It's only a win if "their guy" turns out to be a great franchise QB. The NFL highway is littered with top 10 1st franchise QB picks that have been a bust and if Mccarthy turns out to be a mediocre QB, absolutely nothing will change with the Vikings in the NFCN for the next 5 years - i.e. 2nd and 3rd place division finalists. No one should themselves: the Lions have quickly built a powerhouse of talent in just 3 drafts. The Lions are the team to beat no matter how good this draft was for the Bears or the Vikings...

I'm Bears fan but u are correct that Viks didn't give up much to get JJ McCarthy cuz alot of ppl had Viks trading up to Chargers to select him there at #5 but got him at #10 n moved up only 1 spot. That's good. But the winner in this draft is easily the Bears. They are loaded on Offense wow. Never seen this good Offense since forever.

Feels like rookie college QBs get hyped way too hard. The NFL is a completely different game. It's all about how you adjust to it. The ones who adjust well are the winners.
As a Lions fan I have to acknowledge the Bears definitely leveled up last night. Thankfully the Lions also took a step up as well.

Seemed like a mostly great draft for most fan bases. A lot of teams got their guys without even having to move up.

Yeah you could tell when the camera was on him with his family that he was over the moon he went to the vikings. Yes you could say he was just happy he was drafted, but no I think that was his dream spot.

Bo Nix going to Denver is not a shocker
I feel like nearly this whole draft played out exactly as the media thought it would at least the top part. All the teams got who everyone thought they should take, who everyone thought were the best fits for needs. Caleb to CHI, Jayden to WAS, Maye to the Pats, Marvin H Jr to AZ, Alt to the Chargers, Odunze to CHI in their 2nd pick, and Bo Nix to Denver who everyone said was perfect for Sean Payton. The big surprise was Penix of course.
Another wasted decade for Denver.😠

Caleb and Odunze win day 1 of the draft but a lot of teams helped themselves out. Arizona getting Marvin and Darius Robinson with another 4 picks in the top 100 is promising for them. Darius is an absolute monster.

D line even, possibly Lions, I like the addition of Reader. Edge rushers Lions but it's close. Outside of Jaylon Johnson and WR 2 and 3, I don't see a spot where the Bears have a clear advantage.

Shocking #1 to the Falcons, who at pick 8 decided not to choose a Tackle to protect the just free agency signed $180 million 4-year QB Kirk Cousins, and instead chose Penix, a QB with 4-season-ending injuries (one to each of his shoulders and two torn ACLs) at university.
He passed all physicals and has the absolute best arm in the draft. Even if it's next year year after he's got a cannon and will actually utilize London and Pitts

Love the Bears picks, but it doesn't change the fact that Matt Eberflus is the head coach. He has been in the NFL as a coach, coordinator and now head coach since 2009. In that time, the teams he has coached for have a combined record of 119-116. So, while the players they got look great on paper, not sure the staff can turn that paper into a jet plane and make them fly.
I agree the Bears di well in the draft last night but let's not jump ahead and say they are on the same level as Detroit or even Green Bay!
