am a new c6 05 owner, and the first day after I parked the car in my yard after 2-3 starting and moving forward and backward , I decided to clean it. AFTER THAT THE CAR WON'T START ANYMORE. DASH NOT LIGHT ON AND NO ACCESSORIE MODE ONLY RED LIGHT ON THE BUTTON ,WHEN I PUSH IT LISEN RELAYS CLICK BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. Key fob ALSO NOT RESPONDING CENTRAL LOCKING NOT WORKING ,put in new batteries on the car and key fob but still not responding

Is there a ground on the back of the head on a 2008 c6? Im hoping there’s one to ground the coil packs back there
I have a c6 2005 my active handling light comes on and off I will try this hopefully this will work for me ….

Thanks for the video, troubleshooting my c6 08 vette.
Fans wont turn on, havent checked connections yet but fan is fairly new (2 yrs)
Service charging system light is on, replaced alternator because my battery would drain while driving and overnight, when disconnecting battery while car is running car wouldnt stay on until i replaced alternator,
Only two problems i have atm,
Hopefully once i clean the grounds tomorrow everything will work
Do you think it could solve my issue? or does it sound like a harness or ecm issue
Hard to tell can be anything just have to start eliminating things as you’re doing

@@ismaelsalinas7693 I ended up selling the vette for different reasons but essentially it came down to resetting it on the cars ecu. It didn’t recognize that I put a new alternator in

Sorry I can say for sure on a C5. But I would clean all of them as it sounds like the person hasn’t been.
Could this be the reason why my horn sometimes doesnt work on my 05 vette?? Checked everything else and it all checks out
Could be ground can cause a lot of problems.

Right now i have p2135 on my c6, you think if i clean my ground wire is going to help?
It never hurts to clean the grounds as it is easy.
The Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) / throttle body type trouble codes, may be caused by a loose wiring crimp at the throttle body connector, or a broken throttle body circuit.
@@KevinJonesRUclips I already change for new pigtail of connector on trottlebody.. ant today I clean the ground on car.
But it make again..
It could be the throttle position sensor. Again it’s really hard to diagnose a car over messaging .

I’ve never opened one up I’ve just replaced them.
Would a bad ground keep a fuel pump from pumping? All other works, doors, rear lid, starter cranks but no fuel pumped.
Most likely it be the fuse
Fuel pump relay ground is rear passenger tire well.. My was not connecting good and the car would die and blow fuses. Clean and tight and it works
on a sidenote ... the + terminal of the battery is closer to the fender or closer to the engine? The car in the vid has the -ve terminal close to the engine block... but have seen other vids where the +ve terminal is closer to the engine... which is the factory correct way?
On the 2005 it is + fender side. But it is different for different years and trim level.
I have a c6 that’s having issues. Shut off at a red light. No lights or any electrical was working at all when it died. Popped hood found ground terminal on the battery broken off. Replaced terminal now car has some power locks and unlocks, has radio. When I goto start it, starter sometimes has burning smell even after replacing starter same issue. 1/100 times it try’s to turn over very slowly. Does this sound like ground?
try the fuse box where the fuel pump relay is and look at it under the top half of the fuse pannel. my pin melted on my c6 and i had to fix the problem by moving the pin back for good connection. used to stall at red lights
No not a ground but try what Nick is saying to check.

Slow starts in my experience have been usually related to issues in charging systems or batteries.
@@KevinJonesRUclips I have new starter and alternator. New battery. When I goto start either barely turns over or makes loud thud at the starter

Awesome video! I'd add that it's a good idea to roll both windows completely UP before disconnecting the battery cables. This will save guys from having to index them.
I don't know why people say this, indexing them is probably one of the easiest things in the world, it's as easy as rolling the windows up and down, it takes a matter of seconds. Y'all need to stop scaring people, these cars have enough wiring Gremlins but indexing the windows is not one of them.

@@KevinJonesRUclips thank you for letting me know. I have an 05 also, and I had a loose terminal on the negative battery cable and I thought it was due to the way the cable and terminal was attached to the shim. It was attached in a way that was creating a “ bend “ in the cable.
Your video was great , unfortunately the second stud was so corroded it broke when I tried to remove it any ideas on how to repair? I am thinking I can drill and tap a new screw in the frame should I use a brass or aluminum screw? Thanks for your feed back
I would use a metal or brass screw personnel.

Dude, it literally takes 60sec with a 10mm and a 13mm to get the battery out.

I just did mine what a PITA. 23 trips to the dealer for service Active handling including 2 days after brand new delivery in 2005.

@@johnhoward8668 Sadly no, it is now determined I need to have my ABS EBCM re -soldered an cannot find someone in Vegas to take it out the dealer no longer will fix it they said, GM does not make them anymore. They were made in Mexico they used the wrong solder so a micro crack triggers Service Active Handling and they want me to buy a New ERAY? No Thanks.

@@johnhoward8668 Thank You Sir! Actually she looks brand new & runs great but when on the freeway you always think the right front or left wheels will lockup due to a short. It's like having a Hot GF you cannot trust.
