@EarlofLemongrab. appreciate it and congrats on the car! here or IG works but the berk set up is super nice across the board. definitely the preferred route as far as exhausts go for our little 1ers. might plan an OC meet at some point so stay tuned for that 🤙🏼

@@Japplesnap DCT is great but manual would definitely be more fun now that this car is no longer my daily. Definitely something i have on my radar for the future of the car… maybe in conjunction with some engine stuff 😉 let’s just say there’s an N55 builder i’m a f4n of 😛👀
Very nice. Now that i've tasted american v8s i don't know if i can enjoy anything as much, but i'd still like to drive that. Looks nice in that color, perfect noise, body parts etc... nothing too crazy, i like that.
Love that there’s so much variety when it comes to engines and their sound and feel. N55 straight 6 is nicely balanced which i love. kept things simple and clean as much as i could. sometimes less is more!
@thewiseguy3529 totally fair - dailying an i4 now since my 1er has become a bit too harsh for daily driving… definitely nice to have something smooth and comfy for a change.
@@apexpxl yes and the sport models bleed you dry if you don’t have deep pockets or aren’t a mechanic yourself. Even if you are a mechanic, OEM parts can be very expensive
thank you - it’s a 10+ year old car at this point so assume something will break… once you’ve fixed all the main issues, you should be fine. regular maintenance / care should go without saying but are essential for any car. i’d personally take a N54/55 car over everything else any day of the week but i know there’s a good community behind the 120d
Had my eye on a M240i some time ago, never committed and ended up leaving for Korea from out of the US, needless to say I didn't need it, but I still want one haha, maybe soon
always an opportunity to get into something fun down the line. so long as you work the numbers right, it’s not always too expensive either depending on how long you plan on keeping the car, mileage, etc.
And then there are M cars like the E39 M5, E46 M3 or Z3M. Those surpass every BMW, stock or tuned, because they’re so refined. That’s a whole different drive.
e39 definitely has a specific feel to it - need to get behind the wheel of a stock e46. every car has slightly unique characteristics but i will say, i prefer the older stuff compared to cars coming out these days. more often than not, they feel disconnected and overly electronic
honestly, the best thing for simple GoPro audio are these foam covers that help cut wind noise. I also use the DJI Mic 2 kit but didn’t run them for these clips… also helps to have a loud car 😅 amzn.to/3AobEQ7
@patrickbateman7122 certainly more analog. 2012 is still fairly analog (especially by todays standards) and i find ive got enough tech to cover the basics (and keep me safe) wild not having too much to get in the way of enjoying the car on a nice road.
Agreed - had my eye on some Clubsport CSs for the longest time but no overly motivated to fork out $4k on seats so we’re taking our time with that one 😅 Currently have as much meat as an F87 M2 ships with from factory. Along with all the suspension work i have done, she sticks pretty good ;)
Very nice build, but I wouldn't be raving about making good financial decisions and then proceed to show off a car with one of BMW's biggest moneypit engines 😅(yes the N55 is better than the N54 but this was the first gen N55 which is just as bad)
hate to jinx myself but my experience has been quite the contrary. aside from a water pump failure and a bad injector, i’ve been fortunate to have very few issues in my 3 years of ownership. no engine is completely bullet proof but with regular maintenance and addressing problems when they come up, you can save yourself some headache down the road
good shout - maybe i monitor with MHD to see what pressures look like with some very moderate sliding at first and see? Might have to look into this if i take to it more often.

@ohmracing might have to agree with you there. they certainly hold value better than their Non-M counterparts. Would also add that they’re performance bargains for money! $60k in an M2 will offer way more fun than some other german options 😅
