This movie was my childhood! I absolutely love how Marlin cares so much for his son that he would travel the entire ocean just to look for him. Anyone who's a father can relate so much.
Fun Fact, Magy: The shark’s name being “Bruce” is a nod to Jaws, where the mechanical shark they used (that rarely worked) was named Bruce, after director Steven Spielberg’s lawyer at the time. 🦈
Not to mention that Bruce has an Australian accent, which is a nod to Aussie slang where "Bruce" means a man. Monty Python live at the Hollywood Bowl also made reference to this.
Something I recently discovered: the opening scene was originally a flashback for Marlin in the middle of the movie, but test audiences found him unlikable without the knowledge of why he was so neurotic and overprotective of his son, so they changed it so he would be more sympathetic from the off. Also, I definitely recommend Finding Dory for you - as damn near perfect as this was, the sequel may even surpass it, especially for an older audience. Either way, thanks for the reaction, and do keep swimming! 🐟🐠🦈
You kind of forget just HOW GOOD Pixar was in their "prime". I mean, you go back after a couple of years and re-watch one of their movies and you are amazed not just at how well the animation has held up..... but the story telling elements and characters are iconic.
Marlin and Coral's relationship was really wholesome, even though it ended so early in the movie and in such a cruel manner. Proud of you for noticing so quickly that because of his trauma, Marlin turned really overprotective with Nemo. Watching those sharks when you were little and then "Jaws" recently, your fear of sharks is very much justified! Speaking of sharks, that "Sharks Annonymous" meeting was hilarious 😂 Seeing Marlin finally have fun with Dory during their race through the jellyfish was a satisfying moment, poor guy deserved to have some fun. Excellent comparison there, Dory being the cool auntie and Marlin the grumpy uncle 😂 Dory was a whole mood this movie, always having fun, no stress, no worries. We all should aspire to be more like her. The final act of the movie, with the escape from the fishtank, the escape from the fishnet, father and son finally reuniting, the "Tank Gang" finally free - that's one continuous way of messing with our hearts! Seeing this movie as a kid, then as an adult, offers different perspective. It can teach anyone and everyone something, no matter how old they are. I must admit, I never thought about the deeper meaning of fish representations of mental disorders, like you pointed out. That is a very astute observation. Thank you for the beautiful reaction, it's been a pleasure rewatching this with you ❤
Finding Nemo this film once again shows Pixar's creativity, with the story being centered around fish. Andrew Stanton did an awesome job for directing this movie. The part where Nemo meets Dory and later Marlin sees and found his son Nemo is emotional. The movie has incredibly beautiful and gorgeous 3D animation that is very impressive for the time of release, especially the water in the film, which actually looks life-like! The idea of having epic journey to searches for a lost son story is interesting.
Being in the open ocean or "in the blue" as we liked to call it back when I was teaching scuba diving in Bali is definitely quiet and eerie but if you're anywhere near a reef or just the bottom in general then there's a surprising amount of noise all around.
6:15 - it it wasn’t for the dad rushing in to scold him, I really don’t believe Nemo would have gone. He had already said he thought it wasn’t a good idea. And he didn’t budge from where he was. …But then Marlin came, and yelled at him- in front of his classmates- for something he hadn’t even done. And Nemo was angry and hurt. Tired of being treated as a helpless baby incapable of doing anything at all for himself. So… he did the thing.
One of my favorite Pixar Movies ever, had the Two Disc version with all these cool extra features which is something I will never forget because of all the content that was stuffed into it and all the bonus features and deleted scenes/behind the scenes stuff was so cool
Fun fact: female sharks can have many children with different males at once so I think that was a nod for Bruce as he probably actually couldn’t tell which was his actual dad
Hey, Magy and Lora. I really love "Finding Nemo" a lot. It's one of those rare movies where I wanted to sit in the front row and let the images wash out to the edges of my field of vision. The animation was so Pixar'd, the characters were very funny and likeable, and voice acting was surprisingly top-notch. I still love "Toy Story", but this one was definitely first-rate. Thumbs way up for me on "Finding Nemo". Finding Nemo (2003) 4/4 👍👍👍👍
This is simply one of the best things Disney/Pixar has ever done. So fun, so visually beautiful, so adventuresome, with SO much heart. I was sniffling right along with you beautiful ladies. Keep up the great reactions! 🥰
