Pilates for Tight Hips and Shoulders | 30 Min Stretch & Flow Session

- Join me for a 30 minute pilates workout to release tight hips and shoulders. This is a full body workout with an emphasis on releasing tension in the hips and shoulders to improve your movement and reduce any stiffness in the joints as well as give you a great workout session. I highly recommend this one for anyone working from home or looking for an active recovery session. It will both stretch and strengthen hips, shoulders and chest muscles. It features exercises to really open up the front of the chest, stretch the hip flexors and thigh muscles and as always contains a healthy dose of core strength exercises too.
I do a live class every Friday at 10am to keep people feeling motivated as well as mindful of taking care of their body. All the exercises are low impact with an emphasis on building core strength and flexibility So do press the notifications bell to give you a gentle reminder when I have a new workout coming up.

Fantastic Rachel I am an aging surfer and this routine has got my pop up to my feet back to how it was 10 years ago and given me a new lease of life...awesome stuff

Hi Rachel, I hope you are well. You are such a good teacher. I am a senior and I wondered if you could explain how to do the hip exercises without kneeling, as I have had knee replacement surgery on both knees, so kneeling is not an option. Thank you for the great classes!

I had trouble with the first movement keeping my elbows together and lifting my arms above my head with my hands in prayer position. I was wondering, is it more important to keep your hands together and let your elbows separate or keep your elbows together and let your hands separate earlier? Apologies if this was addressed.

Oh nooooo another to add to my absolutely ’favourite’ list. Felt really good with a few welcomed popping of the lumber spine with some movement so now feel much looser, a “juicy” spine (i loved that description). Thank you Rachel, coffee sent with pleasure via Ko-Fi 🙏❤️
Wonderful video. Was actually a little bit painful as my hips are extremely tight + arthritic. But felt good afterwards. I do pilates almost everyday. So surprised my hips felt so tight today. Thanks Rachel. Will have to do this video more often to alleviate the stiffness.

Awww yes Yvonne, sounds like those hamstrings need a little more stretching, perhaps hold the hamstring stretches a little longer to give them a chance to release. That might help 😘
