The interesting part is Shen trying to run from his destiny for his whole life but in the last second instead of running he closed his eyes and accepted the death basically he did all of that to himself. Best villain
Tigress was my fav part of this movie. She was always one of my fav characters but her relationship with po and her emotional, mysterious, hidden backstory was so good and amazing. She was amazing and it was awesome to see how close her and po had gotten since the last movie. The hug alpng with the line "i cant watch another friend die" or "i cant watch you die" whatever the line was makes me bawl everytime.
Kung Fu Panda 2 is awesome. It takes on a very dark and mature tone, it even has some emotional moments. The action scenes are brilliantly choreographed, the story is amazing, and we learn more about Po’s backstory. Kung Fu Panda sounded like a dumb concept that I could easily make fun of. But it ended up being surprisingly great and managed to get two great sequels. This entire franchise is better than it has any right to be. I’ve seen Kung Fu Panda 2 multiple times. It just never stops being so good.
You called it from the very start, Magy, just how dark the start of the movie is and how it sets the tone more or less for the rest of the movie. Shen is an incredibly well done villain, just like in the previous movie, they never miss with that. The way in which he delivered that quote "The dead exist in the past...and I must tend to the future", that was chilling. Only serves to show how shackled by fate he was from the very start and his constant consults with the soothsayer only deepened his paranoia. That "Lord of the Rings" and "Star Wars" reference was excellent, very proud of you! 😂 It truly was an emotional moment, seeing Po finally achieving inner peace by remembering and accepting his past, no matter how painful it must've been. Another beautiful scene, and probably one of my favourites in this movie, is the one towards the end in which Po still offers Shen a hand, willing to help him let go of the past. That is one of your greatest qualities, Magy, you believing until the very last moment that Shen would change, let go of the past. In the first movie, Master Shifu creates the conditions for Tailong's escape while trying to keep him away, in this movie Sheng creates the conditions for Po to defeat him by trying to avoid having pandas around. Seems like nobody listens to Master Oogwai (One often meets his destiny in the path one takes to avoid it)
an argument can be made that shen was actually a black/white peacock since in the ying yang shot when po and the five are on their way and shen's also training, and they have them on opposite sides then immediately flip, shows him in black/white, implies that not only are they similar they are also the complete opposite. But also it was his own undoing that caused his death in the end, because he wouldn't stop. He had the opportunity but still followed through.
The part where po’s mother had made a sacrifice for herself makes me cry and I can’t control it because baby po crying for her, it’s just so sad, kung fu panda 2 is hard for me to watch

By killing pandas to avoid destiny, he set everything in motion to become po the dragon warrior.And in third part,when oogway say it was never his destiny to stop him n he has set another on that path, even kai try to change his destiny but things lead to po really become the dragon warrior. And there is nothing really that tragic about him - he was a spoiled child, who could accept being said "no". When good prospers evil rose from within, during the era of fear hope returns, a character who seals their own fate with an act for destruction and conquest surrenders themselves to rest. Characters Shen is corrupted by both pure evil and broken, because he allowed fate to seal his by invading villages and threatening lives only leading Po who believes to be the last of his kind stopped him, as prophecy is written, and the evil that corrupts more of himself then all of the world. Power can be trickiest thing to possess, like fear we must conquer them or they'll conquer us instead, but when we see goodness inside of ourselves as to the world we feel open to; we see fear as a reminder who we once were and who we must be again. As for power, it demands knowledge as its guidance; knowledge helps to balance our mind between being free or fall, respect all living things so they could respect you back, save the lives between friend and foe, open our hearts with greater understanding of compassion and love. Shen unfortunately lacks knowledge, without knowledge he sees one step forward towards his own destiny not knowing when he will be losing. Knowledge is power.

Lord Shen is actually a very terrifying villain. And while I don't think he's right by any means, I understand his motivations
