When i was a kid I used up all my ammo to get into the factory in the first place. I only had my pistol and a couple of flashbangs so useless against droids. Then the level starts with a factory full of them.
@@Felix-ru7qj honestly beat that level with only dying once when I just recently played through, I remembered to not throw an EMP and just aim for the face-plate
I remember me playing Republic Comando, my whole Squad down,me wasting all grenades on B1s and three B2s advancing towards me while I only had a pistol. But in the end I somehow won!
I remember those things in Republic Commando. My weapon of choice was to use the grenade launcher DC-17 attachment or the EMP grenades. I also hated their spawners. Those things were not fun to handle at all.
And to add insult to injury, your own teammates were more dangerous than the droids popping out of it. Because if you put someone on sniper duty to watch your back, that idiot would pointlessly try to snipe the dispenser, shooting exactly where you stand while placing the charge. Friendly fire, you frigging failed batch!
@@zaniatnik 1. Not pointless. You can destroy droid dispensers with enough small arms. 2. They did not shoot at it if you were placing a charge. There may have been a droid that moved behind you and they missed, hitting you. I play through the game on PC fairly often, every 6 months or so. I know.
@@Aqueox While I won’t argue with 1, I completely disagree about 2. The whole point is that even when there wasn’t any active droids yet, I was taking sniper rifle shots in the back. And even before that, when I assigned them to sniper posts to cover me, the first thing they shot at was the dispenser. Regardless of whether I am in the way or not. Unlike the AI squadmates, I’m not frigging blind, so I could see both incidents with my own eyes. And friendly fire happens because surprise-surprise, the charge attachment spot is exactly the one where the AI aims with this thing when there are no actual droids to shoot. Lastly, it doesn’t even have to be me planting the charge, the bots are more than happy to shoot each other as well.
The bridge section. Only had ammo for my Regular attachment and my pistol. Scorch and Sev are down. Fixer is on orange health. Both turrets are up. There is no end to the B2s. That is the worst experience I have ever had in a video game.
Super battle droids were freakin terrifying in Republic Commandos. I think when you run into them on the Ghost ship has to be one of the scariest things in any video game. The dread of walking without your squad knowing one was around the corner was nightmare fuel.
@Josh Robson true again, but I'm referring to before order 66 in the clone wars. If any it was without plot armor so many more jedi would have died being to infront of too much blaster fire.
"The B2 was underplayed in the Clone Wars" Yes the Jedi made them seem less lethal but every time we see the Clones fight them without a Jedi present (during Ventress's reacue of Gunray in season 1 for example), they always suffered heavy casualties.
Yeah I agree the B2 battle droid remember in the clone wars move when the clone ran out of shot and went up to the droid and hit it then got picked up and shot. I can see why
My first experience with a b2 scared the hell outa me as I just started using everything I had including grenades which just helped in activating more of the till I ran out of ammo on all my gun and was stuck with the pistol one b2 is tolerable but but once multiple were in an area and you didn’t have emp grenades and don’t forget about those things that constantly made more b2s!!!
@jack patton Furthermore, two of your squadmates are already down, your health is in the red, and you've burned most of your DC-17a ammo on geonoshans.
was definelty having flashbacks to my first time encountering super battle droids in republic commando. Honestly, they are the hardest thing to fight in that entire game. Only matched by the trandoshian heavy gunner
In Republic Commando, they are monsters! But TCW, Clone Wars 2003 and the Movies, they seem to easily be taken down by a few shots. I don’t know if the Writers of the Clone Wars did their research on B2-Super Battle Droid or they were unaware of that fact.
Mace Windu: Somehow punching through solid metal and not caring that he’s surrounded by droids that could have easily turned him into a well done steak
The amount of times I used the "Eliminate Target" command in Republic Commando... I HATED Supers so much. At one point, I just switched to the anti-armor grenade launcher whenever I saw one.
That's why they give you the anti armor thing honestly, they give you plenty of ways to deal with them actually. Anti armor, all kinds of detonators except flashbang, sniper rifle, concussion rifle, ocassional turrets, geonosian beam weapons, hell even dancing around them hacking away with the vibroblade works. Oh and you can command your team to snipe or go anti armor or just focus fire them.
They did a really great job showing how powerful and vicious these droids were in Attack of the Clones. I vividly remember one continuing to fire right into the densly packed group of Jedi despite one of its arms having been blown off and another simply smashed a broken B1 out of the way so it could get a better shot. Even Mace Windu had to retreat when they started blasting away at him, since not even he could deflect that much incoming blaster fire. Imagine a machine gun. Now imagine a machine gun on legs. Now imagine that machine gun walking towards you. Now imagine that walking machine gun being armored against basically everything you can throw at it. Now shit your pants.
In Republic Commando the ultimate SBD Defeat tactic is to mark them to be destroyed by your squadmates and then circle around them with your knife, they will fall very quickly. or if you want you can throw two Droid Poppers at them.
Those of us who’ve played Republic Commando remember our first time alone in the Super Battle Droid racks. One poorly placed shot or grenade would wake up half a dozen of them.
I remember the first time I versed a b2 in Republic Commandos, I thought it would be easy like all the other Star Wars games I had played up till that point. I was wrong, so very, very wrong.
I never realised how terrifying these were, that was., until Delta squad was deployed on geonosis for the first time. Sev had to deal with those... Three sniper shots!?
😨 Republic Commando: The first Super Battle Droid that you faced on Geonosis (just as you link up with Sev) was terrifying. On my first playthrough, I remember having virtually no grenades and having to try and take down that thing with small arms (of course, I didn't think to use the sniper attachment as it was such close range) - despite having three other squad members, the damn thing felt unstoppable, and by the time that you took the first one down, there was another round the corner, except this time you had no grenades... I had no shame in loading a previous level to conserve my ion (blue) grenades for a second attempt. Of course, the game is devious enough to have you walk past racks and racks of them when going through the Lucrehulk command module, one false move and you could activate the lot. You give the B2s respect in Republic Commando.
For some reason, in the Clone Wars show I never noticed how the head looked like a B1 head and was infused with the body. I always thought that was just armor to protect the brain of the droid and the red light was its eye. Of course, in Republic Commando you could break that part and shoot it, and that's probably why I thought it that way.
Just the wrist rockets alone make them vastly superior to a clone in battlefront 2. While a grenade takes time to blow up and needs to be thrown, having both a high power automatic blaster and rockets at the same time makes you quite strong.
Thanks for bringing back my Repubilc Commando days. *shudders* I once ran into 3 of them when I had run out of ammo and grenades. It took me dozens of tries to kill them all and complete the level.
Clone Commandos fighting Supers: *One of the toughest standard enemies in the game* 501st fighting Supers: "Watch Those Wrist Rockets!" Captain Fordo fighting Supers: "So anyway, I started blasting."
Ah, I remember they were BITCH to take down in Republic Commando, lol! I was playing again recently and figure out that besides grenades, anti armor and well placed sniper shots, you can actually melee them to death really quickly, considering how fast melee is and that it actually does considerable damage.

