Jack knocking it out of the park again. Good on Mark for giving him room to do so. What’s special about Jack in these interviews with engineers is the clear respect going both directions, but also the classic giggle and joking around the engineers get in on too. It humanizes them beyond what just putting them on screen does. Allows them to deviate from some of the crafted material they have to stick to, and be themselves. Jack does this very gracefully. I know the 911 is probably a far better car dynamically, probably faster on the road and the track, and likely more reliable… But I don’t care. If I was getting a car in that price range, I’m getting this thing. At the end of the day, these types of cars will very rarely be driven at 9 or even 10/10ths, so who cares that the turbo S is a better driving machine at the limit? I’d prefer to turn around in every parking lot and see this thing sitting there waiting for me.

I got to walk around the new Vantage at the showroom in Midtown NYC earlier this year. The car is GORGEOUS and the one on display was in the F1 team color with the AMR bright green accents. The showroom is excellent too, they can darken the entire space and there’s essentially a 360 degree customization space. It was pretty incredible and clearly Aston is taking themselves and this new car very seriously. As a Porsche fan, I would think an equivalent 911 is the more “sensible” choice, but my goodness is this car special. I’d probably rather have one of these if I’m being honest and were also $250,000 richer than I am right now
DCT if you want the feel of getting kicking in the nuts through your lower L2 disc in your spine. it's a feeling for sure, how the G80 went compared to the F80 i.e. this thing finally looks refined for the new Vantage-
I realize the buyer for a new Vantage is very likely not cross shopping a C8Z, but it is interestingly a very similar tale with the current gen Vantage and Corvette. It’s a car that has to be everything to everyone and therefore is inherently a compromise between worlds. The Vantage is no doubt a much better looker than the C8Z, but with how exotic the drivetrain is from Corvette right now I think if someone was cross shopping it would be a very hard argument for the Vantage. I really appreciate though that the Vantage sticks to its identity rather than being so obviously a spec sheet numbers chaser.
As a current E63s owner, i never would have thought a day would arrive that I thought an Aston would be in my sights...... but with Merc looking to kill the 4L V8 (seemingly) any year now... the motor I've fallen in love with may lead me into an Aston... of all things
Interior now is absolutely gorgeous but that steering wheel is straight out of an E-Klasse Benz with an AM badge! they could change the airbag cover at least!
I love the profile of the Vantage. I don’t like the front or the rear anymore, they’re both too busy for my taste. I hope to see one of these on the road since I’m sure the road presence in person is different than on video. However, for $200k I doubt I will. Personally I’d rather see cars with lower weight, lower power, and a lower price. Keep the power to weight ratio the same, but lowering the weight will improve handling, feel, and braking performance. I think those days are gone though. I don’t see getting a new car for that reason.
No 911 can compare with this level of beauty, drama and exotic. Yes, they are probabbly more reliable, better drivers cars and faster. But for road driving, I want this.
It's a reference to the song "Mo Money Mo Problems" by the Notorious B.I.G. Using "less" instead of "fewer" preserves the number of syllables and keeps the same cadence as the song title. Think of it as poetic license.
We used to have that with the DIN standard. Driving an old 90's beater and wish you had some music? Slap in a few door speakers and a $100 single DIN head unit, done. Try changing the infotainment now though...
Great video. Although this is a car 99.9% of us can never afford and symbolize only the elite, it is cool that the engineers are getting the proper funding to make something they love.
I drove a 2017 Vantage at Dream Racing (Las Vegas Speedway), other than the slow automatic trans shifting it was amazing. Nothing but burly V8 noise and lapped a GT-R (low performance driver) with no step-out despite ignoring my co-driver at times.
Weight seems very good vs Lexus LC500, which lost to an AM by 1 pt in Motor Trend Head 2 Head where price no object. Now AM really stands out, makes prior AM more attainable, and extra $ over LC justifiable. AM did not need perf #s car. Respect! Back to my GSF n manual 911
In English, we use the word "fewer" to describe ALL things that can be counted: FEWER problems, fewer mistakes, fewer videos, fewer downvotes. It is only things and stuff which can't be counted where "less" is used: Less love. Less milk. Less hate. Less hassle. And so, when you see a sign that says, "12 ITEMS OR LESS" at a supermarket, you know you are dealing with poorly educated people.
Damn, its face looks like its in panic, scared. I liked the designs that seemed serious, mean and elegant, this is just funny looking. Great video by the way, as always
I thought I remember hearing from you guys that we will be seeing more regular cars for regular people. I know it’s probably hard to pass something up like this however
I have started falling in love with the new (and old) Aston Martins, and this new Vantage checks a lot of boxes. With that said, I would love to see a back-to-back test between the Vantage and BMW M4, as well as the DB11 and M8. Sure, the Aston is a much better-looking car with bespoke everything. But in reality, all of the AM cars seem to be traction-limited in acceleration and almost twice the price of the BMW's.
What an amazing Aston!!! Did you really go 230+ speed limit as it shown on 17:14 min in the video? Is that in MPH or KMH? If its in MPH then i'll need to come up w a plan how get a hand of it.
Really like the shape, the old one wasn’t bad either. Definitely looks so much more exotic than the none GT 911s to my eyes Thought James the engineer came across really well, I wasn’t watching the screen initially just listening and when I got back to the screen I was surprised as expected a much older looking guy from the maturity of his language and comments
I'd be the first to take a 911 over anything else, it's my dream car. There's only ever been two new cars that have made me think otherwise, the Jaguar F Type and now this. What a gorgeous vehicle, and if I had the funds for one of these, I'd have one in my garage over a 911 in a heartbeat.

