I hate EVERYTHING about this storyline and this fate for Logan.
Whhhhy? Couldn’t he get to live out his life after doing so much work to become a better person? Why couldn’t we get to see that kind of example in a man?!?
Feel so betrayed after riding for this show all these years. This was a BIG mistake, HUGE!! And I’m done with the show without Logan. Sorry I don’t care about Veronica’s “ark” after this. #LoganDeservesBetter

Jason Dohring was my favorite character, the scenes between him and veronica were what kept me watching.
He is a strong male lead for sure!
I will be watching for his next show or movie and I hope it has an epic love story because he makes it so believable.

I love Jason Dohring, and his character Logan was the heart of Veronica Mars.
Logan was my favourite character, and his relationship with Veronica was one of my OTPs. Dohring did an AMAZING job with this role, really stunning. I will definitely not be watching any further seasons.
I completely agree with you and I feel so terrible for Jason Dohring! The show gets this huge revival, this successful following, new and old, and could potentially go on for years (Kristen Bell herself said she'd play the character until she's in her 80s), and now he has to miss out on all of it. It just feels like a crappy way to treat a friend (assuming that Rob Thomas and him get along, which I believe they do). I can only hope they have an agreement that he'll be back in flashbacks (newly filmed ones, obviously) because I just feel like it's awful that he doesn't have the chance to share in the future of this show.
Logan and Veronica were very realistic as a couple as they have their ups and downs, love this pair on television. ..It crushed me to see Logan get killed at the end, sad, love Jason and Kristen they had chemistry on this great show..
I don't get what Rob Thomas was thinking. He killed of Logan and had Veronica leave Neptune and the amasing supporting cast behind.
Does he not understand what made this show great in the first place?
He is saying that he would like to make the show continuous throughout maybe even decades - he would write a season or a mini series whenever he gets a green light from a network and Kristen Bell is available. In order for this to happen, it is best if Veronica is alone, not attached to the rest of the cast and their schedules.

@@boomds5602 You don't know how this industry works. Exactly, if Kristen says April is the month for shooting it, then it has to be April, and the rest of the cast has to make time. It's very difficult this way. Rob is busy, Jason is busy, the rest MIGHT get busy. And then what? They wait another year to get them all together?
Don't get me wrong - if they had several seasons in a row waiting for them, then sure, V can stay in Neptune. But if they're planning to do one series every few years, then the old format just doesn't work.
It doesn't mean Rob had to kill Logan of course.
@@iamsultana Yes but that is the problem. Rob Thomas wants to turn this series to a strictly mystery show which I think is the wrong move. The reason why is that besides the Lily Kane murder none of the big cases where ever really that interesting.

I would watch Jason in anything! His performances are so emotionally connected. I could not watch any more seasons without Logan. I love his integrity as a character. I don’t think a character loss has affected me since Ponyboy lost Johnny and Dally. Stay gold Jason. Please be on the screen again soon ♥️
Jason should be incredibly proud of the work he's done on Veronica Mars (I've also caught him on other shows and been impressed). He clearly cares a great deal about his craft, and has a sense of humble gratitude for the fans who make it possible. I'm genuinely bothered that his work was thrown away for such callous, sexist reasons by Rob and worse, he's been trotted out to do so many interviews when no one bothered to be on set for his last day of shooting, as is TV set etiquette and custom. That disrespect and lack of care with his creation is more offensive to me than the actual fact of what was done to Logan. The how and why matter so much more than the what.
Much love to Jason. I know he's not really looking online, but I hope someone in his life is telling him about the outpouring of love and appreciation going strong for 10 days now.
I feel so badly for Jason who seems so crushed by what happened. It’s such an idiotic way for his character to go out and so full of plot holes. As I’ve said elsewhere, no one (not the police, nor Keith, nor Veronica) thought about the fact that Penn had been in her car and he had a bag? Searching her vehicle would have been standard police procedure and Marcia is a very by-the-book cop!
That being said, it’s kinda funny how he doesn’t really answer a lot of the questions. (Just listen to his answer about other shows of which he is a fan.) He just keeps talking about how they tried to do good work and represent the characters properly and bring about a top notch show. I don’t blame him...he has to stick to the company line but it’s amusing, and a bit sad, to listen to.
I’m still in denial about it.
Jason is definitely a class act!!! Hope to see more of him in the future. He brought incredible depth to the Logan Echolls character.

Jason Dohring says that he cared so much about this role and it really showed. He also deserves more credit than he got because he helped train actors such as Ryan Hansen and Francis Capra so helped make the overall quality of the show so good. He actually seems to share quite a bit with his character: playful, witty, intense and of course charismatic! Go Jason. We love you. 🤟

@@CassieMosher The so-called Logan fans are marking it miserable for other fans of the show, Hulu, and the cast/crew. If I were Rob, Kristen, and/or hulu i would reluctant to renew the series based on the childish reactions of the fan base. The fans are obviously never going to allow Veronica to grow up.
This video definitely helped me through it all more so than any other video I watched. Nice job handling this for both parties. I really hope they do flashbacks as suggested with Logan because he is the yin to her yang. He acts as her voice of reason.