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid, the shark scene used to scare me back then. I like y’all reactions, you both show a lot of joy and it makes me Smile 😊.
The schreeching violins that accompany with Darla, is from the horror movie Psycho. On a side note Darla is named after former Pixar producer Darla K. Anderson who played a prank on director Andrew Stanton during a talk show and he was naming the "villian" of this movie, to get back at her.
I agree with you Magy, I LOVE this movie as an adult. That's what is so great about Pixar movies, they are amazing for both kids and adults!! :) I love this reaction and your happy tears!!!
Bruce is voiced by the late Barry Humphries who was most known was Dame Edna Everage and Sir Leslie Patterson on Australian TV. He also motion captured and voice acted as The Great Goblin in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Chum is voiced by Bruce Spence, most known for playing the Gyrocopter Pilot in Mad Max 2 and 3. He also played The Mouth of Sauron in the Extended version of The Lord of the RIngs: The Return of the King, Tion Medon in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, The Trainman in Matrix 2 and 3 and as Lord Roop in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Dawn Treader. Nigel is voiced by Geoffery Rush, best known for playing Captain Hector Barbabossa in Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Gil is voiced by Willem Dafoe, best known for playing Norman Osbourne/The Green Goblin in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy.
3:58 "Are you sure you wanna go to school, this year? 'Cause there's no problem if you don't. You can wait five or... six years." 😮 _Five or six?_ The entire clownfish _life_ expectancy is only six to _ten!_ How old is _Marlin?_
Sometimes a scene in a movie hits you differently depending on your own life, which is all subjective. The "MINE!" gulls are TERRIFYING when in big numbers. I'm in Central Scotland. It's pretty much Anytown UK. I regularly see HUGE gulls assaulting bins, swooping on people trying to grab food from their hand. I've seen them get kinda aggressive. Did I mention, they're feckin' HUGE, with a BIG WIDE wingspan, flying rather low. It is hilarious in Finding Nero. They just resonated with me a bit different lol.
Pixar are the ONLY studio that I can think of, who hit it out of the park on EVERY single movie. They have such a high standard. It must be a dream, if you're creative, to work at Pixar. This was my favourite Pixar movie for quite a few years, until Wall-E took the top spot. Let's face it though, every Pixar movie is a great rewatch, no matter how many times you've seen it. There's always little jokes you just notice.
Thanks for this one! My favorite (tied) Pixar film...being an overprotective parent to a single child myself. (#1 Nemo/Monster'sInc #3 Up/Cars). Laura, the hair and makeup were 100% perfect - when a straight man notices hair and makeup in a positive way you are doing something right. 😆
"When I was little". And you still are, Magy! 😜😂 I'm just joking, I'm not trying to be mean here. I love how tiny Magy is, makes me wanna pick her up & hug her! 😊🤗❤️😉🙂💕 Yep, Finding Dory, which came out in 2016. It's not as great as the 1st movie, but it was still a good movie & it's definitely worth a watch .
i just love, that u are enyoing this movie like i was at this age hahahaha Dont stop the reaction content pls, this is what i love from u two, and am ready to do anything to keep enjoying this
47:19 "I think that there is actually a _second_ movie to this. _Finding Dory_ or something like that." Yes. And that one's awesome, too. I don't know what _my_ opinion's worth to you, Magy, but as far as I'm concerned, consider _that_ one recommended as _well._
Unfortunately I just realized that the movie begins with a double tragedy. Marlin is arguing for the open view of the ocean, meaning he chose a place to live where creatures like the barracuda could come after them.
2:29 THAT…My friends… is THE EVIL DR.BARRY-KOODUH…. (PSSST… if you’re lost on this comment… first try sounding out the last name… next… drop the title (dr.)… then combine both names (1st&Last)…and then you’ll know what that thing is)😊😊😊
For someone who has Thalassophobia (Fear of the Ocean) I can’t watch this movie the same this movie TERRIFIES me! ESPECIALLY this part 16:42 and also that fish with the light is called an Angler Fish.
1:28 "I know that the drop off is _desirable,_ with the great schools and and the amazing view, but do we _really_ need so much space?" 🤔 A... _fish..._ talking about... great... _schools?_ Was this irony _deliberate?_
This movie was my childhood! I absolutely love how Marlin cares so much for his son that he would travel the entire ocean just to look for him. Anyone who's a father can relate so much.
same i saw this in theaters
This movie made me fall in love with the sea. A true Disney/Pixar classic

