It doesn't slap you in the face, but it is long-lasting and the sillage is noticeable. I like the fact that it's not too sweet. It just leans sweet in a subtile, vanilla way. It's one of my favorites from Montale.

It had been awhile since I've worn it, so after his reaction I went and put 3 sprays directly on my forearm and I agree with his assessment, it's not a BIG frag. Maybe formulations from 8-10 years ago were bigger, but not mine (from 3 yrs ago).

I have had the same reactions to Montale fragrances. I expected them to be beast mode based on all the reviews, but they turned out to be quite subdued. Black Aoud was the best example of this.

Xerjoff Erba Pura and Kirke project for like 5 h and they Last over 12 h. From Montale/Mancera Ristretto Intense Cafe, Instant Crush, Oudmazing, but the strongest fragrance that I've ever tested is Black Prestigium- Mancera.

That first batch was up there with Habdan Tygar Grand soir Oceania Elysium Carlise 540 extrait Surgi D&G royal night Guerlain lhomme ideal cologne,EDT or EDP YSL Tuxedo I had Arabians tonka up that high and I CANT STAND MONTALE, I think it’s because the cans they use but with this one in particular it didn’t even matter.
weird that you found it not strong enough... in my experience that fragrance is a crazy monster... one spray and you can't smell anything in the room except for that. I wouldn't want it stronger than it already is , people might pass out :))
Dark inky, rose, musky, ambroxan,powdery smell exactly like club de nuit sillage, test both side by side you will notice the similarities, the mid to dry down of Arabian tonka is exactly quite similar
Montales are way too strong for my taste... however, i kind of get why people like them... really bold... I think one of the better montals I've smelled were Oudamazing and soleil de capri. If you get a chance, please review Oudamazing =D. i own soleil de capri, but wanted to hear your review on the other.

I get what you're saying about how you could barely smell it on your skin. The big problem for me was that it did not last very long at all, definitely not worth the price in my opinion. And the scent wasn't really very enjoyable for the short time it lasted. Kind of boring.
This is one of my beast mode fragrances... 2 sprays and it fills up a room, with great projection and sillage. The perfect perfume in my opinion. I really can't understand... maybe it needs maceration.

Does anyone know what perfume or cologne smells more like the dry down of Arabians tonka. After the dry down of Arabians tonka you just get this amazing dark rose scent. The opening may be a little to sweet the dry down is the best!
I don’t agree with this review, this lasts all day, and if my wife wears it , I can smell the sillage drifting downstairs as she walks around the house, it is strong but not obnoxious, and my wife wears this and is complimented constantly
He does a sniff, mentions bergamot and oakmoss. I go too look up for official notes and indeed, there are bergamot and oakmoss notes inside 😂 This guy has a sense of smell like a dog 😮 Pro perfumer is pro!

Try Swiss Arabian Nawaf. One of the best 'Oud' / saffron, incense /churchy frags out there & at a very affordable price too. A true hidden gem.
I’m more familiar with Mancera fragrances which Is a sister company . Great review Aaron this is my style of perfumery.

Ethyl maltol wasn't whipping through the base enough for it to be a 10/10 banger