This season is an example of a very bad, lazy writing. I've been a fan of this show for years but I'm not anymore. I'm so sorry Jason for the way they treated you and your character. Tbh, how they treated all of the characters. Wallace and Weevil got like five minutes total? And I didn't even recognise Veronica, all the things I loved her for were gone this season. I don't know what these future seasons that Rob is talking about are for but surely not for marshmallows.
I highly disagree, I think season 4 was great. It was just really sad they killed off Logan.
I vote for a This Is Us kinda of script! Where we know he is dead but we still get amazing flashback moments from those past years between the movie and season 4. 🤷🏻♀️ or they can somehow just bring him back and we can all be happy. But I just can’t take that the character with the best development just get that ending.

I cried when Logan went out to the car on the final episode. He is as much a part of VM as anyone. I fell in love with the couple and so sad to see this ending. 😢
I don't understand what in the world the writers were thinking when they created this season 4. First off, the love story between the two of them is what got me going on this show. Now to have it ripped away for no reason other than bad, and I mean very bad, script writing is just ludicrous! I hope he finds another good story and we all get to see him in it. I don't think I can watch anymore after that season. While I truly enjoyed seeing all the characters again, I didn't enjoy the rushed writing, the bad plot holes, the horrificly bad ending, unless the writers can honestly justify why they had him killed, it's a massive letdown.

did anyone else feel like veronica's voiceover writing felt clunky? i never noticed that in the original series, but this time around, it just didnt smoothly roll into the rest of the show...i feel like it didnt quite come together. dont get me wrong, i want to see seasons and seasons of these characters--- i just dont know about these long-form mysteries like the movie and this 8-episode run---- i think it is really missing the side stories and smaller story arcs of individual characters. it's something that 'buffy' did really well--- it had a seasonal arc, but each episode had a monster-of-the-week plot too.
y'all were the first couple who I truly loved like I actually loved. I would cry when y'all would break up. Gosh I'm crying right now. this is so sad
Veronica Mars doesn’t exist without Logan he’s the only reason worth watching
Thank God he was not Duncan. He is perfect for Logan and made it into everything one could imagine. Jason as Logan and James Marsters as Spike are the best players who took a role that was not even supposed to be a main character or love interest and took themselves to a place where there was no other option than to have them basically BE the show and cannot live without them on it or as the love interest. ….Thus, why Rob destroyed the series when he killed Logan. And Joss was smart enough to have have Spike come back to life.
I'm still mad about the ending, but not because Logan is dead. Rob wanted to kill Logan? I don't think it's neccessary, but "fine"-ish. Do it in this meaningless way? It's totally not. It was disrespectful to the fans (or a huge part of them), and to the character as well, especially that the episode jumps a year instantly (or if you like it better returned to present tense, because that's when I realized that Veronica was telling the whole story in past tense).
Not to mention, I think there would be at least two way to do it better. If Logan was died because of an earlier bomb it would meant the case more personal for Veronica, like in the original show.
Or Logan should be killed by an unknown person as a cliffhanger at the end of the season, and the next season could be about that. I think in both way the fans would more likely to accept that, instead of this silly, lazy writing.
Other than that, I think the other people of the cast and Neptune as a location was always part of the show, and it seems that they will be taking Veronica out of Neptune and solve cases in different locations in the next season (if it will be exist). If I want to watch crime without characterization, I think there are many other shows. But that's not why I like VM and I certainly don't want to watch VM in a "Murder she wrote" style.
Honestly it's so dumb how he was in the military for so long and yet he got bombed by a "murderhead". Really think Logan deserved better :(

It isn't even just as simple as "not fair to Logan" or "not fair to the fans". Rob has completely missed the point of what people love about Veronica Mars. While the mysteries are good, it's not the focal point. We love the relationships, the universe he created, the interactions with friends, family, and obviously loved ones. We love that we get to see Veronica grow from the trauma she's suffered. The new season shows us how she deals with that same trauma 15 years later, as a fully grown adult. There's nothing "teen" about married life, nothing teen about dealing with being an army wife (having to deal with the distress of months without the one you love, fearing he could die at any moment), there's nothing teen about working through your issues. Rob says it's the perfect marriage - are you serious. Veronica (and Logan and their relationship) are far from perfect. Writing them so that they get married and showing us how they work through their issues (because let's be real, they both still have issues), that's the real way to shed the teenage soap aspect - not just by killing Logan. That accomplishes nothing.

Season 4 made me mad. I probably wouldn't have ever bothered with a Season 5 if it had gone forward because Logan was a big reason why I liked the show to begin with!
I've started re-watching from season 1. Logan had a tough life with his girlfriend (Lilly Kane) being murdered by his father and his mother committing suicide by jumping off a bridge. I felt that Veronica was his rock all throughout the three seasons, the movie and the fourth season. Also, Logan was their for Veronica in so many ways when she wasn't standing on her two feet. For example: when Bever aka Cassidy killed her father but turned out that he never got on the plane. I understand the reasons he got killed off but there could be other ways!! I wanted their happily ever after. There were married less than an hour or so and he dies! I am still in mourning Rob Thomas.

@@boomds5602 You can argue the same of every production in the history of art. I guess what you would have liked was for the show to become Hart to Hart. I am a Marshmellow who supported the show by buying the dvds and supporting the Kickstarter so I am not leaving a comment to be disruptive. What happened, happened and whether the character is dead or in a coma it still forces Veronica to have adventures outside of Neptune. Veronica herself was having trouble emotionally growing while Logan had actually changed for the better. We will see how her loss effects her interaction with others and what aspects of her detective skills the new cases will allow her to showcase. Sorry but Death is part of life and Love does not conquer all.

Of course it didn't have to happen. Clever writing and dynamic dialogue between the leads is what NEEDS to happen for the show to have a future, weak cliches are certainly not that.