Finding Dory (2016) is definitely a fun sequel worth watching!

Easily one of Pixar's most colorful and joyous movies.
Thank you🤭 I try❤️

This is the movie that made me terrified of the ocean as a kid
The eerie way they portray the silence of the ocean is pure nightmare fuel

Give Laura a hug already. Such a wholesome movie 🥰

I still have my movie ticket from 2003 when I saw Nemo in theaters!
Finding Nemo what a nostalgic masterpiece!

Idc how old I get I will continue to love this film just like you guys!
12:46 "He's really....a nice guy!"
"He's amazing!"
😂
watch the sequel "Finding Dory" next!
19:33 "I just- I think it's _best_ if I just- if I carry on from here by myself."
No! Marlin, don't ditch Dory. You _need_ her!
28:35 "Do you _have_ your exit _buddy?"_
"Yes!"
See?
Sometimes parents are so concerned with protecting they forget to teach what’s important… Survival skills. Let them try, fail, and learn.
True.
You should try to be a parent first.
This is simply one of the best things Disney/Pixar has ever done. So fun, so visually beautiful, so adventuresome, with SO much heart. I was sniffling right along with you beautiful ladies. Keep up the great reactions! 🥰
Alright alright don’t hurt yourself kills me everytime 😂
As usual: Won the Academy Award for Animated Feature! 👈🏻 No Surprise There. 🎉🎉🎉
29:50 This part killed me with the Whale it is so funny from Dory's whale impressions! 😂🤣🐋
“Don’t you realize we’re all swimming in our own…”
“Shhh! Here he comes”
😂😂😂
How bad is it that I’ve seen this movie countless times and I just now got the joke of “Mount WANNA-HOCK-A-LOOGIE!” 😂
Never knew it was spelled like that
I love this movie Finding Nemo.❤❤💙🐟🐟🐟🌊🌊🌊
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid, the shark scene used to scare me back then.
I like y’all reactions, you both show a lot of joy and it makes me Smile 😊.
Rebought the 2-disc edition at a comic book store for a dollar less than a month ago, I got my nostalgia back

You guys are so good together. I love this collaboration.
This movie perfectly portrayed seagulls! Saw it with my Dad in theaters
I imagined both Magy and Laura were mermaids during this video especially when Bruce the shark smiled
Yes, Finding Dory is the second movie. And it came out in 2016. This movie and that film: have the same vibe as Shark Tale!
I agree with you Magy, I LOVE this movie as an adult. That's what is so great about Pixar movies, they are amazing for both kids and adults!! :) I love this reaction and your happy tears!!!

4:35 Lara’s expression in that moment
Did you know that the voice of the Hammerhead shark, Anchor is his name, is Eric Bana? And a year after this came out he was Prince Hector in Troy.
Fun fact! It's actually the female angler fish that are the big ones, the males are really small
3:58 "Are you sure you wanna go to school, this year? 'Cause there's no problem if you don't. You can wait five or... six years."
😮 _Five or six?_ The entire clownfish _life_ expectancy is only six to _ten!_ How old is _Marlin?_
17:40 No,No,No Eating here tonite your on a diet 🤣🤣

