So much amazing nostalgia with this game. I can remember after baseball games, going to my friends house and sleepovers consisted of this and WrestleMania 2000. I never had a N64 so I would stay up extra late after everyone was sleep and play Battle Royal for hours. Great memories
Smackdown Shut Your Mouth will always be my favorite of all time. It got me back into wrestling in 2003 after I stopped watching it when WCW died in 2001.
Man. This one. Too many nights spent overnight at my friend's house growing up, where we'd be up until 3 or 4 in the morning playing this. Not just this, but WrestleMania 2000 and No Mercy as well. Because as you mentioned, the three are basically the same game, just reskinned.

I have a good memory of this game. My older brother bought this for me around 22 years ago I think. I was 16. I am pretty sure its the same year I had leg surgery and I was laid up in a cast that was a partial body cast and I was on my back in a hospital type bed that was set up in the living room when I returned home. While I was healing up I played video games, including good memories with this one.
That’s beautiful, man. Video games are always fun and can give you some of the best memories ever, no matter the condition we are in.

Now I remember! Way back in the day, while I was at school we used to have gaming joints in the neighborhood, we paid the equivalent of a couple of bucks to play for an hour N64, (the name of the joint was "Nintendo Power" like the magazine) there me and a friend played Revenge! But my memories are very vague... Thank you Ian for remind me those beautiful times.
Oh btw, my absolute favorite wrestling game is SvR'11.
I would rent WrestleMania 2000 from my local ma and pa video store but WCW vs The NWO Revenge will always be my favorite WCW game for sure! Thank you Ian for an amazing episode!

Royal Rumble on the Genesis. It was the first one I played. I spent, in retrospect, way too many hours on that game as a kid. I played others much longer as I got older, but RR will always be my favourite.

I always loved playing as Raven, DDP, or Some Random wrestler from the other divisions.. Like Jekyll or Maya Inca boy (m.i.b). Some had really bad ass finishers.

Revenge and I have a weird history. It was my best friend in high school favorite game next to perfect dark. I could never beat him once and still to this day im not very good at it. Additionally when I live in Reno Nevada the retro game store there had a challenge where if you could be the owner at it also his favorite game he would give you a mad discount on stuff.
So many memories. My brother and I used to tagteam against the computer. Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit against the computer which was Bischoff and Hogan. We would clean house my dude.
My fav wrestling game is probably SvR 2006 because I LOVE GM mode. I’d say that’s followed by 2K19 and 2K14. The roster in 2K14 makes for a really fun universe mode. The creative depth of 2k19 and the fact we can still download community creations in 2021 is awesome. The CAW in that game can make a solid version of literally anyone. Also the multiple universe mode slots keep things fresh in 2k19. I def wanna know what your fav wrestling games are and why. I know you got all kinds of stories of what makes those games your favs and I got a good feeling you’d make them entertaining.

Played this with my siblings. First wrestling games I had ever played. Didn't know who 90% of these guys were, match dynamics, anything. Managed to get all the way to unlocking Joe Bruiser. Played the crap out of both
I'm gonna say smackdown 2 know your role for the sole reason of when I first got into wrestling I was trying to rent a different game but they didn't have it so I tried that one and an era was born some good memories

My favorite wrestling games at least right now are WWE 13 and Fire Pro Wrestling World. Absolutely love just making dudes and watching them go at it in Fire Pro.

Boy do I have a memory with this game, it almost burnt my house down! About two years ago, I was having a tag match. It was hall and nash vs sting and luger. Out of no where, the frame gets all glitchy for a few seconds. I didn’t think anything of it. But then my crt tv starts to pop and crack, sparks are coming out and it’s smoking! I got away from it real fast. The tv died on that day but I always wonder... who would have won the match?
Dude I started playing wrestling games my 1st was know your role... And from that day my inner shit talker and Commentator side came out

I got this game via Christmas gift for my older brother when got a N64 as well and my brothers and sister each got two games. And WCW/nWo Revenge was one of them along with Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64 & Ocarina of Time. Sting, Raven & Rey Mysterio Jr were my faves in this game

When I was a kid playing Warzone, I made one of my CAWs look like some asshole and jobbed him out. Then I made him look like he was supposed to and had him come back and bury whoever he jobbed to. That was the sort of context and story telling I liked to do back then.

