Hey mike! Love the training centre. Back when i was in trades school our professor had made a "Fault Board" with on/off switches that were connected to different saftey's, controls, etc. you could do the same with the inducer; flame sensor, pressure switch. that way you can create a fault without actually messing with the unit whilst having a "learning tech" go in their with his meter and figure out the issue.
Back in the day of Brooklyn Union Gas, we had an R&D facility that had boiler testing. They had radiators mounted on the outside of the building to test them.
Mikey, thank you bro i learned so much from you over the years.i am a very handy person that does everything in my own house, So much so that i been repairing my own furnace myself and keeping everything running tip top from watching your videos. God bless you man. Im in NYC too but not in long island area, maybe one day i will meet you in person and thank you
I wish I could work beside Mikey Pipes, and learn all the in's and out's of Boilers! Thank goodness for the videos, because I was basically thrown to the wolves, and instructed to fix it! That's been 8 years ago, and I know way more now, but how great it would have been to have someone actually teach me the proper way!
I say take a compressor out of a condenser and pipe the hydronic through the coil. Leave the fan motor and such and see how much heat transfer you can get. You’re at the mercy of the 3/8 liquid line but you could make a new header pretty easily to have (2) 3/4 connections for a better flow rate. Essentially a free fan coil
If you want a decent Hydronic test, I think you need actual load. you need the supply temp to return cold? If you had 10 or 15 feet of pipe it would just heat up too fast. Maybe add a loop that goes inside of the nice cooler and dump some ice in it? I guess you would need a ton of ice. Maybe have a custom portable AC inside a box with a coil of pex, like a cold heat exchanger?
Are you going to allow other contractors to use these for trading their techs. You should if these were donated by these manufacturers. ??? Maybe you could rent out to train your competitors technicians. Remember your motto “making the trades great again”
I did the same thing years ago. Then all the contractors technicians wanted to put applications in with our company when they seen how our business was ran so that was the end of that no more training other contractors technicians.
Missing drip leg is not a mistake but there for “training purposes”. You ask the student, “what do you see wrong with this installation”? Merry Christmas or as I like to say Mirthful Nativity.
Awesome training wall in the making!!! Showing and teaching your workers is priceless information and will make them professional in the real world.
Can’t believe how much I’ve learned just by watching your videos!
Mike is a true professional - you make plumbing look so easy!
Mike, your passion for what you do shines through in every video!

My teacher back in the 70s would call that 11/4x3/4 tee a hens ass. Nice job!!
Bring in the combi training!
I need those simple explanations!
Thank you sir!
We will be having the training center up and running soon.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEARS!!
I'd like to see some copper coil spelling out 'training' or 'pipe doctor' as one of the zones above the boilers. That would be a cool project.
Look up the code for drip legs, please tell me if they are optional 😅😅😅
Not optional in Dominion of Canada.!!!

What's the best tankless electric for 2 bath home?
Mikey, don’t kid yourself… size always matters! lol.
Not the motion of the ocean?
@@PipeDoctor Hahahaha
Happy Hanukah to you and yours Mike !
I would have added a main shut off on the inside, maybe get a small breaker panel that holds like 6 breakers to power each one.

@@PipeDoctor Meh... I guess nice thing about a Combi you just need to run the hot water wide open to keep it running
I have a navien and it's has more problems than my old ram 2019 classic any opinion on HTP boiler furnace combos?
Looks great
Thanks! It’s been a long time coming.

That’s the plan. Other techs will come from other companies
