Where did you get the styrofoam blocks? The wind took your words away... But it's a great idea. Do the blocks hold up after a freezing winter? Or do you have to pick the dock up out of the water before it gets cold?
loved the video! I have been looking for a web site that could actually help me with my pond that is almost a acre and I need to get a deck, pier, floating dock , thanks so much for all the tips.
Thought about that but the floats were taken out once the 4x4 were in place. Most the folks I talked to about the 55 gallon drums were not to excited about them on smaller floating docks as they held the dock too far out of the water. We did use cut Styrofoam for are actual floating deck which keeps it out of the water and easier to climb back onto. Thanks for the suggestion.
Great video. Getting ready to build a deck myself. Good ideas
Can anybody help me do you need to cement your post in the water on a floating deck
Thanks for the tip. Updated camera since that video so hope it helps.
Well, how's it holding up?

@ETERNL8o1
Thank you, and yes it's a perfect way to get out on the water and not actually be in a boat. Very nice to head out and relax on...
Neighborhood kids must love you. Fantastic job. Maybe a couple of solar lights to go on automatically at night, give it a real nice look.

How is the deck holding up?
What type of wood did you use?
Apparently it isn’t holding up very well
Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot next time.

why not go to farm or building supply and buy the heavy duty 55 gal barrels--those work great under floating decks?-thanks.
