Nate Curtiss's point about video view caps within niches really hit home for me. It takes a lot of unnecessary pressure off content creators, especially those in smaller niches who might expect massive view counts. He's right, it's all relative! A video with 2,000 views could be considered a huge success in one niche, while another might expect millions. That's such valuable advice!
I'm just starting out with my channel, but your videos have helped me out a lot so far! Hopefully I can make it. I will come back to this comment in 6 months.
Shorts are definitely helping our new channel. These tips were very inspiring. I think we all have those days where we ask ourselves if it worth it, with all the time it takes. I sure hope it is.
Dude, I love this. I been a subscriber for months now. I learned from some tips through your videos and learned myself to grow as a channel. Not only you been helpful in helping us as youtubers, but it's awesome to see you as a youtube coach interviewing bigger youtubers. We appreciate you.
I love how Matt is so optimistic, and I love how there is always a good thing that will come your way, it’s up to you to put in the work and learn something that can lead to something else. Ahh everyone good luck and have fun!!
Hi! Maritza here from South African. Thank you for the great advice. 5 days and two videos in, 26 subs. I love the learning process and the people I meet. I hope to grow my channel so the people of SA can tell their stories.
Such an innovative video. I love that Matt Pat said 'focus on learning' because these are the early days. Recently i have been doing that. I have stopped beating myself over things I can't control like trying to go viral and have lots of subs over night cos you can have that and have poor quality subs (i have experienced this in my previous channel) I am more focused on building a loyal community, giving value and scaling my channel gradually so much so that i am so excited when i see a comment at all under my video even if the video still has about a 100 views cos it means that the right people are Watching it (bcos someone left a relevant comment) I also worked on my audio because I noticed that my audio needed a little work. Same thing I did with my editing. Though i am a growing faceless RUclips channel. I am happy taking these baby steps while giving value to my subscribers. Thanks for the video
Can we just take a minute to Appreciate Marcus Jones for stepping up to these Big RUclipsrs and asking advice for other smaller RUclipsrs💯🤝🙏... IT TAKES GUTS...Definitely Valuable information Shared. just had to Sub thanks Marc we Love your content.
Great video! Thank you for all the tips. I'm growing slowly but surely. I'm putting this advice on sticky notes around my computer to remember them each time I create a video.
Love the advice from all of these creators! Yes I totally agree with being consistent and not quitting too early, just create and continue to iterate until you grow your community and reach more people to impact or entertain.
Marcus I've watched a lot of RUclips advice videos but this was perhaps the most memorable of them all. I love your conclusion at the end, there are many ways to succeed, but remember, you only lose when you quit.
i created my channel about two months ago, and im loving it. ive not gotten thousands of views or anything. but im loving the process and having people enjoy my content
Those are such great questions you are asking Marcus, as a small channel these are the things i wondered about and to hear it from bigger creators are great. Confirms allot of things for to me personally. Allot of people would say chase the hype the trending topics and yeah most are doing this but im more of a long form content creator but allot of what im getting is making sure you do what you enjoy and will enjoy long term and yeah what i enjoy doesnt get much views and im not sure if it will ever but i dont want to grow on content i don't enjoy making because that message is so important and im sure with this mindset i will reach my goal. Thank you for this!!!!!! I always watch your video and to be honest i thought i subscribed and it seems i didnt. But i am now!
Glad you found the video helpful! That's true, loving what you do should be #1. I also think you can find a balance between content that you love + content that gets views. You just gotta experiment and find a formula that works! That's how Matpat started - you're on the right track 😀
Thanks Marcus, this video was full of valuable advice! I’m 10 days in from my channel launch with my first 4 videos and I have accumulated 80+ subs which I feel is good start. Your videos have been really helpful and inspiring. Cheers mate!
Marcus Jones, this is the video i’ve been waiting. Thank you 🐐 ❤ Edit: The best youtube video regarding advice to grow on RUclips. Like this is that video ❤
Great Vid, Lots of advice for me to try out, follow MatPat's advice of experiment now when failing has minimal impact, and Jenny's advice of having not truly failed until I quit.