This car makes me day dreaming, what a beautiful art piece. Thank you again for spoiling us with this high quality content.
If someone were to ask me my favorite RUclips channel, just one, it would be this one. They ask all the right questions. Savage Geese I love you guys!
Red Lobster closed 50 restaurants today, mark failed.
Finally. A carmaker returning to "If you can afford it, it's worth it." Love to see it.
Perfect entrance onto 70-I in the beginning at Bentleyville. Engine is running good.
Beautiful car, good sound, but I would still prefer the LC500 over this.
On a side note, Jack, say MarTin, not MarDin.
Fewer things, less ‘stuff’ -> Fewer problems, less problematic. Sorry, had to succumb to my OCD or it would have bugged me all day. Love the channel!
It's a reference to the song "Mo Money Mo Problems" by the Notorious B.I.G. Using "less" instead of "fewer" preserves the number of syllables and keeps the same cadence as the song title. Think of it as poetic license.
@@jpl8878 I stand humbly corrected, with a good dose of, “Doh!” :)
@@doctormoonbass9616 haha it happens to the best of us.
I really Love this car. If I can afford it in 2 yrs I will get one hopefully they will still offer it.
If you want your infotainment system to be future proof, make it modular and and upgradeable
We used to have that with the DIN standard.
Driving an old 90's beater and wish you had some music? Slap in a few door speakers and a $100 single DIN head unit, done. Try changing the infotainment now though...
Stop it right now! You're talking too much sense!
@misternordberg3675 a car like this shouldn't even have factory infotainment, it ruins the cars ability to be timeless
The heart of the car, the Mercedes AMG twin turbo engine is an award winning engine, super power and drivability, wrapped in a beautiful body.
You guys need to review a late model V8 Vantage manual (2012-2016). I think you’d be pleasantly surprised how good it is.
I’m between getting one of these and a 2021 Vantage right now, the manual is hard to pass up!
3700 lbs ? That's not bad for a current lux sports car. The days of the Lotus Elise are LONG gone.
it's within a couple hundred pounds of a 2005 V8 Vantage. Astons have never been lightweights.
Ftype weighs less I think
Wired Apple Carplay? For $200k, I expect wireless Apple Carplay.
Great exterior and interior upgrade. Nice video.
Great video. Although this is a car 99.9% of us can never afford and symbolize only the elite, it is cool that the engineers are getting the proper funding to make something they love.
Can't help but see the gr86/brz in the front end still insanely beautiful tho.
The most obvious competitor is Roma, for many reasons (front V8, style/appeal, price), yet most reviewers barely mention Ferrari. I wonder why?
Roma is totally forgotten. I’m yet to see one on the street. Up until your comment I didn’t think of it at all, which probably says a lot.
@@camryt Or a Portonfino.
@@camryt you've summed up Ferrari as a whole for me lately.
Everyone was disappointed by the Roma.
A friend got a Roma only because he wasn't allowed to get a 296 without ordering one first. He said once his 296 comes in he's selling the Roma back
Engine sounds awesome! Car looks heavy in transitions, but is confident and composed.
I drove a 2017 Vantage at Dream Racing (Las Vegas Speedway), other than the slow automatic trans shifting it was amazing. Nothing but burly V8 noise and lapped a GT-R (low performance driver) with no step-out despite ignoring my co-driver at times.
Looks like a baby one-77 in a way.
I know it's very early but in my opinion this is one of the best looking cars ever created!
My favorite channel! Your videos are incredible. No exceptions
The Jack & Zack spinoff continues!!!
Beautiful ride, I think this style will age greatly.
Excellent video, super cool car. Why is Mark missing so much of these mew videos? He’s like a combustion engine, slowing getting phased out.
Also, holy actual shit i might have a new dream car. That thing is absolutely GORGEOUS.
Very nice car. Love the interior.
Good to see you James! Well done team
I don't understand any of the tech talk it goes completely over my head but I like the look and sounds of the new AM Vantage.
best AM ever...lets see if they hold their values now..
Damn, its face looks like its in panic, scared. I liked the designs that seemed serious, mean and elegant, this is just funny looking. Great video by the way, as always
I thought I remember hearing from you guys that we will be seeing more regular cars for regular people. I know it’s probably hard to pass something up like this however
It is really easy to forget, as an engineer, not everyone is an engineer and I can't expect the interviews to be that nuanced.
Drive off the dealers lot, cut the exhaust off, and tune it for E85 so you can say it has more power than a hellcat.
I bet this thing roars
Great interview, Jack.
All it really needed was an interior upgrade, but glad they did a whole makeover
What an amazing Aston!!! Did you really go 230+ speed limit as it shown on 17:14 min in the video? Is that in MPH or KMH? If its in MPH then i'll need to come up w a plan how get a hand of it.
Beautiful car. Hopefully new relationship with Honda in F1 will help both, one with reliability and the other with materials bin.
Really like the shape, the old one wasn’t bad either.
Definitely looks so much more exotic than the none GT 911s to my eyes
Thought James the engineer came across really well, I wasn’t watching the screen initially just listening and when I got back to the screen I was surprised as expected a much older looking guy from the maturity of his language and comments
I like a fly landed on the engineer's knee at 10:09 and never left.
gorgeous cinematography!
Man, look at this angle 4:36 🤤. Car is absolutely stunning.
