Save your money just add grapeseed oil to an applicator bottle and add 15 drops of rosemary essential oil & 10 drops peppermint essential oil. Works just the same
All oils and brands aren’t formulated the same and you can also lose your hair if you mix the wrong amounts (we’ve seen it happen😢), so unless you if you’re new to mixing oils, use caution
I am not a cosmetic scientist so my comment is not backed by science, just observation. Having castor oil as the first ingredient is probably meant to do just what you alluded to, for those who desire thicker hair strands. Grapeseed oil is a lighter oil and is better suited for those with hair that is not kinky or coily. Castor oil has a tendency to weigh the hair down which is probably why it is not the first ingredient in the Mielle hair oil.
I would love to make my own too but HOW do I get it to a "grease" or "butter" consistency like Sunny Isle's root butter?! I do not mind refrigeration if need be but a non refrigerated version would be nice if I can make it. Beginner friendly preferred 🤗
I love the Mielle light rosemary oil and have been using it for thebpast year. I cant say I've seen a difference but it really does moisture and hydrates my hair especially in braids.
You gave a very good review. You compared with detail and gave explanation and things to think about before someone decides an oil. I personally like mielle oil because my hair im not a big fan of castor oil or thicker oils. Castor oil weighs down my hair. I also am not really interested in thicker hair but I do want longer hair but this is great they have options like these on the market for everyone
Hey MEGZ 👋🏾 Girl my hair Luvs JBCO and always has; actually my hair loves oil even when I was relaxed. Ok girl so I’m gonna pick oil the rosemary mint JBCO and give it a try. Can’t wait for you to try out the collection and give your feed back.
You are gonna get more rosemary in the sunny isle. You are actually gonna get what you pay for with them. Now soybean oil is like a filler oil. Its the first ingredient in all the cheap oils sold at the beauty supply. Even the $1 oils. But I mis say both are misleading. It's not a rosemary mint oil with 26 ingredients and rosemary not even being a second oil. It should be one carrier oil and rosemary and peppermint. I make my own. I add drops of peppermint and drops of rosemary oil to castor oil. It's more pure and you get way more for the money. These are gimmicks. They may have some good ingredients but it is not as advertised.
I feel the same. Recently came in contact with a more pure rosemary jbco by accident. Those are literally the only two ingredients and i plan to add my peppermint oil drops to them. The thing is though this oil is regularly priced a few dollars more than both of these but i found it on sale.
@@Spokentruths725 that's good you found it on sale but even at the slightly higher price it's for sure worth it but that soybean oil is just a filler oil and it's the main oil. Everything else Is mixed in. But whatever works for you, but your idea will work great.
I have been using the Mielle product for my low porosity hair for 2 months now, and I think it's working on my edges and thinning crown. Smells good, and it's a little cheaper at Amazon vs. Ulta and Sally's Beauty.
Meg, I've been following you since you started RUclips, and will trust your opinion before anyone else. Have you experienced anything out of the norm using the Mielle hair oil? Cause I've used it one time, and now I'm freaking out cause of the controversy. I hope to hear from you and thank you.
Loved this video so I immediately ordered the Sunny Isle rosemary oil from Amazon. When it arrived I applied it to my scalp, massaged it through, felt the tingle and I was impressed. The next day, my scalp was itching so bad and felt extremely tender. The next day I was literally picking scabs off of my scalp. Needless to say, #itsanoformedawg. Lesson learned and money wasted. 😢
Has anyone hair grew long with these products. I been searching for reviews and couldn’t find any. No one does update so it probably doesn’t work at all.
Sunny's first ingredient list is less expensive oils versus Mielle, the rosemary and mint are important. If Sunny is more fragrant there may be a synthetic process. Castor oil is so readily available it can always be added to the Mielle if that's what one wants. From the order of ingredients, Mielle is a superior product.
This isn’t true. The first ingredient of Mielle’s is soybean oil and Sunny’s is castor oil. We used Mielle up until their ingredients changed so my mom stopped using it. There is also retinol palmitate in Mielle’s and that has links to the BIG “C” word.
Save your money just add grapeseed oil to an applicator bottle and add 15 drops of rosemary essential oil & 10 drops peppermint essential oil. Works just the same

Sunny isle is that girl. Never tried the rosemary mint oil but the mielle one never did anything for me and I was using it before it became popular.
When Mielle sold their company, I haven't rocked with them since.

Yesss I definitely want to try to see if there is a difference

Heeeey notification gangggg! Happy Thursday

Megz, what’s the deets on that lime green blouse. It’s pretty.
Thank youuuu! I got it from Zara a few years back.
Thank you
Have you tried green house with it?
Yes, I've tried greenhouse with it and it works great!!!

@@freespiritpearl89 it does! I have older videos from ten years ago using it for scalp massages 🤗
I just buy organic rosemary oil from the health food store……
That's true but we need to know the difference between these blended oils on the market too 😉
@@ulovemegz Thank you for making this video! 😊💗
I hate products with a long list of ingredients, it makes it impossible to know what your hair really likes.
I love sunny Isle it cares for black people and the other one does not
I still need to try!

Meille gave me sores thru out my scalp
It might be from the Retinol Palmitate…we know someone who had the same thing happen

I've NEVER heard of it! I'm definitely here for the video💚🤍🤎💫
Its definitely new to me too but their JBCO extra dark is AMAZING TOO!!!
Sunny Isle is black owned. Mielle is not.
Mielle is black owned.
@SM-eq6uk Mielle sold out to Proctor & Gamble in January 2023. This has been discussed for a minute.
Sunny isle is owned by a black man, not a black woman. If he marries a non-black woman, it makes no difference. Buy from black women.
❤❤❤
I thought sunny isle was owned by some asians... I buy black.
Yes this company was black owned but got bought out by Ebin NY the one that’s being cancelled for hostile (racist) work environment.