I remember when I was about 10 or 11 me and my cousin played this game for an entire day when he was over for a birthday party. We had so much damn fun, I couldn’t wait for the next party so we could do it again. For some reason that never happened again tho
Although I never got to watch WCW growing up (I was 3 when WCW went out of business), this game made me love DDP, Sting, Ultimo Dragon, Eddie, etc. Like I had grown up watching then. Definitely my favorite wrestling game of all time hands down.

Dude this game was my weekend. My friends and I would gather and play the hell out of this. Of course we were totally rocking the NWO. We would have matches like loser leaves the NWO which we took very seriously 😂.
My fav memory with this game was playing with my bro and cousin in a 4 way dance and the cpu was disco inferno . That mf bled like crazy and kicked our asses lmfao . I got this game for Christmas back in the day. GOOD TIMES ! I'll never forget staying up all night at my great grandma's with my bro and cousins . Rip T and Grandma Ida !♥️

Some of my favorite memories of this game are the temper tantrums my friends would throw because they couldn't beat me. It's not like I was that good, they were just that bad and always tried the same tactics. I miss those days but I do appreciate this little trip down memory lane.

If I remember correctly I think in the title modes the option for quick matches is turned off so I think a match has to go a specific amount of time before you can win
I love grapple moves in the AKI games like Savage's because repeating moves like that last longer when you're opponent is worn down. It feels like you're controlling it. I fired up 2K19 last night and did this like Mexican surfboard stretch thing with Daniel Bryan and the camera changed and it felt like I was just watching it lol What What did you mean at 6:30 when you said "They figured out how to launch into the big elbow finish."
Wrestlers aren't tied to having a special move from the front tie up any more. To hit Randy's special in later games, you had to be on the top rope. No punching combination nonsense.
@@616Entertainment Ah! Yea true. I totally blanked on that. I think the default either top rope elbow or back elbow is modeled after Randy's and you can taunt yourself instead of it being built in. I think Revenge is the first AKI game with top rope finisher's too!

My buddy Corbin, who owned the game, loved Dean Malenko. He went to the bathroom and we faced in to customize him. Anyone into one of our huge rumbles, Corbin gets eliminated and his next character is revealed as a pink speedo Dean with his new name 'Dean Ma Fuckin Lenko'. He was so mad. But to this day Dean is known as Dean Ma Fuckin Lenko haha. I love this game

Playing as Goldberg, DDP, seeing Sting lowered from the rafters. Bash at the Beach and Superbrawl were my favorite arenas. Loved hitting people with Stop Signs too...lolz

I used to play this game all the time with my cousins during the summers when I was off school and my aunt would babysit me, so much fucking fun, loved this game! I've been playing MK 11 Towers of Time, clearly in still on the high of the MK 2021 movie, it was aight overall but nonetheless still makes me want to play the game lol Love your shit Ian, keep it up man!

I'm eh on Kenny. It's interesting on the surface but I don't follow/have no interest in Impact, so I really don't care what they do with those belts. My interest in AEW hasn't been the world title lately.

My favorite memory with this game was one of my friends at school saying I could borrow it so I ask my parents to give me a ride to his house and they couldn’t for whatever reason, so I snuck out of the house and walked about 6 miles to my buddies house and when his parents found out I was there without a ride they drove me home and my parents never knew I was even gone! That was a school night and I still play this game until about 3 AM. I was about 14 years old.
To be fair to my parents, I lived in the basement and rarely if ever left my room.

My cousin had an n64 and we used to play this for hours during summer vacation. We’d have our own storylines and relentlessly played 40 man rumbles. Only thing missing in this game was creating a wrestling which came later in wrestlemania 2000. But we should’ve got another wcw game with updated roster and gameplay.

The current generation just don't know how epic the matches were to Revenge/Wrestlemania 2000/No Mercy was. I remember having a frustrating title run with The Big Red Machine in WM2000 developing unique ways to say FTS!!! lol. Trying to unlock Shawn Michaels made me dislike him for a while.
