The announcement of the Empire is just the last step. All Sith worked on destroying the Republic and the Jedi. Plagueis and Palpatine were no different. The fact alone Palpatine was elected Supreme Chancellor proves how influential the Sith had already been, even before they were offcially in charge. After his election, he had ten years to prepare the Republic for the transition. The Clone Wars were only the last phase. By the time Palpatine announced the New Order, the Republic had already ceased to exist.
Question that I've been wondering about. Did Palpatine NEED the Republic to destroy the Confederation, or would he have been just as happy with the Confederacy winning? I mean, he was in charge of both. He would have ruled the galaxy either way, right?
You know, the Empire should have used Venators. They have way larger hangars that can hold all of those TIE fighters, and even though they are slower than the ISDs, they don't really need to be that fast, considering that rebels mostly use cargo ships and transports. Also, the Venators had two bridges, providing a way better view of the battle, which is what the Empire really needed. Remember when Piett couldn't see the tiny A wing heading toward the bridge? If one of the bridges got destroyed, the other one could still function.
Dual bridge doesn't usually mean separate systems - to do what you are suggesting you'd need to duplicate and separate the backplanes for each bridge because a destroyed bridge inc electronics would be throwing shorts and undervolts into the systems and probably cooking them. This is expensive (and is why meatspace battleships often had either limited or no auxiliary electronic systems). And yes, an A Wing is quite small, but add a dose of inertia and lots of nice vulnerable electronics... Even an auxiliary bridge would need duplicate systems in that situation.
Video Idea: Who's the wealthiest in the Galaxy? Everyone talks about how much they need to pay, but who could really pay the most? If there's a video already, post the link please!
Oddly enough, I doubt the transition from Imperial rule to New Republic rule would go over as well. The sudden instability would shake a lot of things up such as currency as seen in the Mandalorian where the Credit is devalued and Mando would prefer something like Mom Calamari Flan. The galaxy was probably a breeding ground for all kinds of chaos and who knew if this "New Republic" could be trusted, let alone had the resources to adequately manage the galaxy that fell into their lap.
Another way to differentiate between the Imperial Army and the Stormtrooper Corps is the see the parallel between German Wehrmacht in WWII and the Waffen SS, respectively.
Do someone know where separatist's frigates have hangars? We can see hangar bay in s2 on cad bane's ship during these episodes about jedi kids and holocron, and i think that general grievous should have place to land his fighter somewhere but idk
There hangers were located along the sides of the ship. Republic cruisers did as well but less side ones since their ships had that large central main hanger
@Darth Sidious Fair, well one example I can think of is the genocide of the sith. Or sterilizing the planet Desevro, Xenocide of the Ubese, secret prison camp on Belsavis, Pius Dea Crusades, Anti-Sith bill (which was used as an excuse for the new sith war), Mandalorian Excision. I admit some I didn't know about until now.
I have to disagree. Yes, Outer Rim worlds paid taxes and got nothing in return and the megacorporations taking over worlds did so after the Senate gave them permission, but I’m of the opinion the Republic only truly became the Empire during the last year of the Clone Wars. The two factions have dark similarities, but that isn’t the same as being practically alike.
@@Mate397 The Old Republic war crimes and Clone Wars war crimes? If war crimes were only a thing totalitarians did, than the Rebels shouldn’t be allowed to run the galaxy. No faction would. Every faction has people who commit war crimes. The Republic at least punished a number of war criminals in its ranks, though of course we know those with friends in high places like Tarkin and Anakin avoided too much scrutiny. Still, the Empire is one of the few factions who made war crimes a policy. Even with the Separatists, it’s more of who has a close or special relationship with Dooku and the Separatist Council. No so much as war crimes are policy as Dooku keeping a loose leash sometimes and needing some atrocities committed at others.
Most of the channels on "Star Wars" dwell on same topics in most cases. Another similarity I found while going through these, whenever they make a video on a certain topic, they provide unnecessary background info too much that become irritating to watch sometimes.
So basically scout troopers are like the national guard or border patrol You're part of the military but not necessarily as skilled as the other branches. Above local police forces but still somewhat below the normal military
if i may, on the topic of ewok steak, the general size and shape of the ewok wouldn't make for a good "steak" as we think of it (ie. from a cow).. now ewok roast, or ribs, probably a far better idea!
If you think about it, all the stuff we see in the movies is entirely unknown to 95% of the galaxy. Hell, most people probably don't even know about the Inquisitors, much less Darth Vader. If they do, the extent of their knowledge is probably "they're guys in black who do secret government stuff". I really liked Andor because it helped to show just how little the average Joe knew about galactic events.
TIEs are faster, cheaper, more maneuverable, and more terrifying. Their weapons systems may have been inferior (for the standard TIE model: TIE Interceptors were better than V-Wings and TIE Bombers were better than ARCs), but with the numbers they were deployed in, they could do everything a V-Wing could, and Star Destroyers had more firepower than they knew what to do with. As for Venators, they had far less offensive firepower and were much less durable than Star Destroyers, which were also far more terrifying figures due to their size. They were better carriers, sure, but Star Destroyers were good enough, and with their other advantages and the Imperial emphasis on firepower over just about everything else, good enough was indeed good enough.