I just started about 2 weeks ago, im so confused on the "niche" aspect of it as a full time videographer. I make so much different content i feel like the algorithm doesnt like it 😭. I refuse to give up though! I cant wait to see my kids face when i get that play button! All small creators keep going dont give up!🙌❤️
Really loved this video, above all as you say later, there's almost no overlap between every single one of them. Everyone is always looking for that one repeatable path, but there's so many ways to grow and it depends on so many different things, that all of them are right. Thanks for making the video Marcus, I hope it gets a lot more views than it has right now.
Love the advice on this video!! Well done 👍🏽 looking for my first 1k so it’s great absorbing the knowledge through interviews like this 🙂 best of luck everyone!
Great vid as always man! You can really tell the ones that are speaking from real experience and those that are just regurgitating the same tips that every YT creator echos. The last interview was the best IMO. Keep them comin Marcus!
I have just had my biggest Short yet view-wise, which I am extremely happy about. Gives me motivation to continue and start editing long form videos. 💪🏼 Advice for everyone: make sure to subscribe to the channel and like the video, even if you don't care as much. For tiny to small channels, it is appreciated the most!
Grateful for my 224 awesome subscribers! 🥰🙌 Your support keeps me going every day. Tough times come and go, but I’m here to stay, growing and improving for all of us. Let’s keep the journey going! 💪💫
Hah! I spy Andra and the back of my head during the MatPat section. This video was so fun, taking the teaching/education aspect of your channel, giving some behind the scenes at VidSummit, and seeing some of our favorite creators all in one, well done! Appreciate more of the conversation around your niche, and making it specific to what you can bring to it. Also love the advice that you should make content in a category that if it blows up, you're excited to dive in-I have met many that have burned themselves out from RUclips because they've done well but it was more jumping on trends and not actually what they're interested in. Great video Marcus and great meeting you at VidSummit!
This is a video that ought to be saved and come back when you're struggling, to remember it is okay to bloom late, the point is the skills that you learn. That will be my one point to go moto. thank you.
Trying to earn money independently from RUclips. But somehow algorithm doesn’t seem to agree with me. Still trying to move forward without giving up. Best wishes to everyone out there. You got this!!
I've just started a youtube channel, sharing my knowledge of business, investing and building wealth. I got 5 videos filmed in one day and have 1 scheduled a week to go live. I work full time and have 2 small kids so just trying to work with the time I have 😊
I find Jenny Hoyas very intriguing. Her views are all from shorts which is a whole different ball game. She analysed every successful You Tuber out there and worked out how they make it work. She appears to have 2 brains, or maybe even more.
I am close to 9k subscribers in less than a year, and I didn't do anything special. What I tried to post to at least 3 to 5 shorts a week, that's all. Since I posted more shorts with 8k plus subscribers, I am still not monetized 😅. I am more focused on building my fan base first, and the rest will come.
Awesome Video Marcus! 🚀 Amazing to hear these huge creators advice. Maybe me or someone else in these comments will be huge and give advice to small creators in a couple of years. Never give up! 💪

@@Olivia_Wilson236 Thanks! I’ve been working on my channel for a while now but I can’t seem to figure it all out. My thumbnails are good, my ideas are good, and I’m pretty sure my videos are also good. It’s just that they can’t seem to reach that many views. I guess I just have to remember that “The only way to lose is when you give up” :)
Great content, I just recently switched niche and started this new channel in Spanish, doing videos about a niche that I love has been the best advice I heard.
I feel I've still somehow not niched down enough as a horror story narrator. I have an on screen storyteller vibe in a dim room; making it obvious I'm not an AI reading stories (something many speak out against on larger channels). I had hoped this and the atmosphere would gain me some traction but thus far I've not been able to find a way to appeal to the audience I hoped to gain by now. I certainly do need to work on titles and thumbnails though.
Nice interviews ❤ What is a boring niche? A boring niche could possibly be interesting to some people, So, there is no such thing to consider as a boring niche. I am pointing here to the target audience, which means if you consider a niche boring, then you are not the target audience. Right?
