@@Angel_B.1988I work at a bike shop, I have dealt with warranties from most brand including canyon. We always destroy the frames and send pics to the manufacturer/distributer and 1/20 require the frame back but only when they are disputing what the customer states. We always give the old cut frames back to the customer. If you were to go direct to canyon that’s one thing, but through a shop it’s rare to have to send a frame off for any reason. Just actually had a set of spectral 2021 seat stays from Germany under warranty for someone, took 5 days to get the part and all they wanted was a picture of the damage.
Got Canyon torque where i broke rear triangle on both sides. I just contacted canyon, provided them with very specific photos and i didn't even send them one physical thing. Still got old frame welded + a completely new frame that they send me after more or less like 2 months
@@Finn.mtb1234I have never cracked a Canyon, even while giving them hell. Even if you do happen to crack one, they usually have a good warranty. Great bikes.
You'd still have to strip the frame add material, align the suspension attachment with an accurate jig and then heat treat the whole thing and repaint it.

@@d.m4r1n0v Canyon gives 6 years of warranty. I don't think this frame is so old tbh. Also he fs got it changed by canyon. Otherwise he wouldn't cut it for the proof.
@@MTBwithme666pues donde vivo yo la garantia de canyon no funciona asi , te piden que les mandes la bici y ellos te montan otro cuadro y te lo envian de vuelta.
I had a canyon spectral exactly the same as that one and it too cracked there as well, started at the top of the weld and progressively got worse following the weld down and around.
for those who can't understand, he's cutting the frame because to claim warranty you need to make it so that you can't repair it after and sell it.

@@aviationguy9873 ha ha funny thing is that it’s not coz the weld is pulling away from the frame
JB weld it back on
Then you find out it’s just a paint crack 😂
Same exact issue for me. Had it nearly four years. New frame on the way 🎉
Do canyon frames crack often im thinking of getting one

Cut it in a place you could still get it welded and resell 😂 nice

My Son's name is Canyon. He is 50yrs old.
man this is scary i got the exact same model bike in the exact same colour
Head angle of 42 degrees
Bikes look sooo so dope without shock
Def a design flaw. Had this bike in my cart as a potential buy at the end of the season. Not anymore
Frames sometimes break. It happens to every brand. But with Canyon you got a least a good warranty
Plus this is an old spectral, probably out of warranty

Which spectral is this?
Guess I will buy the Rocky Mountain instead.
I bought a Rocky Mountain Instinct yesterday. It's been a fun bike in the very limited time I've had it
Why did you cut it?, I know this video exists for a while now and I’ve always wondered why you cut it?❤
It was cracked so in order to get the new warranty frame it has to be cut to be deemed unridable
I see🤔🤔🤔
This is on canyon they have warranty on manufacture issues, this was on a weld could have got a new frame
I did
Talked with a Guy the other day .... BROKE His Frame IN 5 places One impact crazy i seen the pics was a CF Frame . Guys 250 /6.3 and a Shredder .
I've already got my 5th spectral frame

Damn
how did you crack it@@MTBwithme666
@@INSTASTABZ it’s just a stress crack, so constant harsh terrain like a bike park and downhill tracks with rocks do it pretty easily
oh no... so i shouldnt get the spectral u think? cuz i want something sturdy, i have a stoic 4 now @@MTBwithme666

Bro such a good duel suspension bike and you broke it you probably got that for 7000$ dollars and could of got it fixed for 350$
It cost $4,200 AUS and I cracked the frame so I had to cut it to get a warranty frame (I have a new frame coming)

Is the replacement frame the same or did they change the design to prevent the same type of defect?
It’s the exact same frame, no changes and nothing to make it stronger, which is honestly ridiculous
