Pokemon Johto always had a special place in my heart. When I was just a kid, me and my lil bro used to get really hyped when the opening music starts even though we didn't know english very well back then. I almost cried when the song starts cause it triggered all these beautiful memories with my brother that I know I will never be able to experience again. Even though this is only a kids show, now as an adult I feel like the song (well, actually all old pokemon opening songs) is teaching me that I must never give up on pursuing my dreams, and despite all the hardships that are waiting for me ahead, I must always give my best and never give up hope. It just made me realize that Ash failed so many damn times, but those failures never hold him back because he's determined to be the best pokemon master in the world of pokemon. Also his dream of being a pokemon master doesn't stop him from helping others who are more in need. It was shown in an episode when Ash was on his way to the Indigo League, he decided to help a stranger who's badges were stolen (he prioritized a stranger in need before himself). This show is truly a masterpiece, especially to 90s to early 2000s kids who grew up watching it. I think I'm gonna rewatch the show again from season 1 just for nostalgia's sake

Why is it that pokemon has the best music? Not just theme songs but the movie ending credits and 10 songs which were realeased...misty's song, best friends. All songs are so motivational..

This show has come so far... I almost feel depressed I'm not a kid still, racing down the stairs to watch another new episode of Galactic Battles. I miss Dawn, i miss Brock... But most of all, i miss how excited I felt to watch the anime. It almost makes me cry every time I think back to how new and exciting this all felt when i was a kid... Like a part of me I lost years ago
I believe now that we've come to a new era in pokemon with sword and shield on switch, they should start a new series aimed at kids, but then have an older ash go to kanto and redo all the leagues, winning them meeting his old pokemon and friends and see whats happened to them, then when hes won in kalos him and serena get together fully and thats when his story ends, hes a pokemon master and has settled. then the new series should be a new protagonist, maybe a young girl. then youve got ash from his beginning to the end of his story and then this new one.

One of the reasons I really wish the Alola Anime followed the games more closely. No trainer school, Instead Ash's Mom buys a Summer home in Alola, and then more or less following the games' plot.

Imagine this. Ash is in the Finals of the last League and the last show he’s ever gonna participate in. He’s facing the champion, and the first Pokémon Theme begins to play while Ash nears the win while Misty and Brock watch from the sidelines to cheer him on.
I feel like the current region will be his last. Because of how they’re incorporating each region into it. And how their are different ranks in the league. He literally is aiming to defeat those at the top of the rank which includes past champions. I can’t wait!!

I am most definitely biased, I spent my preteen years watching that generation of Pokémon. But Ash really upped his game in that one, his team was awesome and he took everything a lot more seriously. And I always wanted to grow up to be like Serena, she was such a role model for me. So moral of the story, Pokémon in general is great 😂

Gotta agree, it's my first pokemon series that I watched, then I somehow moved to watching Unova (idk why they showed Unova, made me thought it was the next gen XD), but I JUST LOVE KALOS, Zygarde is way too cool.

Unbeatable is literally unbeatable and is my favourite. the original theme was awesome as well. Sinnoh league victors was great as well. All of the Black and White ones were awesome. XYZ’s “Stand tall” was brilliant as well

People may argue over which season was the best, but for me listening to all these songs, it makes me miss every region and all the people the series has gone through.
This is literally making me cry. Pokémon was my first Anime without knowing what is anime. I used to watch it in my childhood when my mind was at it's most innocent state and simplicity. I remember that it used to air on channel "Disney XD" at exactly 4:00pm. I used to come home from school at 3:30pm to 3:45pm. and get ready with everything to watch it without any disturbance. It's the songs which kept me tied to the series. My first language is not English but still I used to learn the lyrics of all songs and then the other day me and my friend used to have a sort of a Rap Battle to determine who learnt it and remembers best. That's what made me so fluent in English and made us good friends for the time being. We are still friends but not as we used to be. Whenever I see or hear any of the songs I just feel nostalgic and makes me wanting to go to my childhood days and live those days again. But I know once the time has passed it never comes back. I wish I had the freedom and opportunities I have now had been with me in the past. SAD. 😢

I remember my first time watch diamond and pearl, and GOD DAMN, it was so good, but when I go back and watch it, I know ash ends up beating paul, I know his pokemon, its just not the same
The old themes hit differently. Takes me back to the N64 and the GameBoy days. I remember waking up watching the older episodes. Things are so different nowadays. I remember only being able to watch the show only during the time slot. I didn’t have any VHS tapes of the show or anything so after it went off that was it which was kinda sad. Nowadays you can binge watch the episodes easily.