@@Felix-ru7qj You used something other than the pistol most of the time?
@@kabob0077 the level before I used up all my ammo just get into the factory so I was left with the pistol.
@@Felix-ru7qj I know, I just primarily used my pistol throughout the game, even when I had ammo and a secondary...
I remember me playing Republic Comando, my whole Squad down,me wasting all grenades on B1s and three B2s advancing towards me while I only had a pistol.
But in the end I somehow won!
B2’s were so scary because you had to
*_W A T C H T H O S E W R I S T R O C K E T S !_*
Sir Somebody do you happen to be an unggoy merchant? I am searching for a food nipple.
no joke switching to the tri shot as a B2 in Battlefront was so op if you hit the enemies head with it. One shotting everything with that thing.
I can tell from your profile picture that you're a Madness Combat fan, I came here to say I am too.
1:45 YA GOT A GOOD POINT it really take that much to bring down one of those things
I remember those things in Republic Commando. My weapon of choice was to use the grenade launcher DC-17 attachment or the EMP grenades. I also hated their spawners. Those things were not fun to handle at all.
My most vivid memories of that game were the spawners. The only time u used the anti armor rounds was against the B2's,they were terrifying
That moment when me and my commando squad encountered a mobile super battle dispenser...blaster fire...I can still hear the sounds...
How have I never noticed the eyes on their heads. I always thought it was that red circle lol
theres a red circle in side there head
Which is presumably the point
@@maxwaspace5348 you are able to see the red circle in republic comando if you shoot the super battle droids face off