Ok, I Noticed that blaster shots won’t hurt Beskar Steel but, will ricochet off the walls of New Republic jail cells and inside the Empire’s trash compactors. Seams to me a trash can of the Empire’s could make a pretty good set of armor. What’s so special about Beskar besides it’s expensive?
Weight. It would be impractical to use Duracrete/Thick Durasteel in combat due to how much material you would need to wear to have blaster bolts bounce off slowing you down if not leaving you unable to move, not to mention on the off chance that you end up fighting a Jedi they can melt through your armor and some hand held blasters can still get through(the DC-15 A Rifle and the Westar 32 hand canon come to mind) while you need some type of turret or an explosive to get past Beskar if it’s of good quality and thick enough to resemble standard Clone/Stormtrooper armor(aka Mando, Gar Saxon[TCW] and a few others kits with the Fett set and most Death Watch derivative Mandalorians having armor able to be pierced or dented by stronger blasters or Lightsabers at the right angle[ie:every time a Mando shot another one with a Westar, the Boba vs Cad Bane duel, and how Ashoka cut through some Death Watch members in an episode of TCW]). Light Durasteel armor would offer similar protection to a weaker set of Beskar as seen in Legends, however at a cost in long term use(Bo Katan’s armor has existed as an armor set for at least 500 years with only relatively minor non cosmetic and technical changes while Boba had to occasionally make repairs in Legends and Din’s chest plate didn’t survive a blow even a weak Beskar set could take from that mudhorn in the second episode of the Mandalorian).
That thumbnail of the Clone trooper and storm trooper,, where did you get that? it looks amazing, i want that as my desktop background, but i cant find it :C
The Venetor ships are beautiful. If they didn't have that stupid bridge they would be amazing. Make the brdige like the Stargate Destiny Ship. Give the ship more hangars and make it bigger. Wait, I knew Ti Fighters from Sienar become the first choice in starfighters production after rebels stole the prototypes from Xwing, so I guess later after Clone Wars end, during the first years of government before rebels became more organized, I guess.
This is just a random question but is the coruscaunt guard the only legion with multiple clone commanders because if I recall correctly they have 5 commanders those being Fox,Thorn🎚️,Thire, Stone and Hound........ also why did they have so many commanders???!!!! As far as I know their the only legion to have more than one commander let alone 5!!!!!
Most Imperial crafts make no sense while Republican ones do. How on earth is an AT-AT in anyway an improvement to anything? It shoots in only one direction. Original trilogy Imperial stuff were just Lucas giving us symbols of evil. Nothing about the Imperial designs make in-universe sense while some Republic stuff kind of do.
The AT-AT had much more powerful weaponry than the AT-TE, and far more space for transporting troops. It also had much better armor, to the point where Rebel weapons couldn't even scratch them until they hit a part that wasn't armored.
I guess that Explains why the Empire's Storm-Troopers have such terrible Aim, they're not as well trained as the Republic's Clone-Troopers. Edit: Since the Clones were started to Declined, the Empire basically just started recruiting random people in the Streets to become Storm-Troopers, what a Shocker.
So in the end the imperial stuff was already there during thé clone wars but mostly held back by uncle Palpat... Must have absorbed the forbidden tech from the CIS side as well. Though I still fail to see how the tie fighters are better compared to v wing or even arc 170. Faster than the latter maybe and though you explain well they are not supposed to be used in wars but peace keeping operations against poorly armed rebels, I doubt the efficiency and cost effectivness of switching all those models for tie fighters was worth it in the end.
I have to strongly disagree with the comment about TIEs being better than Republic era craft, especially given the existence of the Z95 and the V-Wing, the only real advntage they had was numbers, because they were so cheap
Can someone explain how Luke doesn’t hold the Dark Saber? because like according to events, sidious beats maul, so he’s the dark saber holder, and then vader beats sidious, but Luke technically kills vader because he takes off the helmet that kills him, so Luke should be like king of kandalorians right
But Vader didn't beat Palpatine. He survived. Besides, do you really think that Luke would have gone up to some Mandalorian and said "Hey, I killed my father, who killed the emperor, who beat up that one guy who took over your planet a while back, so technically that's mine and I'm going to give up being Grandmaster of the Jedi Order to rule over a bunch of warriors."? I don't. It would have made for a much better Episode IX, though. Luke with full Beskar armor, duel-wielding the Darksaber and his green lightsaber as he beats up anyone trying to get him to rejoin the wider galaxy and oppose the First Order, then eventually being convinced and leading an army of Mandalorians against the Sith Eternal...
Just want to point out that tie bombers are way more clunky and slow then the Y wing and ISD's are also big slow and clunky So its very much in imperial taste to have big and clunky stuff its just the ARC170 and Y wing didn't fit with the esthetic of the Imperial navy and they were too expensive compared to the standard tie and they wanted their military to seem endless by having a bunch of stuff that looks the same or similar as a fear tactic.

However tragic the Jedi purge was, the Clones did get a lot done..."Respect for Clones!"