Anyone else get emotional once in a while while listening to Pokemon music? Growing up with this stuff. The memories, the friends I've made, the fun I've had, the joy for playing one of these games for the first time, the stories both through the storylines or made by the players and their Pokemon. The amazing community. The random jamming of Pokemon music after Drama class. Pokemon pulling through for me in a rough battle. The pain of a random crit that makes me lose the match. The friendship, tears, and experiences all thanks to Pokemon are some of my favorite memories.
It's a little bit heart breaking that at some point I just don't know these opening themes. That realization I fell out of love with this series smashes my feels even more than remembering the first 11 songs by heart. Thanks for both unlocking my most precious memories and simultaneously reminding me of exactly when I left my childhood behind.

I love that even if you don’t know anything about Pokémon you could still put them in rough generational order bc of how hard they go with the music style of the era
The current generation of teens and young adults think that the world is a hellhole, myself included. We all just want to retreat back to our childhoods, when we were too innocent and naive to know the BS happening right now. Even if I may have been too young to experience the original Pokemon series, I have been watching infrequently since B&W and have played GO since early 2021. Through others' lens, I have understood that Pokemon is a great series, that has formed a generation (along with DOAWK, TV cartoons, surfing the Internet etc.)
This made me cry. All of my childhood memories flooded through my mind as I listened to this. The good moments and the bad. The friends gained and lost. my heart!

It's 2021 and I'm still listening to this
This is literally making me cry. Pokémon was my first Anime without knowing what is anime. I used to watch it in my childhood when my mind was at it's most innocent state and simplicity. I remember that it used to air on channel "Disney XD" at exactly 4:00pm. I used to come home from school at 3:30pm to 3:45pm. and get ready with everything to watch it without any disturbance. It's the songs which kept me tied to the series. My first language is not English but still I used to learn the lyrics of all songs and then the other day me and my friend used to have a sort of a Rap Battle to determine who learnt it and remembers best. That's what made me so fluent in English and made us good friends for the time being. We are still friends but not as we used to be. Whenever I see or hear any of the songs I just feel nostalgic and makes me wanting to go to my childhood days and live those days again. But I know once the time has passed it never comes back. I wish I had the freedom and opportunities I have now had been with me in the past. SAD. 😢

The old themes hit differently. Takes me back to the N64 and the GameBoy days. I remember waking up watching the older episodes. Things are so different nowadays. I remember only being able to watch the show only during the time slot. I didn’t have any VHS tapes of the show or anything so after it went off that was it which was kinda sad. Nowadays you can binge watch the episodes easily.

Anyone else get emotional once in a while while listening to Pokemon music? Growing up with this stuff. The memories, the friends I've made, the fun I've had, the joy for playing one of these games for the first time, the stories both through the storylines or made by the players and their Pokemon. The amazing community. The random jamming of Pokemon music after Drama class. Pokemon pulling through for me in a rough battle. The pain of a random crit that makes me lose the match. The friendship, tears, and experiences all thanks to Pokemon are some of my favorite memories.

I love that even if you don’t know anything about Pokémon you could still put them in rough generational order bc of how hard they go with the music style of the era
The current generation of teens and young adults think that the world is a hellhole, myself included. We all just want to retreat back to our childhoods, when we were too innocent and naive to know the BS happening right now. Even if I may have been too young to experience the original Pokemon series, I have been watching infrequently since B&W and have played GO since early 2021. Through others' lens, I have understood that Pokemon is a great series, that has formed a generation (along with DOAWK, TV cartoons, surfing the Internet etc.)
