Having built a real UniVibe from scratch I have found it hard to accept anything but a lamp and photo resistors version, but this has really hit the spot with so much more. I also like the Fractal vibe model. Nice demo and playing.
I don't think anything evokes 60's-70's psychedelia like a univibe, except maybe a fuzz, and those pedal tones had me really revisiting my past. Really nicely done.
I had a Mobius on my board for the longest time, I only used 2 effects off it and the UniVibe was one of them (90% of the time) They have the best digital UniVibe going and this pedal is a blessing.
Strymon has flippin' done it again!!! These compact format pedals they are releasing are definitely more for me and my pedal budget. And like the Brig and Cloudburst, that sounds amazing! I always love a good Univibe, so I'll be picking this one up next. Another killer demo... Cheers Leon!! 👏🏼
Ya know. I think single coils are some of the most charismatic pick ups you can use. I've got a few guitars, LP, Jem, RG's, Flying V with active pickups etc, but my Strat with Texas Specials has such a brilliant tone like yours here too.
I’m in the market for a vibe pedal. It shouldn’t annoy me as much as it does, but there’s no pulsing light on this one! I do love the different wave shapes tho - Trower currently uses the same as the “high bias” setting with his Dunlop, which is almost enough reason to buy this one! My current Vibe Machine V2 only does the “mid” setting, even with bias adjustments.
Hendrix and Trower sold me on Univibes. I have an MXR and a JHS. This one seems far more versatile than both of them. Still loving your Strat! That opening jam was great.
Outstanding demo. Your playing is great, but your focus was on the sound of the pedal, not on impressing anyone. Perfect balance between playing and talking. No needless technical yap. I really was able to hear what this pedal could do. Loved the mix of playing alone and over jams. You got my sub. Checking now to see if you reviewed the Iridium. Thx.

Hey LEon! Wow, really great tone on that! It sounded much like Gilmour's vibe straight away. As a Fractal fellow, I have to ask you: how do you compare it with the AxeFx III's vibe? My experiences with the vibe block in Axe are great, but honestly I'm with the impression I hadn't ever got that level of natural and musical warbly and swirling sound as you've presented here. The ultraviolet sounds soo much like the recordings of the original univibe. Would it be greener grass on your side or you share the same perception? Please let me know your thoughts! Keep rockin', mate!
Another juciey Strymon pedal with Leon adding some of the best juciey jammed ultra violet light on Robin trower . I figure Lupins gotta be itchen to give us his tails up for this one matey from way down under.. 🦘🌏.lol. he says he's lookin good from behind . Lol 😂 he is so butt funny.. fun pedal to play .. you made it sound ultra sweet mate.
I appreciate the extra functionality, especially the bias options and I bet you can whack it anywhere in the chain too but the core of what I'm after with a univibe isn't there with this, at least for me. I assume this is using something other than photoresistors and a magic lamp?
What is the signal path being used, is this into an axe fx? Do you have the preset? Any other effects? Basically i want to sound like this but know that I wont because its 90% your god like guitar skills
Univibes are one of those effect pedals that never really inspired the general guitar population? Leon I will say something though, you are a master face puller.
The one inside the Helix sounds equally good. This new Strymon's marketing strategy is really a shame. They took an algorithm from one of their bigger pedals and want us to believe that they are offering something new inside a smaller pedal. 🤦🤦🤦

That's the trouble with Strymon stuff-all that Verby cleanliness and Gay trails. After a few years it all sounded the same to me.
Iv forgotten how many vibes Iv owned & sold off. Most need a lot of amp volume to work properly, Thanks Leon.

The Strymon is a technological marvel, but I'm leaning toward a VB-2W purchase. It sounds better to me.

They're one of the earliest examples of an effect pedal that truly transforms an electric guitar sound IMO