(29:53) My favorite scene.
Finding Dory is good too.
This was definitely my childhood movie. As a matter of fact, this was the very first movie I ever watched when I was 4 or 5 years old.
Rewatching this film makes me realise Ellen did SUCH a good job voice acting Dory- like genuinely one of the best VA’s I’ve seen
I think the both of you will really like the one about Dory. It explains a lot about her.
Finding Nemo is my favorite Pixar movie. Great reaction. Take care you two
Thanks for this one! 😆
Such a wonderful and good movie!
OMG I loved this when it came out! The tank gang fish made me laugh endlessly.
"When I was little". And you still are, Magy! 😜😂
I'm just joking, I'm not trying to be mean here. I love how tiny Magy is, makes me wanna pick her up & hug her! 😊🤗❤️😉🙂💕
Yep, Finding Dory, which came out in 2016. It's not as great as the 1st movie, but it was still a good movie & it's definitely worth a watch .
Can't believe you guys haven't reacted to "Finding Dory" yet
(37:14-24)Magy's expression though😆
This movie is so great
Thank you both for a great reaction.
16:33 hey… I’ve got a question for you guys… do/have you ever heard of/know what an ANGLER fish is…?
16:47 …”spoiler alert”… THAT is an ANGLER fish 😊😊😊
Finding Nemo, 1 of the best I love this movie, makes me cry and makes me laugh ❤
Movie: *exist*
Magy & Laura: 😭
Me: 🥹
You gotta see Finding Dory.
42:25 collaboration at its finest.
One of my favourite animated movies. Thank you both for reacting to it ☺️
i just love, that u are enyoing this movie like i was at this age hahahaha
Dont stop the reaction content pls, this is what i love from u two, and am ready to do anything to keep enjoying this
I really enjoyed this film when it came out as I was almost every day watching David Attenborough's Blue Planet.
47:19 "I think that there is actually a _second_ movie to this. _Finding Dory_ or something like that."
Yes. And that one's awesome, too. I don't know what _my_ opinion's worth to you, Magy, but as far as I'm concerned, consider _that_ one recommended as _well._
Cars 2 too!!!
27:07 I couldn't see which bird you were talking about, but I think you're referring to a pelican?
Every generation will love this movie.
15:15 “you gonna eat that??”😂😂😂😂
I remember I was in the 7th or 8th grade when Finding Nemo was theatrically released.
Unfortunately I just realized that the movie begins with a double tragedy. Marlin is arguing for the open view of the ocean, meaning he chose a place to live where creatures like the barracuda could come after them.
I always see the glass as half full. Unless I saw the water getting poured out, then it’s half empty. lol
12:04 Uh-oh
2:29 THAT…My friends… is THE EVIL DR.BARRY-KOODUH….
(PSSST… if you’re lost on this comment… first try sounding out the last name… next… drop the title (dr.)… then combine both names (1st&Last)…and then you’ll know what that thing is)😊😊😊
Wanahakaloogi is a pun on "wanna hock a loogie", meaning couthing up some spit from your throat.
How about Over the Hedge next.
Great reaction 👍😊 and great movie. BTW The second part " Finding Dora " is even better
The face from 37:15-37:22 😂😂😂
I love this movie so much, you're so pretty Magy!
Very pretty indeed.
Oh God... I was going to watch the video, but I can't stop looking at you, girls😂
You're Amazing!
For someone who has Thalassophobia (Fear of the Ocean) I can’t watch this movie the same this movie TERRIFIES me! ESPECIALLY this part 16:42 and also that fish with the light is called an Angler Fish.
Now you really have to watch FINDING DORY, for me it's way more emotional than FINDING NEMO
Fun fact back in Mexico in Spanish we call jelly fish Medusa in Spanish.
Finding Nemo is based on a true story......pretty sure i read that somewhere. Facts! lol ;) Love this movie.
Pixar named the shark Bruce in reference to the animatronic shark used in Jaws, which they nicknamed Bruce.
I love Laura's tattoo, sincerely, but why is it in English?
You to.🦊✨make my day.🇸🇪🙏😁😇🤟
Can you girls watch Finding Dory.
1:28 "I know that the drop off is _desirable,_ with the great schools and and the amazing view, but do we _really_ need so much space?"
🤔 A... _fish..._ talking about... great... _schools?_ Was this irony _deliberate?_
Watch finding dory from 2016
Girls, if you ever get to Disneyland, you can take a submarine to see Nemo’s world! 🐟🐠🐡🐙🦈
William Defoe did the voice of Gill
[23:35] *i feel like we need to talk about how Laura looks so much like Kendall Jenner at this point!!!!* _fr, specially when she's serious, wtf._ 🫨✨️
Another Pixar Classic and Hells yes the Turtles R Mad Dorbs🥰
Toy story 1 please😓😅
37:25 😆😆😆 Oh dear.
