Watched this with my dad when I was little, it's still funny as hell. I was one of those picky kids who didn't like most movies, but this? This is an excellent film
One of those rare movies you can watch repeatedly and it never gets old and is just as funny. For me, this is right up there with Spinal Tap and Monty Python’s Holy Grail where every scene is my favorite
Magic duo. Love how he cinches the pipe almost radial flush with the other pipe. Sort of noticeable, (but nah) he figured it out. $16! Interestingly enough after filming concluded Knotts and Griffith did not see each other for 2 years until casting was underway for Andy Griffith.
Kind of funny that this movie was the catalyst for not only Andy and Don getting back together for the Andy Griffith Show. But Andy's character was also the catalyst to creating...Gomer Pyle.
I wonder just *how many* American citizens realize just *how freaking EASY* it is to put to over-sized key rings together?!?!?!?! I mean....... *rrREALLY?!* I just tried the same "Manual Dexterity Test" of my own and I put mine together in *ONE SECOND FLAT!!!!!!!* Heck.......and I've only got a mental I.Q. of *115* ~~~~~~~
I Think This Was The Only Part I Liked About This Movie. Sorry. Love Andy Griffith And Don Knotts! I Felt Kinda Bad For Don Knotts At The End He Sounded So Sad (He Did It Completely Wrong). Funny But Sad!!... Well Maybe I Should Watch It Again.
suzycreamcheesez. hey its a comedy ok not a documentary. a very good friend of mine who was in Vietnam 2 years said it was his and many other guys he served with favorite... mainly because it gave them a chance to laugh.
Knott's character in this scene, even though a lower rank, was in charge of the testing and I think had reason to object to the Sgt's interfering. Hollywood, though. In real life, more courtesy should be extended, of course.
As always, Don Knotts steals every scene he's in.
YUP! Brilliant!

Fun Fact: This is the first time Andy and Don acted together, Andy met Don during filming
As a 21 year old Gen Z, I'm so glad i grew up on this.
I watched this again and paid attention to the NCO’s argument while Andy was twisting the ring. The dialogue was hilarious.
He put em together didn't he! LOL
That's my favorite part of the whole scene! I love Sergeant King!😅
Magic duo.

Ol' Sgt. King is one of my all time movie heroes! 8-)

SHAZAM!
Pure genius at work here.👌
Love this scene.
Don Knotts using his best Don Adams voice! 😝
After this sergeant was discharged he started hustling in pool halls.
One of my favorite scenes thanks for uploading
Ah, the old Kobayashi Maru. Kirk was channeling Will Stockdale/Andy Griffith.
This movie was great and classic. Good clean comedy and fit for anyone to watch.
I have this movie and i laugh every time, love it.
I know this is one of those films that the laughs just never go away
Thank you, that was wonderful.
Classic movie
three legends
This scene always reminds me of Will Smith moving that table in Men in Black lol.
👍👍👍👍👍Even my Dad laughed at this one.
That scene never gets old.
It was actually the foundation of Andy and Barney the Andy Griffith show,
Such a great movie
The same Barney Fife.
Insisting that everything be done "by the book"😉
*I’ve only seen the movie once through and I’ll never forget that those rings cost $16!*
Wonderful videoclip !
One of the funniest movies ever made
I've seen this movie but somehow I never realized that Barney Fife was in it. How very odd!
$16 dollars they cost....If you think I'm gonna pay $16 dollars.....$16 lousy dollars.............LMAO!
Now I know who Urkel’s inspiration was 😂
The inspiration for Gomer Pyle USMC and Sgt. Carter.
Don Knotts at his best
Only true friends like Andy and Don could yell at each other.
That is how Andy Griffith and Don Knotts ment each other. I thought that Don's part in that movie was very short. It was still a funny movie.
It was Don knotts first starring role before getting cast on the Andy Griffith Show
I think they meant during the stage performance, before the movie was made.
@@daveborn1971 That is true. Don knew that he wasn't going to have much of an appearance in that movie. He was still funny in that movie.
Didn't remember them together in this, Lol!
He put em together didn't he?
Gawwww-leee!
I sure miss Don Knotts
Do yourselves a favor and get and watch this movie. God it is funny
I wonder how corporal Knotts changed his voice to so high pitch...
😯🎈🎈🎈😯
He put "em together didn't he?
Barney is actually an Airman 2nd, not a Corporal....tho in the early stage of the Army/Air Force they may have been using the Army ranks
There are no corporals in the Air Force. Knotts is an A1C (Airman First Class).
Not sure but I believe in the immediate post WW2 era the AF did hold on to some of the old Army ranks for a time.
Still hilarious after all these years😅🤣😂
HERE COMES BARNEY FIFE!
I wonder just *how many* American citizens realize just *how freaking EASY* it is to put to over-sized key rings together?!?!?!?! It is simple, if you think about it; they're just 2 circular curves to connect.
Exactly!
Who's gonna pay for these $16 they cost!!!! LOL XD
Some $200 dollars or more in today's devalued money.
I'll pay the 16 lousy dollars.
now, read Chuck Yeager for the hero....
Darkshad
What year was this
hilarious
andy and barney wre law men in the town of mayberry.
randy steele oh really, i bet that was a good show.
Yes, this was before that. They met in the military and went on to be law men in Mayberry.
Only a child couldn’t do that test in 3 seconds much less 2 minutes 😂
True, true.
This movie a hoot for anyone who served in the military!
did it wrong . . . case closed
a corporal yelling at a sergeat?? a sergeant apologizing to a corporal? I dont think so!
