Hello Sai, thank you for taking the right approach to things and not believing everything that you are told. This is a very good question. So people say Eco is better than Physics because primarily Eco is supposed to be a bit lighter as an MSc. But I still know people who took Eco for this reason and then hated it later on because it did not interest them. So interest comes first, I would say. Just research well as to what constitutes college physics because it might be a bit different from what you have already done. Another reason is that Eco might provide some placement opportunities of its own. But that is not enough of an advantage to study something you don't want to study for 4 years, and it also assumes that you are interested enough in Eco to work in that field. Combination wise, there will be as much opportunity in Phys + CS as there would be in Eco + CS, I assure you (this is mainly about research opportunity, as placements depend only on BE only, so combinations would matter only in research). If you are not a dropper then taking Physics would make you eligible for the INSPIRE scholarship, which will not be the case in Eco. With all this in mind you can take a decision.

is your given info applicable to mtech CSE@ bits placement as well??? not msc/dual degree, but students who did btech somewhere else and doing mtech in bits.
Yes most of it applies. The CS placements for ME are at least at par with BE grads, if not marginally better. In circuit branches, there are some companies which only recruit ME students and not BE students.
Hi bhaiya. First off thanks for all the informative content. Just wanyed to know should i opt for dual degree at pilani, go for eee/ece/eni at goa/hyd or mechanical at pilani campus. (not very interested in mechanical)
If one extra year of fee and effort is not an issue for you, the dual can be a good option, as landing circuit branches and mech as duals is fairly easy. You can take a look at the campus selection video I posted earlier, where I mention some advantages of circuit branches in Pilani.
Go for EEE/ECE/ ENI at goa/hyd. No need to waste one year for Pilani campus and there also, it is not guaranteed which branch you will get. Practice programming from first year itself if you want to get a good job. Nearly all companies allow EEE/ECE/ ENI to sit for IT placements.
Bhaiya, i scored 322 marks in BITSAT, bt i m confused as to which branch should i take, i want to take a branch in which i m interested n it also gives me a good placement,....bt i m nt able to figure out which branch will suit me the most, can u make a video on branch selection?
I will keep this in mind and try to make a video if possible. Till then, I suggest you speak to seniors from all branches, and get a better idea of what each branch consists of. That should help you clear out your mind a bit.
Could you please tell us what CGPA you scored to get you BE C.S. as the dual? Did it require you not getting into any clubs or departments in the first year?
Well I can tell you that a CGPA above 8.5 will be very safe to get CS as a dual. I have detailed the steps to manage a 9+ CG here from my personal experience. ruclips.net/video/NDzl8GznO68/видео.html The clubs and departments depend on the individual. If you can manage everything that is mentioned in the above video while devoting time to some clubs and departments, then by all means go for them. But be sure to always have your priorities straight.
Not much. Only 2-3 courses differ between the branches. They have all the same placement opportunities as well. So if EEE is your first preference, EnI should definitely be your second (as is not reflected if you go by cutoffs).
@@vibhorsingal3717 Yes somewhat as Eco would be a bit useful. I got 360 in BITSAT 2019. I am interested in Mechanical @ Pilani campus. What should I fill as 2nd option in preference . ? MS Physics Dual @ Pilani or Mechanical@Hyd or Mechanical@Goa
Mech is not hard to land as a dual. Very minimal effort towards your exams will land you mech. So if you are okay with the extra fee and extra effort, even dual is not a bad choice. I would however recommend dual because of a different reason. In a dual you get to experience basic courses of all branches in the first year. Thus you can make an informed guess at the end of the first year as to what BE you find best. Before joining BITS, I took up a dual with the intention of going for Mech as a BE. But by the end of the first year, I found that CS suits me much better, and I am thankful to the dual system to this day because of that.
Go for circuit branches at other campuses. Core engineering prospects are not that much promising in India. Handful of people get a chance to work in good automobile companies. Non-core jobs may not attract you.
