My most favourite Barnseys song ever....it always takes me back 2 my younger days every time & yes Cold Chisel is the Australian greatest pub band ever
Australian Made concerts were the best. Jimmy, INXS, The Divinyls, Models, Mental as Anything, The Saints. This brings back the memories of great times
I miss the 70s and 80s Australia, I miss the hotted up Holden and Ford's cars playing all Aussie music in them, all these guys are old now including myself and it blows my mind.
Living over here in NZ, Jimmy was a pretty major part of my teenage years. My go to guy, just like you. This song was my absolute favourite back in the day. Thanks for the Jimmy journey. I’ve been loving it.
The Australian Made series of concerts were magic. Just a showcase of Australian talent from that period, which was immense. INXS, Barnes, The Triffids, The Models, The Divinyls, Mental As Anything, The Saints. Check out The Triffids, 'Wide Open Road' - very different, but a great Australian song (and band) from the '80s.
I’m just amazed that Jimmy can still sing when I look at this. I have a friend that used to go to his concerts and lose her voice for the next few days from all the screaming.☺️r
I see some reaction vocal coaches warning people this is his natural voice and to be careful if they want to try the style because few people can do it without damage.😂
I loooove him and cold chisel. I actually bought a Jimmy Barnes alarm clock - I live in Canada with my family so I set it and recorded for my friends (and particularly) my mum because she couldn’t stand his ‘d reaching’ and how I loved him so much and his music. Worked to great effect 👍😬. However i hadn’t properly turned it off and went off at 1pm in the morning! That was a shock and a half - I nearly had a heart attack! Lessons learned - but let me tell you you will never not wake up to a Jimmy Barnes alarm clock. Guess I got what possibly rightly deserved by pranksting my mum 👍🤣🤣🤣. Still brilliant and worth it. Love your reactions … seem like a genuinely lovely man. From an Aussie fan living in Canada. Oh sideline I’ve seen Barnsley twice in concert 👍💥💥💥🥰
I've been in an audience back in the early days of Cold Chisel when Jimmy jumped into the crowd ...he got mobbed lol Seems like he is doing really well and recovery is on track after his op. He's strong so I'm sure he will backnon stage very soon
I never would have discovered Jimmy Barnes if not for your channel. Thank you! Is that a Whataburger shirt I see you wearing? Sorry you had a rough day but you made my day better! Love from a fellow Texan!
Hey Texas , I was at Jimmy’s last gig before his surgery and let me tell you he didn’t hold back that night still gave it 100% full throttle like he always has .
This was great!! I don't know what it is about your teeth but they make me happy :D :D I grew up knowing the studio recording of this inside out and back to front, so seeing this perfect live version today was wonderful. I was 13 y/o in 1987 and the angst in this song was so satisfying to my dramatic little heart. Great reaction.
From my understanding the Australian made concerts were put on as Australian acts were sick of overseas acts coming out and playing when they thought they could do just as good or better and featured Jimmy of course and INXS, the divinyls etc. I was a huge INXS fan and loved the concert. Both Jimmy and INXS were on fire and to promote the tour Jimmy and INXS recorded “good times”. The vocals between Michael hutchence (RIP) and Jimmy were great. There is a you tube clip of them singing it at the “Australian made” concerts and it’s ends with so many legends on stage.
Hey Texas. Check out The Angels and Rose Tattoo, on the same record label as AC/ DC: Alberts... Being a Texan, Rose Tattoo toured with ZZ Top several times and were the band that influenced Guns N Roses... The Angels are just a great Aussie Pub band... enjoy!
You need to react to Cold Chisels cover of Knocking on heavens door. You need to get the right video. It's the live swingshift. There's no video just a still frame of Jimmy standing with the Mic stand at the last stand concert. The best cover of this Bob Dylan classic I have ever heard.
We have a few living treasures here in Australia. One of them was Olivia NJ when she was still with us, John Farnham and also Barnsey. He’s probably my most favourite rock singer. Thanks for reacting to it👍🏻
Hi Texas hope you’re well. This is an epic song!! Also, now that you know the song Working Class Man quite well, you may wish to check out Adam Hills (comedian) singing our national anthem to the tune of Working Class Man. It’s sooo good, very funny and clever. You’ll find it on RUclips. Thanks in advance!! ❤
Do you remember when we all played whole albums? I don’t know how old you are - you look young but there’s a fair tuft of white hair on your face but anyways - hearing what you’ve said here and elsewhere I think you’d enjoy this recommendation from 1993 of an entire concert. There’s no massive crowd and Jimmy is sober: probably at the start of his redemption but the bloke you love never disappeared. Just search for Live & Acoustic from Flesh & Wood
Fun Fact: For a short time before rejoining Chisel (after leaving for punching up a roadie) Barnsey replaced Bon Scott as lead singer of Fraternity after Bon joined AC/DC.
🗣Give You Another Artist too Check Out mate ‼️ Featuring Jimmy Barnes Son Jackie on Drums 🥁 and his Daughter Mahalia Barnes as a Singer / Back up Singer - Love Come Around ! Lachy ( Lockey ) Doley - I'm a Man ( Steve Windwood cover ) , or Voodoo Child ( Jimi Hendrix Cover ) Studio 301 live version ! A Must See to Believe Performance 🎹 ✅👌
You'll love cheap wine by Cold Chisel as well as Saturday Night, Breakfast at Sweethearts, Forever Now and Choir Girl. If you like a little mayhem about your Cold Chisel try Star Hotel or Rising Sun. If you like your Chisel Angry try Goodbye Astrid and You got Nothing I Want (live)
A funny anecdote. A good mate of mine that is a little older then me, told me that he stumbled into a Cold Chisel show very early in their career at a local club of ours. He walked out after two songs thinking to himself "Who's this clown up on stage screaming into the microphone, I'm outta here! This band will never be anything" He told me this story while we were both at a concert where Jimmy was performing in front of about 20,000 people. I have never put money on any of his bets after that! 😄
Hey Texas Love. Here's a great old video of Chisel in 1980 where Jimmy does his once-typical habit of handing his bottle of vodka around the crowd when performing. See 'Goodbye' at 33:44 ruclips.net/video/DHZV1aawozc/видео.html
Texas Love, Please react to Kasey Chambers -Lose Yourself, (it's an Eminem Cover) So do yourself a favour and react to it, as it will blow you away Love from Australia .🇦🇺

