As always, Don Knotts steals every scene he's in.

Watched this with my dad when I was little, it's still funny as hell.
I was one of those picky kids who didn't like most movies, but this? This is an excellent film

One of those rare movies you can watch repeatedly and it never gets old and is just as funny. For me, this is right up there with Spinal Tap and Monty Python’s Holy Grail where every scene is my favorite

Fun Fact: This is the first time Andy and Don acted together, Andy met Don during filming

I watched this again and paid attention to the NCO’s argument while Andy was twisting the ring. The dialogue was hilarious.

    Magic duo.
Love how he cinches the pipe almost radial flush with the other pipe. Sort of noticeable, (but nah) he figured it out. $16!
Interestingly enough after filming concluded Knotts and Griffith did not see each other for 2 years until casting was underway for Andy Griffith.

Kind of funny that this movie was the catalyst for not only Andy and Don getting back together for the Andy Griffith Show.
But Andy's character was also the catalyst to creating...Gomer Pyle.

Knott's character in this scene, even though a lower rank, was in charge of the testing and I think had reason to object to the Sgt's interfering. Hollywood, though. In real life, more courtesy should be extended, of course.
