I love is that at 2:10 she seems interested in Daniel's explanation but then just drifts off and starts smelling the whisky and doesn't pay any attention at all
She’s absolutely my favorite noob. She’s so open to her senses. While the rest of us, when starting out couldn’t get past sweet, bitter, spicy and medicine-y. She’s pinpointing “scotch tape”, wet bark, wet dog, syrup and pancakes for Christ sake. I love her. And I’m striving to be as open as she is. I really hope she broadens her experience and doesn’t stop but keeps on experimenting. I can’t wait till the video titled “not so much a noob anymore”. I can’t wait to see how good she gets at this.
Totally agree. I think us Malt Mates are so accustomed to thinking of basic things like fruit and wood. But she's thinking outside of the box. Great lesson to learn from a noob,
@@amorton94 That's normal though. Especially when starting out. I did a video on how to taste whisky with some animation. It should help push you in the right direction. The whisky wheel is a massive help.
It is very interesting, I try and branch out but end on being a weiney because Im pretty sure my tasting is broken. My go to has always been Jim and coke, but self mixed. None of that premade nonsense. Its banana heavy. I did find Jim Beam double oak to be wonderful after being inspired by an episode a few ago.
The Briana quote that stuck with me the most from her first video was "Ooh I like that." "What's it taste like?" "Armpit." And I'm like this chick appreciates her senses differently than I do.
Just a suggestion for us that don't know how much one of these bottles typically costs, I would put the average price with the name each time you show it on the screen. Definitely bring her back again!
Its only helpful if you happen to live in Texas or at least US. The prices change so much based on where you are. What's 25 here is 70 in Australia and 40 in UK.. but what's cheap in UK is spendy here .

Revisiting this episode since I am only a month into learning and recently got my first bottle of Ardbeg 10, and actually read the description this time. Just have to say that I absolutely love the line "Every MB knows it is their job to be the whiskey enthusiast they wish they knew when they started their journey." 💜
He told us Dark Cove was his favorite, but we've known this for a long time. I'll guess his preference list was 5,3,4,1,2 (DC, Oogie, Corry, Ten, AN OA)
She has a very interesting way of describing flavors. Fresh plastic frisbee, wet dog, and scotch tape. Lol, all of those sound horrible as a description of flavor, but I took a nip from some of my favorite scotch off the shelf and I swear I can relate. 🤣😂🤣😂
It's so fun to come back and watch these videos after seeing Briana so many times in recent videos. This was the start of her journey and it's so cool to see!
These noob videos are probably my absolute favorite. Probably because I like the initial reactions and I try to have them on or watch them with people I have over to do our own tastings.
9:34 ..... I just love the different faces and expressions Briana makes! 😂 🤣 I can only imagine once those whiskeys hit home how much of a goof she is. She's been a good addition to the tribe. 🤘
I like Whiskey Vault / Whiskey tribe videos; but I was extremely excited for this particular episode when I saw Briana was back because the first episode she on, she just had such a good time with Rex and Daniel it was supremely fun to watch. Felt great for everybody involved.
7:27 - exactly why I don't like branching out and trying new things I don't know anything about. I can laugh at myself fine, I just don't like being mocked for something I am trying to be passionate about.
This is just entertaining. I love the contrast between experienced drinkers and the Noob. Plus she’s just hilarious. Extra points for the CA Raisins shirt!
I need to get my hands on the Uideadail and the An Oa. Ardbeg is one of my favorites. Lagavulin 16 is my overall favorite Scotch but Ardbeg is definitely my second favorite. I've had the Corryvreckan, the Ten, and the Wee Beastie. Loved em all. The $350-800 bottle is a little too rich for my blood lol

I get that savory tomato note from Lagavulin 16. To me it tastes herbal/vegetal (celery?), then a strong beefsteaktomato (with a pinch of salt), ending in a campfire and bacon with some funky notes in between (bandaids etc.).

Wow she really gave a nose of “fresh plastic frisbee.” That’s pure gold
We need merch with Briana’s iconic tasting notes.
Absolutely yes. A tasting place mat with these amazing notes as a dry-erase checklist.