This era was probably the best Jimmy's voice ever was.

Living over here in NZ, Jimmy was a pretty major part of my teenage years. My go to guy, just like you. This song was my absolute favourite back in the day. Thanks for the Jimmy journey. I’ve been loving it.
I love you! You seem to be the only one who really gets Jimmy 🇦🇺
This is one of my favourite Jimmy songs from that album, which doesn't have a bad song on it.
I saw the perth gig
One of the best concerts ever. I attended the Brisbane concert in extreme heat and ended up sunburnt and didn't care lol
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes so many

That was such a great time to be alive in Aus.
Up there with y favourite Barnsey tracks, I love how you get him, not everyone does. ❤

Just saw a Jimmy post, he’s looking really happy and extremely well after his surgery 👍. Can’t keep a good man, with a wonderful wife down 😊
I never would have discovered Jimmy Barnes if not for your channel. Thank you! Is that a Whataburger shirt I see you wearing? Sorry you had a rough day but you made my day better! Love from a fellow Texan!
@donna, welcome to new music to your ears with this Aussie legend😁👏👍🏻
I'm glad you've become a fan of Jimmy! It is a Whataburger shirt😂 Nothing like a Double Meat Whataburger with fries and a shake! God Bless Texas!
Hey Texas , I was at Jimmy’s last gig before his surgery and let me tell you he didn’t hold back that night still gave it 100% full throttle like he always has .
NIce! I want to see him live, I hope by some miracle he comes to Texas!
I was there to , front row in Adelaide. You could see he was in pain but put on an awesome show as usual 🤘🤘🇦🇺🇦🇺
Love it mate ❤🍺👍

Hey Texas Love, considering the latest talk about Texas thinking of seceding, why don't you see if Texas can secede to Australia '87?