The bad batch shows this beautifully
The announcement of the Empire is just the last step. All Sith worked on destroying the Republic and the Jedi. Plagueis and Palpatine were no different. The fact alone Palpatine was elected Supreme Chancellor proves how influential the Sith had already been, even before they were offcially in charge. After his election, he had ten years to prepare the Republic for the transition. The Clone Wars were only the last phase. By the time Palpatine announced the New Order, the Republic had already ceased to exist.
Excellent video as usual, Lord Geetsly.
Your voice is so smooth while I got the deepest raspy voice ever I sound like cross hair 😭
It's the Aussie accent!
Stop complaining about a good trait.
Question that I've been wondering about. Did Palpatine NEED the Republic to destroy the Confederation, or would he have been just as happy with the Confederacy winning? I mean, he was in charge of both. He would have ruled the galaxy either way, right?
The umbara arc from the clone wars really shows how the republic was slowly becoming the empire.
Using ISD wasn't so much about actual tactical ability - more about the size and image - the fears the thing.

Video Idea: Who's the wealthiest in the Galaxy? Everyone talks about how much they need to pay, but who could really pay the most? If there's a video already, post the link please!
The Republic will be reorganized...into the first... *Galactic* ...EMPIRE!
I'd actually love the video about the other aspects of the transition that you mentioned in your intro. Please make those videos!
Easy answer
The republic and the empire werent all that different, main difference was that the republic had jedi and empire didnt
“I AM THE SENATE” said palpatine. That’s how it happened lol 😂
Because good soldiers follow orders
Funny that the Aquarius Class Frigate/Light Cruiser served through the entire Clone Wars and into Imperial Remnant times
A lot of it was external mounting
Let's not forget that even before Palpatine, the Republic wasn't too different from the Empire.
@Darth Sidious Think way back in the old republic times
@@tristankawatsuma8962 And the genocides? I listed a few things in another reply in this thread.
Which do you prefer AT-TE or AT-AT
MT-AT master race
That AT-XT looks sick!
Why are there thirty different videos about this subject in every star wars lore channel
You deserve more subscribers! You make these really well
Officially, there never was a clone rebellion on Kamino.
My boys in teh Courscant guard helped alot
Governments don’t change over night.
if i may, on the topic of ewok steak, the general size and shape of the ewok wouldn't make for a good "steak" as we think of it (ie. from a cow).. now ewok roast, or ribs, probably a far better idea!
Thumbnail art source? It's freaking awesome
Them raycon headphones are still close to 80 USD
If you think about it, all the stuff we see in the movies is entirely unknown to 95% of the galaxy. Hell, most people probably don't even know about the Inquisitors, much less Darth Vader. If they do, the extent of their knowledge is probably "they're guys in black who do secret government stuff". I really liked Andor because it helped to show just how little the average Joe knew about galactic events.
I can never get enough Geetsly's
Interesting explanation
*"Thank you!"* 👍🏼
Everybody gangsta till I'm listening to people talk about raycons whilst wearing raycons

Venators? Obsolete? What balderdash?!
And how the heck are TIEs superior to the ARCs and V-Wings?!
you just don't want to hear the truth
The galaxy deserved the Empire.
could you do a video on the infantry weapons of the imperial stormtrooper corps and army?
GEETSLY'S WHAT!? ANSWER THE QUESTION WHAT IS GEETSLY'S???????????
Uploaded 12 mins ago, nice
6 legs > 4 legs "how does it not fall over?! "
Good soldiers follow orders.
Does better armor matter when the helmet visabity suffered so heavily with the new models?
That thumbnail of the Clone trooper and storm trooper,, where did you get that? it looks amazing, i want that as my desktop background, but i cant find it :C
The Republic ceased to be a republic before palpatine
It became a oligarchy in essentially
Where can I find the art for this thumbnail? It’s so cool!
stormtrooper's aren't really weak it's just the plot armor of rebels
The Venetor ships are beautiful.
If they didn't have that stupid bridge they would be amazing.
Make the brdige like the Stargate Destiny Ship.
Give the ship more hangars and make it bigger. More fighters and a slick but bulky design and oyu have the best possible ship you might ever want.
Damn I wish I could design a ship.. if it wasnt for my horrible mistrained hands.. I can't draw anything... I'm lefthanded but was forced to learn right-handed during elementary school which killed any and all chance to ever have something like good writing or drawing skills :(
Wait, I knew Ti Fighters from Sienar become the first choice in starfighters production after rebels stole the prototypes from Xwing, so I guess later after Clone Wars end, during the first years of government before rebels became more organized, I guess.
How does one get all this information?
The GAR is still more aesthetic. Change my mind.
Can you make a video about mouse droidsI think it would be interesting
Bruh 36 minutes ago this video was posted
Yup.
Just want to point out that tie bombers are way more clunky and slow then the Y wing and ISD's are also big slow and clunky
So its very much in imperial taste to have big and clunky stuff its just the ARC170 and Y wing didn't fit with the esthetic of the Imperial navy and they were too expensive compared to the standard tie and they wanted their military to seem endless by having a bunch of stuff that looks the same or similar as a fear tactic.
This is Canon for me!
Seems like a lot more gear was a downgrade then an upgrade
