AB, that cake is stunning, I really love it, you did such a great job with it! :) I loved your baking tips, like adding the eggs one at a time and showing how it needs to look after :) That is something I miss in written recipes and that is what I also do on my channel. I hope people dont mind the video being little longer because of that as they see exactly what and how they need to do and this allows even a beginner to be successful :) I also loved how you used lemon extract where I used lime to enhance the flavour, wise minds think alike :D Thank you so much again for suggesting this collaboration and for being such a charming sweet person that you are! I love how RUclips and food connects people :) Here is to some more fun and delicious collaborations! :)
That Lil bit stuck because you let it cool in the pan too long. After a while the moisture from the steam doesn't all escape so cake got wet in one spot. However, GREAT JOB!
Ok... I haven't made a cake from scratch in over 20 years.... I'm going to do this one this weekend... Thank you "Elisa" and "Me.. AB". I'll be subscribing to "#InTheKitchenWithElisa" right now
Ab, next time when you make the cake you have to beat the butter until creamy first the gradually add the sugar and beat until not grainy. It's called the creaming method in baking with a rich cake like that. Pastry chef here. Thank you for you channel. I love watching what you cook.
Lol..dude said the cake crust that was stuck to the pan was so good, that he fell out and had to wake back up and finish the video...now that's a cake you want to take to Church!
AB, I made this cake step by step while watching your video and it came out just like yours delicious 😋. My family couldn’t even wait until it cooled off before cutting it. I got 10 of my friends to subscribe to your channel. Keep up the simple recipe babe!!!!! 🙋🏽♀️
Hi AB, I make 7-Up cake every year for Thanksgiving. Thank you for your tip about using cake flour. Now my cakes are lighter. Your icing is the best! My absolute fav!
So AB I upgraded to a Big boy KitchenAid mixer. It makes baking even easier. The way it spins around makes baking a dream. Watching this channel has made me up my kitchen tools game big time! Your channel is truly awesome!
Sir AB: When I saw this recipe I had to lol. I was born and raised in Philly and have been making this cake for over 50 years! It was my mom’s recipe exactly, except she used AP flour. I’ll try it your way....I’m sure it will be great. Thanks for all your hard work!
AB, that cake looks so delicious. Here's a tip: allow the cake to cool in the bundt pan for 12 to 15 minutes. Flip the cake onto a cooling rack to cool. Great job! 👍👏❤
This looks great. I use tbl spoon of lemon extract after the flour and then 3/4 cup 7up last. No lime nor lemon zest. After 15 mins, I turn out cake onto plate and after about an hour put glaze on. I love softassilk, when I can find it. I use unsalted butter 'generously' and flour the bundt pan. Thanks AB, love your patience and explanations .
followed your steps to bake a poundcake yesterday morning for a repast. didn't have 7-up so I just added a 1/4 cup milk at that step, then 1 Tbsp vanilla along w 2Tbsp lemon extract for my flavor....came out perfect and it was a hit! we came home with crumbs...think ill use rum extract next time
There are channels where you see people adding a quarter cup of milk, but that's not true to the original recipe. Besides, I like how it crusts without milk. With milk, it's just a lemon pound cake with 7up.
Got my cake in the oven right now! Thanks for this recipe! My passed a few years ago, and this was one of my favorites that she used to make. It's smelling like home up in here! Making this in her memory! I will let you know how it turns out. I thought I had a bundt pan, but it was actually an angel food cake pan. Sigh! This is what I had on hand, so I'm testing it out. Glad my daughter will be buying a bundt pan for me later today. I have enough ingredients to make another one! Love your channel!
You’re on *Levels* AB. I love this recipe!!! Thank you for an amazing recipe. I am gonna make this dessert to end my family’s Sunday dinner; perfect timing⏰. Side Note: My Big Momma didn’t measure in bowls and all that she just shook or poured til it was enough to her knowledge and guess what, we ate & the food was perfect!!! But go ‘head n be fancy bruh. You’re poppin’!!!! ✌🏽
This brought fond memories of my Dad. He was the cook in my family and I loved when he baked from scratch I used to lick the batter bowl! Just like you said 😂😂 I would have eaten this without the icing too. lol ”get up and finish this vid!!!!!” Going to Lisa's channel 😊
"And I can tell you this cake was good, 'cause what stuck to the bundt pan, I actually ran my finger across it and ate it and almost fell out! I had to get up and tell myself, "Hey finish the video!" LOL Man, I love you! THAT was funny!!!! We eat it with a scoop of vanilla (or whatever flavors are in the frig--everyone has different favorites) and an ice cold glass of 7-Up!!! YUMMY!!!
One of my favorite cakes! I love the way you kept it old school with the glaze. You have to try Baker's Joy cooking spray. Flour is already added into the spray so the cake comes out clean every time! Learned that from my grandmother.
Oh no! I always shake the can well and spray the pan like crazy. Things happen with cooking though and for some reason those always end up being the best cakes.
That cake looks like a winner, winner, chicken dinner! I will definitely check out your collaboration with Elisa. I remember when I was a kid and my Mom made cakes and cookies, too. If I was good, she let me lick the beaters when she was done. If I was REALLY good, she would turn off the mixer first. Good times! 😂🤣
Great work, AB! Nice collaboration, always keeping everything genuine and authentic! I love 7up cake and will learn how to put together a nice 7up cake, worth talking about. Thank you, for sharing your knowledge of expertise and wisdom, showcasing your skills, much respect! I will check out your friend from Germany, because I feel it is good to be grounded with learning from cooks, bakers, etc, from around the world. Peace and blessings!🙏🏽✌🏽🔥💯
Sweet mother mercy this cake is 🔥🔥 Love the idea of 7up, that mixture alone was teaser to the magnificence that graced our screens. Old school is how we roll, man. 🙆♀️👏 I paused as you lifted out that slice to see the money shot. Fluffy and light. AB you champion.. this is how to woo women in cake form.💜💖💜
Lol and Thank you Mona. I just seen you over on Ric's Death by Chocolate Cake video. Wow that looked amazing didn't it? Thank you as always for the love and support. 😉😁😋😊
@@SmokinandGrillinwithAB You and Ric, and Queen Booger (souffle cake in an Airfryer!) are feeding us cakegoodness excellence, no doubt about it. Blessed. 🙏 Have a great weekend too AB. 💜💜🎂