WATCH THOSE WRIST ROCKETS!
Veteran trooper: *skillfully maneuvers around B2 to eliminate it from behind*
Also veteran trooper: "WATCH THOSE WRIST ROCKETS!!"
"Sometimes it takes an entire blaster clip to kill them."
Me: "No,no,no that's not that's not true. IT CANT BE!!!"
Yes I had republic commando flash backs b2’s everywhere no grenades
The bridge section. Only had ammo for my Regular attachment and my pistol. Scorch and Sev are down. Fixer is on orange health. Both turrets are up. There is no end to the B2s. That is the worst experience I have ever had in a video game.
Yeah I hate them B2’s I know how it feels man
Just punch them todeath, i do. It's epic, you're faster and more agile in hand to hand.
Droidika’s:
*Stands there menacingly*
B2 Super Chadle Droids:
*Psychological terror*
I always thought the red dot on their shoulder was their eye, when I found out it wasn't I couldn't look at them the same
I can’t help but hear in my head: “WATCH THOSE RIST ROCKETS!!!!”
I got every medal legendary in that game i played it so much all those quotes will be stuck in my head forever ! "They're sending in the supers!"
Man those things were hard to take down until you got the anti-armor attachment the you just have to be careful not to run out of ammo
LordTeridax 1247 shock grenade spam bruh
Take one down with squad support circle strafe any solo SBD s and melee em to death(praise darksouls for this).
Super battle droids were freakin terrifying in Republic Commandos. I think when you run into them on the Ghost ship has to be one of the scariest things in any video game. The dread of walking without your squad knowing one was around the corner was nightmare fuel.
Last scene was plot armor, once jedi gets tired the droids stop firing, wtf
@Josh Robson true, jedi should of been crushed for being over ambitious
@Josh Robson true again, but I'm referring to before order 66 in the clone wars. If any it was without plot armor so many more jedi would have died being to infront of too much blaster fire.
They have to reload, you know. lol!
you know that Jedi gets killed by those droids like 2 minutes later right?
@@josephs7070 good
"The B2 was underplayed in the Clone Wars"
Yes the Jedi made them seem less lethal but every time we see the Clones fight them without a Jedi present (during Ventress's reacue of Gunray in season 1 for example), they always suffered heavy casualties.
Ay I remember those Clankas. They didn't go down without a fight, I lost a lot of men to them. For the republic!
Bruh
9:25 yes yes I did thank you sooooo much for that ugh those rows and rows of B2s in the command ship
Yeah I agree the B2 battle droid remember in the clone wars move when the clone ran out of shot and went up to the droid and hit it then got picked up and shot. I can see why
there was similar thing where they tried to do it to a B1 and the B1 just shot the clone, didn't waste time picking up the clone
You've bright back my Clone Commando days. Thanks and no thanks, I still remember how infuriating they were. PTSD moment.
I remember reading the action figure 2 pack that came with a comic book and the comic itself shows how scary these underrated droids can be
There's a reason why in the simulation they taught us, "watch those wrist rockets!"
Yeah, these guys and the friggin geonosion flamethrower units were terrifying in republic commando.
The moment you mentioned B2s, the RC PTSD came back...
Apollo Knight the thing is that republic commando isn’t cannon
@@arranroberts1463
Exactly, all of their 'Legends' content that made them look competent isn't canon anymore

I still remember backtracking on Geonosis for the specific reason that Sev’s sniper did work on the B2’s
I just got the mental image of a B2 dancing down the joker stairs
"Registering Noise" that line gives me chills to this day
Want real droids?
Play Republic Commando..
In Republic Commando the ultimate SBD Defeat tactic is to mark them to be destroyed by your squadmates and then circle around them with your knife, they will fall very quickly. or if you want you can throw two Droid Poppers at them.
love the battlefront 2 2005 line "watch those wrist rockets"
Those of us who’ve played Republic Commando remember our first time alone in the Super Battle Droid racks. One poorly placed shot or grenade would wake up half a dozen of them.
*"WaTcH ThOsE WrIsT RoCkEtS!"*
Anyone who's played Republic Commando got a fair depiction of supers.
Shoot them in the face, stun lock them. B2's can either be outflanked or overwhelmed. Break them down.
Can we admire Thire and his amazing aim hitting the red weak point on 2 droids in less than a second?
0:49 Hold up, when did I do that?
That's what I was wondering. _One of America's most infamous outlaws, in the Post Civil War era, an author?_ Interesting....
I fear no man....
But that thing....
B2 super Battle droid
It scares me
Just the wrist rockets alone make them vastly superior to a clone in battlefront 2. While a grenade takes time to blow up and needs to be thrown, having both a high power automatic blaster and rockets at the same time makes you quite strong.
Thanks for bringing back my Repubilc Commando days. *shudders*
I once ran into 3 of them when I had run out of ammo and grenades. It took me dozens of tries to kill them all and complete the level.
Clone Commandos fighting Supers: *One of the toughest standard enemies in the game*

I have Republic Commando flashbacks during any star wars related games/shows/videos. It was one of my all time favorite Action games
B2 droids in clone wars:

The "watch those wrist rockets" line gave me a wave of nostalgia. Thanks for that!

Did you know that even the clones in Battlefront 2 (2017) sometimes say "Watch those wrist rockets!" as well?
Who has heard “Watch those wrist-rockets” before
I remember in republic Commando having to fight o. The clone ship with waves of these hives bringing absolute terror since they were complete bullet sponges
When I was young, I thought the super battle droids from the clone wars were basically the same as the barren droids in the movies
Wait, they're not?! The toys and video games always said they were same.

Does anyone remember the level in Republic commando’s where you fight a lot of B2’s and when you enter the room Boss says: Alone against all these droids.... Hmph... they don’t stand a chance.
That level is the reason i discovered cheat codes for the game.
