  • Hey everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by my channel to check out today's video about "How To Grow Long Relaxed Hair For Beginners." In this video, I discuss what you need to know to START and create a healthy relaxed hair care routine. I've done this routine consistently during the beginning of my relaxed hair journey in 2008 and started doing this exact routine again consistenly in 2021 with excellent results in retained length. Having a haircare routine and healthy practices, if relaxed or natural, helps maintain length and health for all hair types.

    Many thanks to you Meg. You saved my hair. There were dry, I didn't know what to do with them. I made a clarifying shampoo because I didn't do it often despite using gel every day. I left my hair mask on for 30 minutes as indicated on the package (I left only 5 minutes before your video). And finally, what changed everything was the use of a conditioner and a LEAVE IN 😍. I dried my hair with my blower brush, I straightened my hair then I slept with a scarf. My hair is super soft and airy. Thank you a thousand times. I hope I will find a routine that works for me so that my hair stays nourished and hydrated. Kisses from France ♥️

    Spot on sis! People ask me all the time what do I do to my hair or what do I put in it… I tell them it’s a good ole perm n I keep up with it n don’t over-process it I keep it moisturized! In between when it’s not really time to perm but isn’t so controllable like sis said if you wear wigs this will be the time but for me I get 2 cornrows or some straight backs until it’s time to be permed! I don’t really wash my hair every week but I may try that! Some people think you’ll wash all the nutrients out but I guess that’s why you put it back with all the products! Great advice this coincides with a heatlhy hair care routine. Most people do not realised balding can be a form or unhelathy haircare routine and once this changes to a healthy one the hair can be regrown even after balding that may have existed for 15 years or on and off.

    I really enjoyed watching this. Everything you said I'm fully aware of and have been trying to keep up with. My struggle was what protective style is best for me. I could easily wear my own hair, plus what do you think about clip ins? That's like my go to now a days.

    These tips also are important for natural hair growth. Healthy hair is healthy hair, whether it's relaxed or natural. The only thing I would say is that with natural hair you have to be very mindful of mechanical damage. Curly, coily hair is more prone to tangles and knots, so a lot of damage can happen if you don't detangle carefully. In contrast, relaxed hair is fragile due to chemical damage. So like you said, limiting heat use is important, and protein treatments can strengthen your hair.

    • @Mai-sx3yf
      @Mai-sx3yf Год назад

      You just contradicted yourself. You said relaxers cause chemical damage so that means it is not health hair.

    • @izahra1997
      @izahra1997 Год назад +5

      @@Mai-sx3yf By "healthy hair" I was referring to hair that retains length and doesn't have split ends. You can have relaxed hair that is healthy by this definition. It's still chemically damaged, but doesn't necessarily have mechanical damage (split ends, breakage, etc.)

    Great tips. There's a youtuber who flatirons her hair once a week and never does protective styling and her hair is down her back.
    I personally have chosen to stick to protective style for a month at a time to retain length.

    Girl, I just cut my hair into a blunt cut. I went from bra length to above shoulder length. I loved your hair cut, and I decided to do the same. I love it! Good tips! I think geared more towards low porosity though just in case people wonder why certain things may not be working well on their hair eg liquid moisturisers, needing heavier sealants and more protein. I learnt these things late! Great all the same
