Yes, you are telling the truth, my grandma made cakes the same way!! She didn't own an electric mixer, always use her wooden spoon or this big spoon , and she would beat that cake batter until it was so smooth and creamy, it was unbelivable, she had a rhythm that would put you to sleep, lol. She was one of those sit dwn cooks on her little stool and would put the big bowl on her lap and go to town mixing up that batter! Her cakes came out so moist, OMG!! I truly miss her and I find myself cooking my cakes like her even though I have a mixer, lol. That's 'ol school' cooking' at it's best. I'm going to make this cake for my mom's birthday, never had 7up cake! Thanks for the tutorial, you made it look so simple! Yours look delish! God bless.

Hey, great cake. Looks delicious. And hearing your funny story about how your grandmother makes cakes by hand (without a mixer) and even hearing your mom bought her a hand mixer, and your grandmother still wouldn't use the handheld mixer was like wow I bet she sure know how to make delicious cakes by hand. My grandmother on the other hand, she does make cakes with her handheld mixer. I'm still learning from my grandmother how to make cakes from scratch. But anyways great recipe video.
+Tammy B. (Cooking With Tammy) another funny thing I might want to add, imagine your mom getting your grandmother a stand mixer, would she even use a stand mixer?
Lol...Not Even If U Paid Her Too Lol, She'll Look At It And Say "I'll Rather Give It Away Than To Use It". She Is Totally Old School, She Even Washes By Hand....Lol

Can you please put the ingredient measurements for this recipe
Hi Tammy, how much confection sugar and vanilla extract do you use for the icing? Thank you
Hi Apryl l...1 cup of confect. sugar, my apologies I didn't realize I didn't include the recipe details in the description bar.😀
Thank you very much. You're such a great cook.
Thank u so much Apryl l for the complement and most of all thanks for supporting my channel!!!😃 I really appreciate it.
how much time does it take to cream butter n sugar? and what is the speed you used doing this?
With a 450-watt stand mixer or a handheld mixer set to medium (3-4) speed it takes about four to five minutes.
How much icing sugar?
