I used to work with an older lady who was permanently drunk. She came in at the same time as the rest of us but took hours to get her stuff out of her bag, tidy her desk, go to the loo, make tea, pop out to get a sandwich and then have a fifteen minute loo break. At every move she took wee nips from her hip flask, then made a faff of refilling it from a bottle she kept in her coat that was hanging on a peg in the middle of the room. I think she assumed we hadn't twigged what she was up to. Thing was, everyone loved her to bits as she was such a sweetheart and no-one ever moaned about her. That was nearly 45 years ago.
This reminds me of an old boss of mine, Who would keep a set of fresh business shirts and ties in his filing cabinet so he could come straight in and get changed for the working day after a night on the turps! 🤣 Not a scrap of paperwork in there...

many moons ago I was working for a UK telecom company,engineer outside,but I broke my ankle playing footy on Sunday so the nice company (yes they really was great) gave me a few weeks Opps going on the phone letting the engineers know where to go if they'd finished their jobs, in this office, there was a "middle-aged lady" who was always drinking from two different lemonade bottles that she had in the fridge with her name on , yeah so what, lemonade ..until this one summer day we all decided to have a lunchtime BBQ,we had a seating area outside and we had a nice lunch break nice BBQ we all brought salad and stuff, this lady offered a few of us a glass of her ice cold lemonade I was the only one to take up the offer ...THIS was not lemonade! this was at a gues 90 % vodka..I did not put her in trouble,I leaned over to her and said " I think you brought the wrong bottle out"
I had the deleted scenes episode on video. I remember one scene with Jont Thompson as a medieval jester being decent too. Taped it off BBC2 way back when. Don't suppose anyone knows if it exists on DVD as an extra etc? Thanks for the post.
